The room is very comfortable and airy with windows on two walls, and quiet. The bed is very comfortable with nice feeling sheets resulting in a restful sleep both nights. The bathroom is well lit and has a walk in shower, with fantastic water pressure. The proprietor, Victoria, is exceedingly friendly as well as a wealth of information about the local area including where to eat. I found her descriptions and recommendations to be spot on. Breakfast is elegant. It is casual for the guest, but the table is nicely set and the food is freshly made and delectable. The weather was great during our stay so we got to enjoy a day at the beach. There are beach chairs and beach blankets available to borrow, as well as a parking pass for the Madison beaches. Victoria has really made it easy to enjoy Madison and makes you feel at home. I found everything to be in close proximity. The historical sites in Guilford are about 5 miles and the Madison beaches about 1 mile, and the on-ramp to I-95 is about 1 mile.

The innkeeper was wonderful and friendly. She was very knowledgeable about the local area. The whole place had a laid back atmosphere. There is a complimentary coffee bar available all day, as well as a fridge filled with cold refreshments. The breakfast was delicious. The baked apples and omelets were out of this world good. This quaint B&B is located only a short distance from downtown madison, easily a walkable distance in the summer. All in all I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy getaway

Complementary water in our room and comfy robes. We had a balcony view of the sound that was breathtaking. Mathew at the front desk was welcoming upon arrival and took the time to get to know guests. He was always helpful when we had a question and took his time with us. Never made us feel like we were unimportant. The grounds were well maintained and kept up. Always saw staff maintaining the property. The property had a small private beach with overlook to rocky bluff. The hotel also has spa services for those who want to indulge in a facial or massage. On select Fridays the restaurant has a wine tasting and Al's hosts larger events. Lunch and dinner we sat outside on the covered patio with a beautiful view of the sound. Sydney was friendly and accommodating at dinner. The manager Anthony took good care of us at dinner for substitutions due to food intolerances. The food was excellent we had the short rib and steak frits with a beautifully paired Bordeaux. Lunch we had the crab cakes, house salad and smash burger. Our stay was just what we needed to relax and unwind. A definite revisit in the future.

The back story was not a good experience with making dinner reservations…read more I tried to make a reservation for 6 at 5 pm on a Thursday night. Open table is the go to from the website but there were no tables available for that time only 4pm or after 7pm. I called the hotel two times on two different days and was sent to voicemail where I left a detailed message including my name and number for a call back. After no reply from the restaurant or hotel my group decided to scrap the dining and just meet for the Grassy Strip Concert. I tried open table again to make reservations for 4 at 5pm but all I could get was a table at 4:30 so I took it. Arriving at 4:30 we found the restaurant pretty empty. We were warmly greeted and seated. We had excellent service, great food and beautiful views. Staff informed us that they could have easily accommodated 6 for dinner. Unfortunately the other couple were not with us. However they did join us at the table for after dinner drinks before the concert. We were surprised to see an empty restaurant that still had several open tables when we were leaving around 7:30. Their loss. So overall it was a great night, but the business better get on the ball with customer service if they don't want to have an empty restaurant. BTW I let staff know about my experience when we were there and afterwards sent an email. Guess what? No reply!

The venue itself is set on a beautiful location and offered the perfect spot for our outdoor nuptials. The officiant, Bobi, was recommended and she was one of the best parts of the event! My husband and I loved her and every single guest raved about how amazing the ceremony was. An overnight stay was provided the night before and the night of our event as part of our booking and the room was adorable. It was cozy and had a charm that offered a great atmosphere for getting ready the day of! Private beach access 2 short blocks away - and the Inn provides your beach chairs & towels! Gorgeous river access at the back of the property too. The person in charge cleaned it and poured a whole container of drain cleaner down the pipe as she said the room next door was all backed up. We had to change flights due to the incoming BIG storm and they would not give any refund for the night we missed on the two rooms. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

The floors were so filthy, the bathmat turned black after showering and stepping off it, then back on it. BLACK. There was one dim lamp, a blurry TV, a lock on the door that could be popped by a teenager (to the point we wouldn't leave our stuff in the room when we left). Oh, speaking of the shower - I also enjoyed it running out of hot water mid-way though mine. They did not have the basic amenity of a hair dryer, and the first time I used the toilet (nothing exceptional), it overflowed... and they gestured toward a plunger when my boyfriend went to the office for help. Well, at least there was a prayer covered shower curtain... a sign you'll need God to look after you if you stay in this dump that should be condemned. On top of it all, as we were trying to get ready to leave - not that we wanted to stay any longer than we had to - we received a rude call at 10:40 am telling us we needed to leave by 11am. We were aware. And were certainly not looking to stay any longer. Beware.
