It's a comfortable motel right off Boston Post Road. The rooms are well appointed, plenty of clothes hangers, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, refrigerator/freezer, TV, microwave, coffee pot and pods, USB chargers, and towels and amenities. Complimentary Breakfast 6-10 am. Tesla charging stations. The rooms facing the back are a little quieter, the ones facing the street are also quiet. My husband and I stayed here one night on our way to Boston because they have a Tesla charger. We didn't expect much and were pleasantly surprised with the hotel and the town. The room was clean and comfortable. There were a few places to eat at walking distance. We bought dinner and ate in the room's dinning table. I was laying in bed when i saw something crawling on my pillow. I jumped up to see a bed bug right next to my head. They offered to switch my room but i really did not feel comfortable being anywhere in the hotel. I had to run to walmart and buy things to spray down my suitcase and clothing. Shame. read more

We stayed here this past weekend while we were in the area for a wedding. The wedding we attended was at a beautiful hotel on the shore in Madison, but the rooms cost over five hundred dollars a night. We found the guilford comfort inn was only a couple miles away, and a fraction of the price. It was a seamless, easy booking online. I was notified of my reservation through both email and text. Check in was friendly and easy. Our room was better than we expected for the low price we paid, complete with a coffee pot, microwave, and refrigerator. Everything was very clean, and the a/c worked amazing which we were grateful for during a heat wave in Connecticut. We were also pleasantly surprised that they served a very nice breakfast in the morning that was included with our stay. (It may have been advertised as included but I didn't read about it, so it was a bonus surprise for us!) We are very satisfied with our booking, and would recommend this place to anyone that needs a place to crash for the weekend as we did during our time at the shore. read more

This is not a fancy place, but it was more than adequate and clean. It was reasonably updated, the plumbing in good order. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We booked online, the price was fair for the area, and there was good food nearby. They are located just far enough off of I-95 that it is still easy to find but the highway does not impact the experience. As noted by others, the wifi, though free, is week and the "breakfast" not what we would want. But we did not really "need" either as cell reception was good, as were nearby eateries. read more

Do NOT believe the web site, there is NO airport shuttle. The only reason I stayed here but it's quiet & clean. Showers, well...you would do better to shower in the sink. No water pressure, sad. They do have bagged breakfast items to take. Staff? Rooms are very clean, front counter staff, not so friendly. read more

The place was ok for a comfort inn. Doesn't really have many amenities and the free breakfast is just microwaved bacon and microwaved eggs mixed with some cereal and waffle making machine. I wish there was something lower than "1 star." We arrived around 11pm the first night and for some reason they had 2 rooms reserved in my name - even though it was just my wife and I. We explained that it was a mistake and that we only wanted / needed 1 room. The woman at the FRONT DESK said it was past the cancellation deadline, so we were being charged for the extra room and that we'd need to call RESERVATIONS to sort it out because there's nothing they could do there at the front desk. So I got to the room and spent 15 - 20 minutes on hold before talking to someone in RESERVATIONS only to have them tell me they couldn't do anything - they said only someone at the FRONT DESK could remove the charge for the second room. I explained that the FRONT DESK told me I had to call them. At that point they suggested I call CUSTOMER RELATIONS the next morning. So I called CUSTOMER RELATIONS, waited on hold another 15 minutes, and finally spoke to someone. He said he couldn't do anything to remove the charge - it could only be done by the FRONT DESK (!!) and offered to call them on my behalf. After being on hold nearly 10 minutes while he did that, he came back and said the hotel refused to remove the charge for the extra unused room. BTW - the hotel was NOT full. There were maybe 8 - 10 cars in the whole parking lot. So it wasn't as if they were losing out on potential revenue. They had plenty of empty rooms. After burning all that time trying to get that sorted out, I decided to just give up and just dispute the charge through my Credit Card company. In the meantime, we decided to check out a day early. So we stopped at the FRONT DESK to let them know. The woman said that since we made the reservation online, she couldn't change it. They can't change reservations at the hotel?!? So I went to the room and spent another 15 minutes on hold waiting for someone to pick up the phone at RESERVATIONS only for her to tell me she cannot change the reservation! She said "changes have to be done by the FRONT DESK" because "Choice hotels are individually owned" and RESERVATIONS can only make changes BEFORE you're in the room. At this point, I've been at this for over an hour. The woman in RESERVATIONS puts me on hold AGAIN to "look into what they can do." After a few minutes, she came back on the line and said she has to transfer me to CUSTOMER RELATIONS where I'm on hold for about 5 minutes before the call disconnects. I called back CUSTOMER RELATIONS, waited on hold for about 5 minutes this time and then had to explain the whole damn thing to them all over again. The CUSTOMER RELATIONS guy says he needs to put me on hold to call the FRONT DESK. He then comes back on the line to say the woman at the FRONT DESK doesn't "know how to change the reservation" and he's going to consult with one of his "mentors" about it. So now, I've been on hold for about 10 minutes waiting for him to do that... I'm in the 7th circle of hell. UPDATE: The CUSTOMER RELATIONS guy finally came back on the line and said we could check out in the morning at the FRONT DESK and we wouldn't be charged the final night. When we went to check out the next morning, the guy at the FRONT DESK said "but, you're booked for one more night." So I gave him an abbreviated version of the whole story and he said "ok, I can check you out but it's going to increase your rate because you had a special rate based on 6 nights so you'll have to pay more." I asked "how much more?" He smiled and shrugged and said "I don't know....just more." I slid the key across the counter (it fell on the desk) and said "we're checking out." His response was "you don't have to be rude." Seriously, don't EVER stay at this hotel. read more

Checked in ok-but when we got back from getting take out and tried to watch tv there was no signal. Desk attendant came up and tried to fix it but said it was from a rain storm and would probably reset in an hour. An hour went by, no signal. Called attendant who said there was nothing she could do. Asked about some type of credit and she said she would "check with her boss." Sheets were clean but pills-stay away if you have other options! read more

Desk clerk always very friendly. Rooms are comfortable and have both a mini fridge and a microwave. No gym which kind of stinks, but what can you do. Free breakfast and coffee and juice available 24-7. Only thing to be careful of is your bill... When you arrive decline any additional or unclear charges. The charge a $1.99 misc charge that the staffer couldn't ID what it was for and a $7.99 charge for the safe. read more

But the so-called continental breakfast at the hotel is horrible. The scrambled "eggs" were tiny ball bearings. I usually stay here because it's friendly and easy to get to and clean. I love the upgrades they made with new rugs and décor. It's not fancy but very comfortable. My only issue is the mold smell from the bathroom that bothers my sinuses so bad it makes me feel sick. I'm not sure if it's the shower curtains or floors but using some bleach would go a long way. This hotel was exactly what you would expect from a comfort inn. It was fine for the night but it wasn't anything amazing. The room was nice and pretty clean for the most part. Contrary to the first review, Ive got to give this comfort inn 2 stars. The positive was that the room was clean. The negative is that the reservationist put us down for two nights when we specifically asked for one night. She seemed confused over the phone, and left us wondering what we would get when we showed up. When we did show up, the front desk couldnt find the reservation, insisted we were at the wrong place, and then argued that we booked two nights. Customer service was lacking. read more

Not impressed at all. For what we paid for this room it should have been better. We walked into the room & although it was clean it was very small & had 2 double beds. When my husband went to the desk & asked for a bigger room he was told there wasn't one. This hotel is in the middle of nowhere there is no reason you should pay $160 a night for this. There are no attractions nearby either. I will not recommend this location to anyone. read more

Stayed here on August 16, 2014. Comfort Inn of Guilford CT is a perfect place to stay if you want a clean, neat, comfortable and welcoming room for one night or several. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating while staying there. The bed was very comfortable and made with military precision with crisp clean linens. Plenty of towels and toiletries available in the bathroom. The location is on a main road in a small town but still quiet in the room. Highly recommend this Inn/Hotel. read more

Two stars because for the 3 days I stayed in this hotel, housekeeping continually left two rolls of toilet paper that were 4/5th's already used and did not leave a full roll anywhere in the bathroom. I had to ask the front desk for a roll of toilet paper. Why should I have to do that? The hotel was totally booked the 3 days I was there, but that is no excuse for housekeeping to use my room as the place to put all those very used rolls of toilet paper that had been in other rooms. Thank you for not wasting, Comfort Inn, but at least give me one full roll, too. The breakfast was pretty horrible also. Pastries from a Cosco factory and orange juice that tasted like it had extra sugar added to it. The room itself was fine, nice big TV and comfortable beds. Hotels can get most of it right, but the thing I take away as a guest will be the toilet paper shortage. Try harder, Comfort Inn. read more
