The house was warm and she had most of the windows open to "get fresh air in." It turns out the air conditioning can't keep up but never mind that. We were there for my brother's wedding being held right next door. At 4:30pm we were literally sitting in the front row waiting for wedding to start - we are talking at any second, not minute, any second it was to start - I see my brother motion to me to come to him. He then tells me that we were being kicked out of the precious Fountain Inn because we had a 3-year-old. Not knowing when I paid for the overpriced $482 room that they didn't allow kids under 12 is certainly on me. However, Morgan should have said something immediately and not waited 3 1/2 hours and wait for moment the wedding was about to start to throw us all to the street (my 85-year-old was with us to boot). Morgan claims there was a complaint, however there was just one other couple staying there and they left for lunch as we were coming in. Within an hour, most of the wedding party was in the self-important Fountain Inn, and you can't tell me there was some mystery complaint over a 3-year-old when 12 to 15 people were getting ready for a wedding. I'm sorry, but Morgan is a liar. The wedding wound up being delayed because Morgan chooses that time to throw us all out on the street. We had to gather our things and move to another place. To enhance Morgan's rude and grossly ill-timed eviction, she had to send me a "As per our conversation" text message - again right as the wedding trying to start. The Fountain Inn is run by completely unprofessional staff and grossly overpriced for antiquated accommodation. There are too many far better options in the area to stay here.

For a larger Bed & Breakfast in terms of the property itself, it felt super warm and cozy. The common areas were really nice and the rooms were perfect. The location can't be beat as you are right in the middle of the North Fork surrounded by great wineries, restaurants, and beaches. As to the breakfast portion of the "B & B"? Let's just say we didn't need to eat the rest of the day. It was fantastic. Our hosts - Dave and Donna - were just so nice and we not only enjoyed staying at their house, but really enjoyed sitting and chatting with them during our visit. They do a great job and made us feel welcome. If you are heading to the North Fork, it's a perfect place to settle in for a night or more. The proprietor, Victoria, is exceedingly friendly as well as a wealth of information about the local area including where to eat. I found her descriptions and recommendations to be spot on. Breakfast is elegant. It is casual for the guest, but the table is nicely set and the food is freshly made and delectable. The weather was great during our stay so we got to enjoy a day at the beach. There are beach chairs and beach blankets available to borrow, as well as a parking pass for the Madison beaches. Victoria has really made it easy to enjoy Madison and makes you feel at home. I found everything to be in close proximity. The historical sites in Guilford are about 5 miles and the Madison beaches about 1 mile, and the on-ramp to I-95 is about 1 mile.
