The location can't be beat as you are right in the middle of the North Fork surrounded by great wineries, restaurants, and beaches. As to the breakfast portion of the "B & B"? Let's just say we didn't need to eat the rest of the day. It was fantastic. Our hosts - Dave and Donna - were just so nice and we not only enjoyed staying at their house, but really enjoyed sitting and chatting with them during our visit. I stumbled along this place online and we were so happy I did! The innkeeper was very gracious and gave great recommendations on local restaurants and activities. It was September/October so we decided we wanted to take a "leaf peeping" drive and so we followed a map and some road signs for magnificent views of the New England fall foliage. We even went over a few covered bridges, that was a first for us! We did wine tastings at local nearby wineries, including Hopkins, which was our favorite. We bought some souvenir wine glasses and a bottle (or three) of wine and enjoyed it at Lake Waramaug -- the most beautiful autumn setting -- not far from home base at Constitution Oak. Bunnell Farm was nearby and they have a great corn maze. You can also stop for fresh produce, pickles and preserves at Freund Farm along the Leaf Peeping route. This B&B is in a great area with lots of local attractions nearby, including historic Litchfield. We stayed in a room upstairs and it was huge! There were 3 beds so we both had our own bed and then some. The bathroom was in the hallway but we were the only guests so it didn't matter. There was a nice dining room with pastries and coffee waiting for us in the morning and a cozy sitting room to unwind.

Marty and Elyse had great tips for cycling destinations (and for local activities like farmers markets) and we were so pleased to have joined one of Marty's historical bike tour - highly recommended! The scallops were very small, obviously not fresh and rubbery. They were served with boiled potatoes which were sprinkled with parsley and no other seasoning at all. The worst though was the "chef's choice of vegetable": FROZEN green beans. To charge $39 for this pitiful dinner is basically a crime. We told our waiter that we were disappointed for the above reasons and he mumbled that he would tell the chef. Obviously not the first such complaint he received. This place used to be one of the best places in Connecticut. Gonna miss it, cause we aren't going back.
