Right when I walked in Lorraine greeted me and showed me around, offered me some freshly made brownies and we chatted over the deliciousness. The bathroom attached was amazing. I had a nice soak before dinner and drinks. Lorraine and her husband live there and are amazing hosts. The bed and breakfast is only about 10 minutes away from Bradley Airport and in the quaint town of Suffield. They have a grocery and some restaurants across the street, but little traffic in the neighborhood. It's such a great getaway spot. Breakfast in the morning was also SPECTACULAR. Blueberry pancakes, bacon and eggs, with a fruit salad to start. Lorraine really treats you like family when you stay here. I would be honored to be a guest here again. Thanks so much Lorraine! We were traveling with a newborn baby, so the mold was a big deal for us and felt like a safety concern. The hosts were kind enough to refund part of our trip. This house is highly rated on Yelp and other hotel websites, but I think the rating is for the personality and hospitality of the hosts, not the quality of the accommodations. It's great if you want to feel like a guest in someone's house, but not if you want to stay in a nice place. I recommend Airbnb if you want the "house feel," or you could just book a hotel (which is what we ended up doing).

The rooms are stocked with snacks and there's some local artwork you can purchase if you like. The upstairs suite doesn't have any kind of a kitchen, though there's a mini-fridge and I believe a microwave, so dishes are bussed out as you use them; don't plan on doing any food prep on your own. The hostess brought breakfast to the room (there's not a common dining room like most B&Bs) and pointed out the local ingredients including eggs from her chickens and vegetables from the garden. This is a real working mini-farm and it's fun to stroll the grounds and see what is going on. And it's VERY close to the northeast corner of the campus; we were able to leave our car and walk to his dorm (Van Meter) in about 20 minutes. Like the website says, the grounds are very rich in animals and there's an extremely friendly cat who wouldn't stay out of our room in spite of the management's desire to keep the premises pet-free. I stayed in early November so Halloween decorations were still up and the fall vibe with the pumpkin decorations really added to the ambience. This place was truly a dream, like a night in a museum -- very pristine, the most comfortable bedding, there were other guests but everyone was quiet and respectful. Also the breakfast, AMAZING -- fresh and elaborate fruit cup, yummy pancakes, fresh squeezed orange juice! I wish I could have come back for Christmas but there is always next year!!
