Short version - beautiful house, excellent hosts, great breakfast. We loved it and will be back. You should definitely stay here. Long version - as you pull up, you're blown away by how beautiful it is. This house is also in a great location that allows you to walk to the little shops in Old Wethersfield. We were met my Olga, one of the owners, and she was lovely. She gave us a full tour (and we even got to peek in the other rooms that didn't have guests). There's even a space to work out in the basement, along with an ice maker and a fridge with soda for the guests. The whole house is stunning, restored to how it would have looked back in the day. Each room is beautiful and they all have updated and modern showers. I thought it was a nice touch that there were two luggage holders in our room, so we could both unpack without having to put a suitcase on the bed. We had bottled water in the room, along with an ice bucket and a wine bottle opener. It's worth noting that the curtains in our room weren't light blocking, so if you're sensitive to light keep that in mind. Each evening they put out some snacks but we were really looking forward to breakfast. Dmitriy handled breakfast and it was wonderful. He was so attentive and topped off everyone's water and coffee. I had made a cup of tea and he materialised with a fresh pot for me. That was so nice! Breakfast starts off with a wonderful glass full of cut fruit. Then he brought out the next course of eggs, bacon and toast. And finally these little pancakes with home made whipped cream and syrup. They were light and fluffy and the best pancakes I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and stay here. You won't regret it.

Had an absolutely wonderful evening and night here! Wish we could have stayed a few more days in this quaint little town and exquisite house. The hosts are so hospitable and welcoming! Definitely recommend staying here. Watch the Hallmark movie "Christmas on Honeysuckle Lane " while you are there.

My wife and I just visited the Silas W Robbins house in Old Whethersfield. It's a completely restored 1855 Victorian and is now a delightful B&B that to is a sight to behold. The owners (John and Shireen) have done a remarkable job over the past 8 years in restoration, and the whole house is a history lesson on Victorian style, craftsmanship and lifestyle. For those who love details in woodworking, garden spaces, and the sheer mastery of the 1800's artisans this house is a must see. And on top of that the owners are gracious hosts and the 5 guest rooms (all with private baths) are designed and decorated for comfort and a relaxing stay.

Wonderful and warm. These are the words to describe This B&B. The bedding, towels, and overall decor are good quality. Breakfast is also delicious. The host...most gracious and friendly

Can I give a six star review?…read more We've stayed at expensive hotels this year in Philadelphia and Chicago and this experience is head and shoulders over those. Huge room, comfortable, quiet and cozy. 6 star The quiet, do we even have anyone in the Inn or the town? The insulation is top notch. The dark The ultra sleeping experience. I guarantee the owner slept in this room at least one night to get feel for the room and make those little touches. How many hotels do you go to where the shades don't keep out the light or that the various clocks and smoke alarms and power strips and wall outlets all have bright led lights on them? How many times have I draped a sock over something. Not here, even the clock has a bright, dim and off option. I love a blacked out room and very very rarely get one. The shower - powerful and hot and oversized. Wow. Massive bathtub with jacuzzi option, wow. A well hidden TV, a really nice touch. We don't want it dominating the room. Bed, I've returned 3 mattresses after purchasing them at my house so I am picky and this bed is elite. Huge comfy chairs, comfy robes, this room has it all and the a/c is powerful. Resort 6stars Wine and cheese and fruit and cracker happy hour, bring $5 to tip Susan, she is a cheerful conversatalist. Breakfast is massive, don't plan to go anywhere else for brunch or breakfast. Highly recommend it and the seating areas are many, inside and out. Staff - great recommendations and Beatrice drew upon her knowledge of growing up in the town. Plus they had a ready list of 5 places to eat to walk to, so nice. The town, what a find, a classic NE town, they filmed mystic pizza here. So quiet and so much to do! Good amount of folks walking around, plenty of sites to see. Love it here.

Have you ever been the only guest at a bed and breakfast?-- it's a little awkward. However, the inn is just beautiful. My room (room 3) was large and luxurious, with a door to the balcony outdoors. It is all immaculately clean, and the bed was super soft. The owners did their best to be unobtrusive. I didn't eat breakfast with them, so I can't comment on the food. There's a coffee maker in the room as well as in the common area. I adored that I could walk out the door and be so close to the coffee shops, stores, etc in Glastonbury. I ate supper at Plan B burger bar, because it's a five minute walk. I would absolutely return here next time I need to stay in town.

My fiancee emailed her on that day to confirm and when she got no response, texted her, but still no response. We arrived on time and after a few minutes of waiting around, Pat appeared and said she had forgotten that we were coming or the reason why were there, even asking if we had an appointment. As I said, the grounds are very nice. We had what we thought was a good conversation and were excited about the prospects of putting together our special day. Pat said "her printer wasn't working" and she couldn't print out the prices and details, but said she would email us the specifics. Welp, we're still waiting. My fiancee even emailed her the next day to say that we enjoyed meeting with her and she would look out for the materials. NO RESPONSE. It's simple courtesy to get back to people, not go silent on them, wasting everyone's time and resources. She "might" be able to handle smaller events (maybe a birthday party), but her abysmal lack of communication certainly doesn't instill confidence. And she'll probably respond to this poor review with some excuse - it's probably about the only time she'll be willing to communicate with us.

This weekend was our annual Swedish Christmas gathering and Grace & Rob provided us with the perfect venue. 20 adults and 6 children from 1-11 years old just don't fit at anyone's house anymore, so we reached out to take over the B&B for a day. The common rooms are spacious enough that we all were able to easily mingle for appetizers while the kids played and enjoyed themselves. The dining room handily accommodated our buffet line and seating for our Smorgasbord. Every step of the way, the owners were there if we wanted anything. The restoration of this home into a B&B is ongoing and it is very tasteful. Can't wait to see the next stage! We all loved our rooms. They were quiet and comfortable after our long event. We were in the Austin and Ruth Suite. I easily could stay here for weeks! The cabinetry is amazing, the bathroom larger than some bedrooms and the sitting area was very enticing. And our breakfast was delicious! From the pitchers of juice and water, the homemade granola with yogurt and apples, the scrumptious French toast with Vermont maple syrup... A perfect ending to our gathering that allowed us to wind down before heading on our way.
