They gave me a four-hour window and never showed up. I called an hour after the window had passed, and they told me the technician would arrive an hour and a half later. Completely unacceptable. No advance notice, and it wasted my entire day waiting for them. I've cancelled the appointment. I do not recommend this company.

John was amazing when he came over to my house. I had previously interviewed and hired two other contractors to come in to look at my AC unit and they did not know what the hell they were doing. By the time, I finally reached John, he knew exactly what was wrong! He is super honest and his price was amazing depending on what your issue is with your AC. My issue was I needed a new compressor which the other two bozo clowns couldn't figure out. My only regret is that I wish I found John as my first contractor instead of interviewing and working with the other two bozos! I live in Newark. After getting quotes from five vendors, I chose Aircare as they did the proper best practices…read moreassessment to size the heat pump that we bought to replace the conventional 20 yr old Lennox Heating and Cooling HVAC System) in our home. It's important that it's sized properly so its running most efficiently and Aircare was the only one that did the work that was recommended to accomplish this task. Roberto, the salesperson used his iPad to LIDAR map rooms to measure the cubic space for the estimate. So we moved forward with a Bryant three ton slim preferred series unit for our home at approximately 2000 square feet. The Mediterranean climate in Silicon Valley is a great match for a modern heat pump, and it frees us from a gas usage, which is increasingly expensive . The install terminating gas for heat qualifies for a $1500 rebate plus a $2000 tax credit. Of note Roberto spent almost 2 hours on site answering all my questions and doing the estimation, and linked me up with a service called HomeIntel, which works with PGE to optimize your energy usage in your home by analyzing your patterns looking at your account. It was quite helpful and free. In all this process really helped seal the deal in my eyes. Scheduling was easy for the installation, which started on time and took over two days. It's quite a bit of work to remove the old system and piping to then install brand new properly. It's very key to replace the refrigerant lines as the refrigerant is different than the old system and if the two get mixed in the lines, even if they've been so-called purged, it can contaminate and destroy the new system, so it's highly recommended that you always replace the refrigerant lines with this type of installation. Installer techs Kintroy and Dennis were meticulous, system experts, and very friendly. They worked hard and did a fantastic job getting the system installed over two days which included redoing the air intake ducts and enlarging one of the ceiling intakes. System came with a Bryant branded Ecobee thermostat which we had to have swapped out because the first one had a defect, second one is fine. Inspections - Another reason I chose Aircare is that they handled the entire city permit process for me other than I needed to be present for the inspector. The other vendors were not willing to deal with the full permit and rectify issues at their full cost if issues were found by the inspectors. When you spend the kind of money that you have to on a system like this, which is north of $15,000, I expect that the contractor will handle the permit. An installation like this requires two inspections, one feeds into the other. The first is required to drive the rebates and measures if the system is sealed, and is operating with proper airflow capacity. The second is the standard installation city safety and code based inspection. Passed the first with no issues, and the inspection with the city went quickly with no problems because the Aircare team did the job properly. The city inspector checked key items and commented that Aircare had really done a good job, that others that he has seen don't. I waited to do this review until we ran the system for a bit, so now it's been about two months and we are so satisfied. This is the first time in the 10 year ownership of this house where we truly have a set and forget efficient system that does not have to work very hard to keep the house heated or cooled. I highly recommend a heat pump system, especially if you have a solar system. Some installers will claim that you need to have the solar system in order for the heat pump to pay off because the heat pump uses only electricity, doesn't use gas at all, and can use electricity at a higher rate than the previous type of system. My experience is if the unit is sized correctly and you have good attic insulation, the system does not have to run very long or very hard to manage the temperature in the home. It operates so quietly both inside and outside that you forget you have an HVAC system compared to what we used to experience which was more like a jet engine, When combined with a smart thermostat, which you can inform about your type of PG&E plan it intelligently minimizes impact based on the rate you pay. If you happen to have solar like us, it is even a better. Bottom line need more vendors like Aircare. Thank you!

The HVAC Comfort/Sales Consultant (Timo Parra) listened to our goals, which included reducing the furnace noise in our family room and temperature variance upstairs. Timo was very thorough in his analysis and solution recommendation, which included a high-efficiency, multi stage/speed gas Furnace, AC condenser unit, plus a second air intake upstairs (where there was none) and ductwork down to the furnace in the garage. While there were some unexpected complications (to all of us) along the way, the entire team was outstanding in the way they handled the challenges. My wife and I are very happy with the end result. In my opinion, Residential is just the right size of company. Small enough to provide great customer service, yet large enough to have a real business organization and leadership infrastructure that segments the important functions (sales/HVAC consultants, HVAC designers, service techs, job project coordinator/scheduler, accounting/billing, fabrication and possibly more). Best of all, all the people/departments work together seamlessly without pointing fingers when the unexpected happens. It's easy to provide great customer service when things go well but way more difficult when challenges occur. I can't say enough positive things about Residential in this area as well as exceptional response times (calling/emailing/texting) from the entire Residential team during the entire job. I'd like to recognize all the Residential employees I interacted with on a frequent and infrequent basis. All interactions were very positive and professional (and friendly). The plumbing and drywall subcontractors also contributed outstanding work quality and service.
