Total dive bar, full of locals. Come for a fun time with friends. The food is decent and the people are great.

We ordered a bunch of apps and beverages. We had wings, pretzels and nachos with chicken. The food was good! Service was efficient and friendly. Ambiance was nice in the bar area and they have a regular seating area in a room next to the bar area. Overall, a nice spot to stop by for drinks and some food!

The Pour House is a place to go for a bad night. I'll describe mine:…read more My wife and I go to the bar to get a couple of beers. The taps include a 603 beer and an Allagash. I nod at the taps and ask for a 603 and an Allagash. One of the bartenders, Emily, pours an Allagash, and then goes off to a fridge and gets a 603 Seltzer. Whatever, I don't want to be difficult so I just take the seltzer, and it was pretty good. 30 minutes later after I've finished my first drink, I go back to the bar and ask the same bartender for a Switchback. She then told me I had to close my tab. It was only 9:30, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and closed my tab as requested. I asked her after why she made me close my tab, and she said "I'm not going to give you another Switchback". My tab had no Switchbacks on it, just an Allagash and a seltzer, so I don't know where she got "another Switchback" from. I said "Excuse me?", and she told me she wasn't comfortable serving me because she thought I was drunk. I wasn't going to stand there and argue with her, so I said "alright", told my friends and wife, and waited for them to finish their drinks and left. Right after we left, a crowd of at least a dozen people barreled out of the door and some of them fought each other. Three police cruisers pulled up before we were out of sight. It seems like those guys were never cut off, but I was after a seltzer. Feel free to check the Keene Police report on that, but as far as The Pour House, go there if you want confused and uptight bartenders, and loose and violent patrons.

Bartender didn't impress. Not sure he was experienced. Give away was putting olives on martini containing grapefruit juice, not mention an even number of olives (bad luck). The menus were fancy and I ordered a shaved roast beef sandwich with au jus. Shaved roast beef was on par with Steak-umms. French fries were your typical bagged fries. All in all it was ok at best. Was hoping for a little more given the quality of the other restaurants in the area.

My partner had the short rib ravioli which was also excellent. We are whiskey/bourbon drinkers and the one thing that whiskey/burboun drinkers like in their old fashioned type drinks are single, large ice rocks and not the little broken ice chips that easily dilutes your drink. These are so easy to make yourself. Just buy an ice tray that makes them. The other thing whiskey/bourbon drinkers like in their drinks are the bourbon cherries and not just the plain maraschino cherries. Just two easy recommendations to elavate the experience. The staff was also very friendly.

It seems like alot of the locals come here because many people came in to order a drink and chat a minute. Their was a corn hole game going on, that I think was sponsored by the restaurant, so most of the traffic while we were there was for appetizers and drinks that were carried outside. We ordered the pickle chips (fried), for an appetizer. I was really happy that they were chips and not spears. They were done perfectly and i though the portion size was good for an appetizer. I ordered the shepherds pie. My husband decided on the chicken and chips. I thought the shepherds pie was really good. The flavor was really good, and the layers of corn, hamburger, and potato were perfectl seasoned. The portion was pretty big and I honestly thought it would be to much; but we were really hungry and it was so good that I actually ate every last bit. I even stole a couple of my husbands fries! I really enjoyed our lunch here and would love to come back and try it again sometime.

I forget that name but it had peanut butter, banana and hot honey on it. Was sooo good, probably one of the best burgers in the area, it however wasn't in my opinion worth $20. The menu is a little miss leading, it said $20 for burger and a side. So I got fries as a side. Then the check came out and everything was itemized, the burger was $16 and the fries $4. Why not just have that on the menu? Because I would have just gotten the burger, I thought a side was just part of the $20 price point. Oh well. The ambiance was alright, a big reason why I give it 3 stars is because the inside was a little sad. They have weird random art of Nilla wafer cookies and bananas on the wall??? I mean you're a smoke house, have some photos of the smoker itself, let's see that smoke billowing out. Have some photos of animals (cattle, pigs, chickens). Idk the inside definitely needs help and was a little off putting. Service was quick and kind, a little pushy at the end, the server came up to me and handed me the bill while I was still eating and not even half way through with my meal. Would I go back, would I recommend to friends? I would get the food again, now knowing how the menu works, but I would get it to go since the inside is depressing. I would recommend to a friend, but everything in mind that I just said. Fix the inside of your restaurant and I bet you get more to come, fix your menu so that it's not miss leading and you'll have happier customers. Don't be like everyone else in Keene, that is mediocre food and terrible service. Be better than that, after all you were featured as some of the best BBQ.
