Restoration Vineyards, Palisades , Colorado - July 13, 2026…read more This is a beautiful winery with a modern indoor tasting room and large beautiful outdoor covered grassy area with lots of tables and chairs that has a nice stage for music events. We tasted indoors. Zander was our server and he was terrific! My wife and I shared a tasting and Zander did a great job describing the wines. The wines I've tried from other wineries in this area typically aren't my favorite. I tend to pick up a flavor that is faintly herbaceous on just about every varietal I've tried. Kind of like a stemy character. Not overpowering, but just not my favorite. Not the case with any of the wines we tried at Restoration. The flavor profiles were spot on. All the wines we had were terrific - Chardonnay, Riesling, Rose, Semillon, Pinotage, Barbera, Cab. Franc, and Red Blend. Winery owner, Gary, happened to hear me mention how much I liked the wines here and how I had been picking up the stemy character from other wines in the area. He explained that Restoration uses a unique processes to help eliminate that character. Realizing how much we liked the wines here, Gary opened a bottle of Semillion that was not part of the tasting flight. It had won a double gold medal at the San Francisco Wine Competition and came in second in Best of class. What a delight! I highly recommend this winery!

Even though it was 95°F outside, we stayed comfortable thanks to the plenty of shaded seating and outdoor misters. There are cozy chairs on the lawn where we spent quite a while enjoying our wine and the scenery. The winery is also pet-friendly both inside and outside, which was a huge plus for us. They don't serve food, but they typically have food trucks on-site. We did the tasting, which included all six wines currently available. My favorite was the White Blend, while my husband's favorite was the Red Blend. The staff was incredibly friendly. After we ordered our tasting inside, they even brought the remaining pours out to me while I was relaxing outside, which was such a thoughtful touch. Overall, Restoration Vineyards offers beautiful views, great wine, excellent service, and a very welcoming atmosphere. We would absolutely visit again.

I'm not a fan of Chardonnay, and the staff was happy to substitute a rosé instead, which I really appreciated. The outdoor seating area is beautiful, with gorgeous mountain and vineyard views. We visited on a 95-degree day, so a few more umbrellas for shade would have made the experience even better. After our tastings, we each ordered a glass of our favorite wine and spent some time enjoying the scenery. There were quite a few flies outside, but that's to be expected at a vineyard during the summer and didn't take away from the experience. The wines were good, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the views were absolutely worth the visit. We'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're exploring Palisade wine country.

We got the white wine flight and wanted the charcuterie board but was bummed when they said they were out. A little while later the server came to our table and mentioned they had got some delivered while we were there and offered us one which was really nice. The wine flight was reasonably priced with unique flavors. Our favorite was the chardonnay. The only thing i wish you could do is mix the red and white wines for a tasting. It was odd you could only do a flight of red or white wines. The charcuterie board had the perfect amount of meat, cheese, nuts and fruit for a small snack. Although there could have been more crackers with it. Overall this winery has the best views out of them all! Would highly recommend stopping here if you are in town.

It's counter service with a pamphlet - quite impersonal. Just a taste and go, no story or education. If you want to be left alone, then maybe you'll like it but as a tourist and amateur wine aficionado, I was not a fan of being left to figure $hit out for myself. Would not return when there are so many other wineries around with much better everything that align with what I'm looking to experience.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and they do offer a small selection of light bites if you're looking for a snack. My only complaint was the tasting process. Instead of receiving all of your tastings at once, you're given tasting cards and have to go back inside each time you're ready for the next pour. On the plus side, each wine is poured fresh and served cold, but it does interrupt the experience. If you're trying to relax outside and take in the view, getting up every few minutes to go back inside becomes a little frustrating. Overall, the beautiful setting and friendly staff made it a great stop, and I'd definitely recommend visiting the main winery.

Nick and Holly are incredibly welcoming, and the small, intimate setting made the experience feel truly special. Every course was beautifully prepared and thoughtfully paired with both Maison La Belle Vie wines and imported French wines. The food, wine, and service were all outstanding, but what impressed us most was the attention to detail. They even created nearly an entirely separate menu for a guest with food allergies, along with thoughtful non-alcoholic pairings. These weren't simply substitutions, but completely different dishes prepared with the same care and creativity. They truly thought of everything. A wonderful experience from beginning to end, and one we would absolutely recommend.

We only had one time when our server seemed to disappear (why does that always happen when you are ready to pay and leave?) but the other times were great and chatting with them about their experiences was very pleasant. The first night we had fish, which was a little overcooked and too dependent on the sauces. For lunch we had a very yummy flatbread that was so nice with a glass of wine. Our second dinner was burgers with blue cheese, one of my favorites, and prepared perfectly. The dill potato salad was particularly good and the bun for the burger was really nice. We enjoyed several of the wines during our visits and they were all good. We didn't have a charcuterie board this time, which we have enjoyed in the past, partly because the price has become rather high.

I think the views could be even more spectacular if a few of the trees were trimmed or removed and replaced with some landscaping. The mountains in the background are beautiful, and opening up that view would really make the patio stand out. The bartender was very friendly, took the time to explain the different wines, and helped us choose our tasting. They don't serve food, so be sure to plan accordingly. Overall, Carlson Vineyards offers a relaxing atmosphere, friendly service, and a great pet-friendly experience. We'd definitely stop by again.

I will have to say that my star rating has a big portion to do with the experience we had which could have been determined by the time we might have gone. When we had arrived there and not a soul beside us was there for tasting (all the other wineries that day had lots of people). So it was a bit odd to walk into an empty facility with a very quiet bar tender / taster lady. She wasn't much for any conversation. We had been told it was fun, the atmosphere was friendly and the owner did the tastings and made the experience fun. But we didn't experience that at all. Now the facility was beautiful and being high on the hill, it made a nice overview of the mountains and the water creaks and ponds below. Very nice outside area. The inside is also beautiful and great since it's a house I commend them for making this so homey yet professional. Unfortunately we didn't have the experience we were hoping to, and the wine wasn't one we thought that was outstanding. I don't know I would come back, but if we do we want to experience it the way were told so we might look into their busy times and see what it was like.
