The vineyard was not only restored to its current state but the owner also restores classic Mercedes cars. The views are spectacular and you can see a great distance. Then I got a bonus pour of a Raspberry dessert wine with locally grown raspberries. Not a true port, with only 17.5 ABV. I will be back Sunday to pickup 2 maybe 3 bottles for return to Denver. Colorado Vintner's Collective is new(ish), but what they lack in tenure they make up for in quality wine. Two of the varietals on their tasting list are produced by their proprietors, while the other 3-4 are regional wineries. I did the full tasting and enjoyed a glass of their Animas Chardonnay. It's half oaked, half steel so you get some buttery notes but not a bucket of movie popcorn in your mouth. Compared to other, more crowded wineries in Palisade, this was a treat! There was plenty of seating, no wait time, and a very nice restroom available.
