We had a wonderful tasting. We thought it was a very cool place, I would not listen to the negative reviews and give it a try.

Colorado Wine Country Inn - Breakfast

Colorado Wine Country Inn

This was our first experience at this property…read more There was plenty of parking and we were welcomed in by the desk staff. Check-in was smooth. I had booked two rooms as we were traveling with another couple. They let us each pay for our own rooms separately at check-in. The rooms are very nice. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. Our rooms both had mini fridge and microwave which was a nice touch. The views were beautiful. There was an evening reception where we were offered a glass of the wine from the property vineyard. We sat out on the porch to enjoy the wine and the evening. The pool and hot tub are well maintained and were quite enjoyable. This was a great location for our stay. I would come back.

Wine Country Inn is further away from the city center, so if you plan to be downtown in Grand…read moreJunction, it is going to take you at least 30 minutes to get where you are going. But if you are intentionally hoping for something more remote and quiet with home grown hospitality, you will likely love this place. Know before you go (as of spring/summer 2024): The hotel has an arrangement with professionals who offer massages and facials. Ask them about it before you check in, because it may be difficult to get appointment if you are interested during your stay. Costs range between $85 and $140 depending on the amount of time and type of service. Couples massages are available. And the professionals come to you! One of the wonderful things is the vineyard. You drive past the grapes to reach the hotel and get excellent views of Mt. Garfield, as the hotel is right near the base. The freeway is the only separation, but you cannot hear the freeway traffic once inside (at least not on the far end of the hotel, which is where we stayed). The hotel certainly has more of a dated feel, but it is lovely and has been treated with apparent care -- and it has most everything you need. There is a small fitness center, guest laundry (cost is $1.75 per wash and $1.50 per dry), a tiny business center opened 24/7, reliable WIFI, and a pool with a hot tub on site. The pool and hot tub were closed during the late spring/early summer 2024 for renovations and have since reopened. I didn't have a chance to enjoy either during the stay as both were closed. Apparently, poolside lunch is also open when the pool is open. Caroline's Restaurant is on site, and a hot breakfast is included in your stay at what is called the Tapestry Lounge (a section of the restaurant). It is a fine breakfast with eggs, meats, fruits and juice. Ample offerings. There is also a wine reception held daily in the evening -- this is a vineyard after all. And there is also complementary coffee and tea 24/7. Don't miss the gift shop. In addition to having all the essentials (like snacks, pills and detergent), there is local dessert and some specialty items that would make for decent gifts for older adults. The team is extremely cordial and helpful, also resourceful, especially if you are not familiar with the region. And just up the road is a peach shack that sells excellent peach ice cream and other tasty treats. I highly recommend visiting.

We ordered a hamburger with a side of sweet potato fries (note I'm not a big fries eater, but the burger and fries were truly delicious). The burger was cooked to perfection, the slices of tomato were juicy and ripe and the fries were crispy with a creamy interior. We ordered a slice of the peach pie for dessert. The huge slice was topped with a crumble, side of whipped cream, along with small balls (molecular process?) of juicy peach balls. We came on the early side for happy hour (2 specialty drinks for the price of one- 9.00) two sangria flavors (green apple or peach)...whilst a tad sweet, we're good. The peach is less sweet than the green apple. If there are two of you ordering, order one per person and you can return for your second one even after happy hour ends.

We opted for the more informal setting of the Tapestry experience over Caroline's. We're staying at the Wine Country Inn in Palisade this week and thoroughly enjoying our stay! The breakfasts each morning offer a variety of delicious breakfast options. The wine tasting at 5pm offers up two delicious choices from a local winery. And tonight's dinner was exceptional. I ordered from the Tapestry menu. My burger on a gluten free bun was phenomenal!!! My husband ordered the New York Strip off Caroline's menu, and he thought it was quite good. The ambience of this room is very warm and welcoming. I highly recommend dining here! Our server, Juan, was also really attentive and helpful. Tonight was a 5 star experience!

If you're over in the Palisade area, this is definitely worth a stop…read more I've made the drive to Palisade for Fidel's Cocina & Bar a couple times now, and honestly... it has not disappointed The chips & guac are some of the best around, and the DIP TRIO is a great starter -- black bean hummus, toasted pepita dip, guacamole, and house tortilla chips. Of course I had to add salsa, because... obviously Patti went with the Huevos Rancheros and really liked it Tyler tried the Chile Relleno and said it was the best one he's had in forever -- bold statement, but he's sticking to it. I've had the Chile Relleno too, and I get it. Fresh poblano, Oaxacan cheese, refried black beans, sour cream, pickled onion, cilantro, cotija... just yummy. I also tried the Oaxacan taco and carne asada taco, and both were absolutely on point -- juicy, flavor-packed, and straight-up And yes, Dad's jalapeño sauces are a must. The green and red both add that perfect little kick And a big win--they've got a great selection of gluten-free options (clearly marked), so it's easy to navigate if that matters to you And since it's a Mexican restaurant, I had to partake in a margarita I went with the Pinky -- Dulce Vida Grapefruit Tequila, Naranja, fresh lime juice, and fresh grapefruit juice. Very tasty. Big shoutout to Sasha at the bar super knowledgeable, great vibes, and clearly a fellow GJ foodie with great recommendations. Service has been great all around both times. Solid food, great date night spot, and worth the drive. Just my opinion... don't come at me
