We stopped in for a walk-up tasting (5 tastings for $15) and went with two whites (Pinot gris, sauv blanc) and three reds (cab franc, Syrah, petit Verdot). We generally prefer red wines and we were surprised we liked the two whites we tried the best, as we didn't like any of the reds we tried here. Really nice setting with plenty of outdoor seating and the option to walk through the vineyards, just not our favorite wine around!

Fabulous space with delicious wine! They have amazing vineyards and peach garden with breathtaking views. It's a must while on a wine crawl in Palisade. It's more of a self-serve place but sometimes it's really nice to drink wine at your own pace and get another round when you are ready but in 99.9% times you are definitely too lazy to get up while soaking all the beauty around you... Overall, we really enjoyed this place and will definitely be back!

This location has a spacious open air indoor area. They have small charcuterie boards and cheese. There is also a covered patio with limited bar stool seating that overlooks the orchard and Grand Mesa. There is a nice trail that you can walk along which brings you to the edge of the property with direct unobstructed views of the Grand Mesa. I love the wine here, and the walk is lovely, but I prefer the seating arrangements at their other colterris property. Overall great spot

While not the most green, scenic patio (like Maison's for example), this is a much better "wine tasting" experience than most in the area. For $15, you can choose any 5 wines to try from their full list. You get cute little description cards and can follow along or have the staff explain the flavors. Great variety of white, rosé, and red options too -- so something for everyone. The one winery we ended up buying a bunch of wine.

Went here while vacationing in Colorado visiting family the day after Mother's Day. We did a little Mother's Day wine tasting. We tried going to another place right before but the waiter/ manager was insanely rude and unprofessional we got up and left that establishment before ordering but we came to Colterris and it was the best experience! You walk past orchards then you're greeted by the FRIENDLIEST staff who are so knowledgeable about the wine and are never condescending (I know very little about wine and want to learn more and the woman who helped us was so patient and answered all of our questions) it was just a lot of fun. This winery helped us make some glorious memories. I'll go here every time I go to Colorado for future family visits. Thankful for this place for saving the day and my mom's Mother's Day.

Lovely wine. Pretty grounds. Shade. Malbec my favorite. Friendly staff. A must visit!

Wine menus and the descriptive cool cards that come with each wine!

Not on our original itinerary, we popped into Colterris while on the windy road through the farm lands. They definitely have ambiance on their side. A lovely outdoor sitting area with views of the grapes and a statute garden. They do charge $2.50/pp for wine tasting and they only have 3 wines, but they also will allow you purchase a glass (for like $8) and sit and soak in the surroundings. I personally loved the white cab sauv and the cab franc (which is just one of faves anywhere). Plus, I loved that you could walk around and see the vineyard, the roses and their cool sculptures. It wins for all around nice wine and atmosphere. I would recommend!

Worth a drive up to the top of the hill. Beautiful area with a great view. Their wines are delicious and even though it's not the cheapest, it's worth it for the money and by far not remotely out of price range. I prefer their sauv Blanc for their white and if you prefer a more buttery flavor I'd recommend the cab. It's a lovely place to sit and relax as opposed to tasting only. It's one of my top three places to go in the Palisades area. It is also very conveniently located to their peach farm that are by far the best in the state! They sell to Whole Foods if that tells you anything. :)

This cute little place was amazing! The workers were super knowledgeable about each wine. The coral white cab is a must try on a summer day. They have the cutest peach trees there and a pathway with a scenic view. They have outdoor and indoor seating. There's 3 tastings for $5 or 7 for $10! They give you cute cards of your tasting and a bow as a keepsake. Loved it!

Bookcliff, Vineyards…read more We found that there is a correlation between wine, lovers and dog lovers.. This is another dog friendly winery, although they will be opening up food in the tasting room, and it will cease to be available for dogs. They have a nice big gazebo outside for people to enjoy their wine. Viognier -- beautiful florals, citrus peaches notes on the nose, citrus, grapefruit. green apples, on the pallet, balanced, acidity, rich minerality with fruit. Muscat has the most beautiful nose a that can keep you smelling the aromas of lemons or for minutes before you even want to put any in your mouth. Again, nice acid and fruit balance picking up the beautiful minerality of the sedimentary rock in book cliff region. Beautiful fruit of green, apple, lemon, grapefruit. Only out sourced grape. Viognier died in 1991. So they outsource grapes to fill in the void of the white. Completely lost Cabernet Sauvignon. All the other grapes revived the next year. Albarino -- a lot different than the Albarino in Spain. So there is a little bit of seabreeze on the nose, not like in spain. . Beautiful, citrus lightly on the nose. Crisp fresh fruit , staff by nice asses on the pallet. Chardonnay-- beautiful dark, yellow color. A nice rounded citrus on the palate. Not a particularly big oak. Taste of the typical Oak because Jon put soak into teabags to give those kinds of nuances. The malolactic, fermentation, brings out a bit of butteriness. Again, high acidity balance by fruit Rosé made from cab Frank sits on the skins for an hour or two, providing a very light and orange color. Beautiful, effervescent, peachy aromas. Subtle peachy. beautiful black fruit Malbec Big lush blackberries on the palate do you know when older women have a lot to teach younger men while you're my age probably I was like older women when I was younger. I have a younger wife tell me when you get on the nose I'm gonna try the reserve. Malbec reserve, grapes, grow very close to the river, the aromas are mellow, and beautiful black fridge on the pallet. Velvety at a young age. The assets are pleasantly high because of the area of growth.Grown at hawk ridge a beautiful high minerality 2020 before the great loss of the Cabernet Sauvignon due to a winter freeze. Nice florals of roses and Cassis on the nose. $24 The ensemble This Bordeaux blend used to be a blend of Cabernet, Savignon, Merlot, Cab, Franc, and Malbec. It's beautifully emulated a Bordeaux blend. Since then they have removed the cab, Frank and it has lost that earthiness that made the blend so beautiful. It is still a lovely wine. It displays blackberries on the nose in the palate. Taste it not really I'm not picking that up. Not the chocolate I would have expected from a Merlot. It seems intentionally to be more of a New World wine that appeals to the American palate. 2022 Syrah 22.95 Just won the Governors cup as number one wine Colorado. They weren't supposed to open this, but John, the owner, said that it was good to open it for us. So Chris told me that I had to ask her to open it. Deep rich purple back. Beautiful blackberry and raspberry fruit and acids blended in such a way that they just permeate the palate twisting all around the tongue. Deeply rich. You have to try this wine. You will buy cases. We ended our tasting with a beautiful Muscato. Peaches and candied lemons on their nose. It's beautiful desert wind like the Muscato from Samos island in Greece. When you are done tasting all these wines, and you end with a Moscato, you've had the best experience of your life. Well, at least among the best.

3.5 stars. Great service, decent wine. Rosé was good, as was the sparkling rosé. Reds were ok, a…read morelittle light for the varietals, whites were good.

We were one of only two parties and soon, were solo in the tasting room which offered a great opportunity to ask questions and hear more about the winery's personal history. We even spoke to one of the vintners about the blends that make up one of their newer wines. Super cool! Many of their wines are VERY easy drinking. Head's up here, this winery can be very dangerous, lol, if you are not staying in town. We took advantage of their wine flight and choose 5 wines each. Sharing a few sips here and there gave us an opportunity to try even more. I loved so many of the whites, it was hard to choose which ones we'd take with us. What I maybe appreciated most was their handy "catalog" of each wine, the notes, dryness or maybe fruitiness and what to expect when choosing it. The staff were incredible - everything you'd want when trying new thing: friendly, educational, funny and not at all in a hurry. Carlson FTW! We took 5 bottles home! Go, maybe have lunch before and plan to take in the vineyards from their outdoor space. Gorgeous experience.

I will have to say that my star rating has a big portion to do with the experience we had which could have been determined by the time we might have gone. When we had arrived there and not a soul beside us was there for tasting (all the other wineries that day had lots of people). So it was a bit odd to walk into an empty facility with a very quiet bar tender / taster lady. She wasn't much for any conversation. We had been told it was fun, the atmosphere was friendly and the owner did the tastings and made the experience fun. But we didn't experience that at all. Now the facility was beautiful and being high on the hill, it made a nice overview of the mountains and the water creaks and ponds below. Very nice outside area. The inside is also beautiful and great since it's a house I commend them for making this so homey yet professional. Unfortunately we didn't have the experience we were hoping to, and the wine wasn't one we thought that was outstanding. I don't know I would come back, but if we do we want to experience it the way were told so we might look into their busy times and see what it was like. We were just bummed for our first taste of the day.
