2nd stop of the day was an improvement!! The tasting room is spacious and inviting. Screams vineyard. Ample seating indoors as well as outdoors up top on the second floor. The views are endless and breathtaking. The wine was good, the service was excellent and the pricing was reasonable. I would recommend stopping by when in Palisades!

I am a Carboy member in Denver so naturally had to stop here. The service, no matter the location is always amazing! The outdoor space gives a great view and comfort.

Carboy was so beautiful and I would recommend this winery to anyone! They have $17 tasting per person with live music and beautiful patio that is covered!! It is very kid friendly and they were also selling palisades peaches!

    A much needed snack!

My husband and I think it's important to support our local businesses and while the wine industry in CO is still working out some kinks, Carboy has a lot figured out. We like the variety of wine and they have some nice bold reds. The winery in Grand Junction is one of our favorites to visit because you can sit on a large deck that overlooks the vineyard. They also have an air conditioned room for when it's just too hot to be outside though that Space is small. Additionally, they serve some food which is always good when wine tasting! And the food is delicious. We are members at Carboy and can pick up our wines in Denver at another of their locations and that is also a lovely venue. The people are always friendly at both locations. This time our tastings came but the server didn't tell us about the wines. Our group was a bit disappointed about that because we like to learn about what we are drinking. I look forward to visiting again in early summer!

I've been to the one in Denver and it was a good experience. The one in Palisade was nice but I think we went too close to closing time because the staff was pretty ready to be done for the night. It's a cute winery and the tasting room was nice, not too big but big enough for a few small groups. The tasting amount was a good pour.

BEST WINERY IN PALISADE!! We did the private winemaking tour and tasting with the owner, James, and it was AMAZING! This was apart of our honeymoon and it was so special. All of his wine is well crafted and insanely good. He grows his own grapes right there and is so hands on with the creation of all his wines. Also, his dog is the cutest. Please do yourself a favor and go to this winery & vineyard.

Amazing wine experience! Easy to find off the highway and convenient parking in a small lot. We walked right in and were immediately helped by the friendly bartender. Wine was excellent (we had the Pinot Noir) and the views were spectacular with sweet vistas of Mt Garfield. Bathrooms were impeccably clean. Awesome experience! Huge uplevel from the tasting room in Breck.

What a nice discovery! When I was having a small talk with a lady who sat next to me at the tasting bar of some small winery in Palisade last month, I took notice of a Carboy Winery sticker on her water bottle (as I had a pleasure of visiting its Santa Fe location in Littleton.) She then told me that there is/was a brand new location which just opened up on G Road in Palisade. What?? I had to go check it out! I was at my max capacity of alcohol consumption after visiting more than several wineries in town earlier that day so I stepped in just to check out this new location/facility. The lady at the tasting bar was so welcoming despite the fact that I wasn't there to sample. Nice open feeling inside. The new facility was (of course) spotless impeccably. On a very hot early summer day with temperature outside hitting mid 90's F, nice cool air inside allowed me to have a little sigh of relief from the exhausting heat. The same lady said to go up to the second floor patio for a nice view. The deck barely had anyone on it. Gosh, the nice view from it would make any wine sipping more than delightful. Too bad I couldn't do it; maybe next time!! I saw a beautiful flannel shirt on the merchandise shelf. It was a bit pricey but if this was my first winery to visit (of my Palisade winery getaway) I'd have bought it! I can always go to the Littleton location and buy it if I cannot forget about it, right? Well, I'm determined to make another trip to Palisade before the snow comes in late Oct or early November in 2022. And Carboy will be the first winery to visit for sure!

Such a gem of a spot! First of all, yummy wine is a guarantee here. The staff were very friendly and they were busy! The view from their rooftop is amazing but when I arrived it was full so I sat down at the tables below, which is just as great! They have a lawn area in front of their vines with the most beautiful backdrop! Enjoyed a rose and a wine slushie! They had a grilled cheese food truck there called Underdog Cheese which was amazing also! I got prob the most non grilled cheese item, but I can't pass up Italian meats! Lol I can't wait to have another weekend trip back here and Carboy will always be a stop!

Nice people, decent wines, but nothing super special. The food truck wasn't a highlight and detracted from the ambiance.

Yes, as are quite a few wineries in that area.

We had already strung together a nice wine tour on the Friday and then we we did parks on Saturday. When we were back in town Sunday I suggested we swing back through Palisade(our Airbnb was in Grand Junction) and see if there was another bottle of wine we might like. After 1 other spot we swung by Hermosa Vineyards. It was a humbler operation than some we noted, as we pulled in. I sorta like that over a grandiose entrance. The tasting room was even more humble in size and layout. As we walked in a larger group was just leaving and bought a few wines, so I figured it must be pretty good. It was good overall. The vintner was also our bartender he said. He told us alot about the history of him and the place. We learned alot about the produce he had growing as well. We were the only customers at that moment so he was especially chatty with us. It was a nice stop, we didn't get a bottle here, but we did appreciate the vibe.

As my expectation for this small but reputable winery grew as the day of the trip was near, today, I have the pleasure of writing this 5-star review to add to others' raves after I had a wonderful time spending 30 minutes at this one of a kind winery a few days ago. Kenneth was the most experienced/knowledgeable wine makers out of all 11 places I got to visit in Palisade mid this week. He certainly knows what wine making is all about and I could taste the precision he puts into each varietal. No wonder his place is ranked one of the top Colorado wineries. Hermosa is small and quaint but big doesn't always describe the success of a/any business. I certainly see that his pride as a wine maker is reflected in the kind of winery he runs: no extravagance, no big/expensive sign. Some great business is not always on the main/busy street; hence the expression, "hidden gem". Ken's winery is a hidden gem of Colorado's wine country is an understatement. His wines are not cheap like other wineries' wines so expect pay $5 to $10 more. But once you have tasted the qualities of his wines after a flight, you WILL be convinced to buy a bottle or two.

We would of totally missed it if it hadn't been for some people we met at a restaurant. Colorado National Monument is not a National Park; it is a National Monument managed by the National Park Service. It's name doesn't portray the beauty and magnitude of this gorgeous park. It is a 23 mile drive and is often called the mini-grand canyon. The towering red rock monoliths and the Canyon views were absolutely incredible.

What bliss this is…read more Colorado National Monument is basically the smaller in scale sandstone-stacked cousin of the Grand Canyon, but without all the horrific traffic and crowds upon crowds, especially at the start of summer. This place has miles of views with gorgeous towering cliffs, dramatic canyons and many trails for walking and hiking. You can also see the Grand Mesa (the world's largest flat-topped mountain) and the Book Cliffs from the monument. And it has that Grand Canyon feeling when you look at its depth -- as though you are looking directly into a painting. Along about a 20-mile highway (with an east and west entrance) you can enjoy the full views. There are plenty of places to pull over and park to take a look or to plan for a hike. And be very, very careful. The main drive is very deeply beloved by cyclists, so be sure to drive slow and keep eyes on the road. Do not miss Independence Monument. This is a glorious rock spire. also, the Kissing Couple is adorable. The Coke Ovens are these beautifully shaped domes -- some of my favorites in the area. Also, be aware of wildlife. I did not get lucky, but there are regular sights of bighorn sheep, coyotes, red-tailed hawks, eagles and many other animals. I did see a pretty spectacular aerial fight between a hawk and a raven during a recent visit, though. Also, be sure to check out the visitor center on the west side. It has some natural history exhibits and a gift shop. There is also the Saddlehorn Campground, which is very well maintained and has a good number of spots, but not all with sprawling city or canyon views. All told, there are three loops with nearly 80 sites. Some are small and best for a pair and others that are good for a couple of tents on one site. Overall, bring lots of water and snacks, because it is dry and sometimes feels desert like. And do not over rely on cell service, as there are a number of dead zones.
