My burger was amazing!!!!! Double Patty, lettuce, egg, jalapeño, pickle, cheddar with a side of ranch. Service took a while but it was busy which is always a good sign. If you're going to eat in Packwood in the off season, options are really limited. However we found a spot that's great year round. Cliff droppers has delicious burgers. I got the Hawaiian and they were happy to accommodate and lettuce wrap it! Hawaiian has Canadian bacon, cheese and pineapple topping the burger. Side of tots were amazing (double fried I think because these are out of this world crispy) could have used a touch more salt on the tots but so so delicious. Never had tots crispier anywhere else before. They have seating inside and outside. We opted for outside with Covid going on still and there were a good amount of seats rotating through. This is a neat little place in the middle of now where. They have outside seating where dogs are allowed. There is also inside seating. We all ordered the Bacon Blue Cheese burger. A nice little place for a lunch stop on scenic highway 12. We stopped in on our way home from Mt Rainier. The atmosphere is low-key and casual; various ski, mountain, and Sasquatch themed pictures and decor cover the walls. It's the kind of place that's perfect for a cold beer and a hot meal on a cool Northwest fall day. I ordered the elk burger with fries and a side of BBQ sauce (50 cents extra). The burger was the perfect thickness and flavor was on point. Boyfriend LOVED his burger. Said it was super juicy and the perfect texture and thickness Only minor complaint was that mine was a bit on the dry side, but elk is naturally lean so I can understand that. Fries were ok, nothing really special. What did bum me out though was that the BBQ and ranch sauces were not made in house - they were those cheap little containers like the ones you usually find at a gas station. Considering the up charge, I would have really liked something fresh and homemade. In all though, I would say 3.5 stars. The burgers are not cooked to order--which is fine for this kind of diner-style, well-done burger spot--but they're made with fatty beef so they weren't even close to being dry. The toppings were all fresh and the potato roll/buns were perfect for holding in all the stuff without being too bread-y. It's hard to F up tots, these were cooked to crispy perfection and when dipped in the fry sauce, there was nothing that could have improved the meal!
