We stopped by around 830am-9am on a Sunday with our 2 kids. It's a small Cafe ,decorated in old Eatonville sports memorabilia. The ambiance was cute, cozy and quiet. We ordered apple juice ,coffee, the Cruiser Country Benedict, Cruiser Scrambler and a half order of biscuits and gravy. The portions were big, so I shared the scrambler with my 1.5yr and 5yr old. We stopped here on a whim while heading to Rainier and quickly realized we came a across a hidden gem. To begin, the service was super friendly. We were helped out super quickly and they were so patient. They also had a lot of different food options. I tried the burger and it was solid, but I think what really stood out was the tater tots. This is diner food. Hands down, the best diner food in this lovely town of Eatonville... and possibly the surrounding area. The place looks like an old house, that was converted into a restaurant space, probably because it was, and that's okay, because the place is pumping out solid food for all the people coming back from, or going to Mount Rainier. We came here because we were hungry coming back from Paradise, and all we wanted was a darn good burger, crinkle cut fries, and milkshakes. They have all that and more... I had a well portioned and wonderful tasting sandwich, the kiddo had probably one of the best grilled cheese, and wife had a soup/salad. Everything was just delicious, and yes, as others have stated, it takes a while for the food to show up. That's okay, because you know they are taking their time, either because the kitchen is small, or they are making it to order... but who cares, when it gets delivered to your seat, it's hot and wonderful. The service is also exactly what you want, simple, no frills, and perfection. They do care about you being happy, and will do what they can to make sure you are delighted, which I felt like they came by exactly the number of times I would have wanted, and by the time we left, our bellies were ready for the long drive back to Seattle. We stopped here before a visit to NW trek and enjoyed our meal. I got a teriyaki hamburger with no bun and tater tots. The hamburger itself was seasoned nicely but the tots could have used some more seasoning and maybe a few minutes longer in the fryer. My mom got a French dip and said it was pretty standard but still good. She really enjoyed the au jus. We did originally come here for breakfast but they must only do that on the weekends or something because they weren't offering it at 11am on a weekday. After spending the morning climbing the mountain, a friend and I decided to stop here for a bite to eat. We arrived around 2pm on a Saturday and we were seated right away when we walked in. The Cafe is small and quaint, with approximately 10 tables or so. Our serve was kind and patient throughout the entire experience. We were in Ashford for the weekend for our anniversary and on our way home we were looking for somewhere good to eat so we looked up reviews and thought we'd try Cruisers. We came in and they have a little gift shop with candles, cups, and wax melts that are all made locally, which we love to be able to support someone local. The cups are tumbler type cups and some that are like mason jars. Great way to support a local business and get some good food. We had Andrew has our Waiter and he was kind, kept checking on us, was quick to get us anything we needed, and did a great job. We got the school burger and Ruben sandwich, both were great. Stopped in on a Monday after the lunch rush when we were in the area at NW Trek. People still inside and outside eating (outside order at window). The other day when I came in, to eat, I ordered the chopped steak dinner which claimed to have a half a pound of meat and other items included for $18.99. Unfortunately the hamburger patty was so thin, It looked like it had been incinerated. It looked like one of those preformed patties you buy in a frozen package at Walmart. It did not look like real meat and it did not taste like real meat and no way that was a half a pound of meat . There was no life left in it. No juice, It was dry and actually inedible. The green beans looked like the air had been let out of them and they were wrinkled up prunes on my plate. The baked potato was good. The garlic toast was good, the salad good. But at the end of the day, I spent $24 on a lifeless unsatisfying meal. I highly recommend you get real meat and hand form the Patty for the dinner... Some friends and I spontaneously swung by on our way back from snowshoeing up at Rainier. We had been talking about huckleberry milkshakes almost the entire way down from the visitor center but then didn't really put much effort into finding a place that sold them until an ad played on the radio playing Kelis' "Milkshake" song from the early 2000's and we all decided we needed to find a place quick. We happened to be in Eatonville when this happened and one of my friends said there was a pretty good spot if we turned left immediately, so we did, and found ourselves at Cruiser Cafe. We ordered an assortment of shakes and sides - I got a pineapple shake, sweet potato fries with honey mustard, and a white chocolate cranberry cookie. All three hit the spot. We sat in the car and started munching on the sides, and the group consensus was that they were perfectly salted, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and paired with the sauces were just *chef's kiss.* The shake was also quite delicious, though I struggled to suck the pineapple chunks through the straw, so a wider straw would have been nice but luckily I wasn't driving so I was able to pop the lid off and pour the chunks into my mouth. I saved the cookie for later, but once I had it I wished I would have gotten two. It was a chunky cookie! No skimping on the cranberries or white chocolate chunks on this one! Solid American Home cooking! I feel like places like this are a dying breed which is sad but gald for this place. The menu is quintessential American. Burgers, steaks, pastas, etc. I had chicken fried steak and it was terrific. Super crispy crust, the tender sreak inside. Not chewy or stringy, bravo. But the extras really set this place apart. First off, a mini loaf of bread included. It was soft and warm! Whipped butter. I can't even remember last time i got warm bread anywhere that wasn't $$$$. Dinner came with salad. Big portions. Ice tea with lemon. They brought out a fresh glsss refill without me asking. That's great service. Restaurant is a converted house, cute inside. Definitely recommend for good old home cooking. Stopped by after a day of sledding. Wanted somewhere that we could sit and eat, even if it was outdoors. Reviews on Yelp looked good, so why not? Service was friendly and the staff was welcoming in offer suggestions and opinions. Some of our party had burgers, while other had fried fish/shrimp. I opted for something a little less "fast foodish" and chose the meatloaf. Everyone seemed happy with their food. The fish was well seasoned...instead of a filet, the fish was cut into pieces. The tartar sauce was a bit more mayo than anything else...didnt too much care for it, but since the fish was well seasoned I was fine eating it just the way it came. The meatloaf was not the greatest, but it was a hearty meal for sure as it also come with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, soup or salad, a mini loaf of bread and last but not least...ICE CREAM! Stopped in at this little diner (in older house) on way to camping at Alder Lake. It was ON Labor Day at 1:00 so we were happy to see it open and actually quite busy. Only couple tables available, thankfully seated right away. Very casual but fine, waitresses friendly while rushing around. Menu has plenty of options and serves breakfast (ends at 11:00), lunch & dinner. Appreciated the variety of side choices that come with burgers/sandwiches without an up charge. Hubby ordered a classic turkey club w/ fries (they serve crinkle cut) and I had the turkey/cranberry/cream cheese sandwich on fresh croissant w/tots. Forgot to mention we started with sodas and an order of onion rings which came out in a shocking 5 mins. Large basket of crispy sweet goodness. Our entrees came out under 10mins after that. For being so busy it was impressive! The kitchen staff is definitely on top of their game as well. Both our sandwiches were tasty. I would have liked more cranberry and cr. cheese as it was really a thin layer getting lost between the turkey and lettuce. Hubby had no issues and although crinkle cut not his favorite as long as their hot/crispy he's happy. Tots were nice and crispy as well. Servings are really good, fairly priced. They were nice in not charging for ranch and tarter sauces and brought plenty. Definitely will be back and recommend.
