We ordered almost half the menu due to coming with a large party. Good thing they have plenty of parking! While waiting, I noticed there's actually stuff to do and look at. I ventured off to the fruit stand to buy some cheap baskets of surprisingly amazing quality fruit. The food came out reasonably fast for what we ordered. ​I can't say much about the service, as it's a walk up window style establishment that doesn't have indoor dining. It's actually pretty small, with barely enough room for the workers and all their supplies. Hats off to those people for making it happen! So yeah, not much customer service besides the ordering and pickup. They all seemed fairly professional and pleasant, in my opinion. ​Was the food worth it? Yes. The prices were okay not cheap, but not pricey either. I got a decent amount of food for what I paid. My burger wasn't very pretty, but it had a nice balance of simple flavors. I devoured it about as fast as I could. The fries were super salty, crunchy, and mushy all at the same time, and I loved it. WOW! So disappointed in our visit today and we'll likely never come back. We drove over an hour to have a delicious burger, onion rings and shakes. The burger was so greasy that the grease was running around the bun in the wrapper. The meat tasted like cardboard and the bun was beyond soggy. Nasty! Onion rings were ok.... The milkshakes were also pretty nasty with chunks of frost or ice. I ordered a peanut butter shake, but it might as well have been a cup of peanut butter. The best part of the meal was the goop sauce and then throwing it away. What a waste of money and gas! It's sad because this place used to be incredible! read more

It was just OK; ordered a bacon double cheeseburger ($15) and a side of onion rings ($6). Mustard for the onion rings = 50 cents for three little packets. Staff had been polite and the food came out quickly. Picnic tables out front to eat; they didn't look like they had been wiped down for a while (I was there before noon). I had my first burger at Scale years ago after a multi-night back packing trip. The burger was so fresh and delicious! I wasn't sure if my taste buds were just past due after eating dehydrated food or what. So, I traveled from Seattle back to Scale back in June only to find out they were closed:*( due to staffing issues. So I headed across the street to the train restaurant and ended up with one of the juiciest blue cheese burgers and hand cut fries, but Scale was still my "Go-To" place!! Visited Scaleburgers for the very first time today (7/6/24) with some friends. Ordered the Overload burger which was absolutely delicious. I expressed my gratitude to the young ladies who prepared my meal in sweltering conditions while maintaining a positive attitude. My burger was moist and the condiments were fresh and added a nice touch to my sandwich. This place is fine - I pass through this area every week and stop by infrequently. For a better drive-in spot I prefer HUFF 'N' PUFF on Highway 12. At Scale Burgers you order at the window of the shack and the service is usually pretty quick but there can be a wait depending on when you catch them. Once you receive your meal you can sit at the picnic tables they have around or take to your car. The Classic Burger is a backyard style burger, it's tasty but there's nothing too special about it. It's overpriced for what it is and given how casual this place is. They're only open during the summer, so I guess they have to make their money on the tourists to/from Mt. Rainier during the summer to last them throughout the year. If you're passing by, it's a serviceable burger but don't go out of your way to get it. read more

Left Mt. Rainier and saw this little spot on the way in wanted to stop as the railroad dinning was a little slower and short staffed! Ordered the veggie burger and it came out perfectly cooked (black bean burgers) with all the veggies and their secret sauce. Ordered onion rings they were perfectly crunchy! Stopped at Scale Burgers on our way to the Mountain. Great burger, fresh ingredients, soft bun. The sauce on the burger is their fry sauce, which is a lightly seasoned mayo and matched well with the burger and onion rings (breaded not battered, very good). I have to say that this place is incredible. I was so happy to see a family hamburger stand. I was really happy with my double burger with bacon and cheese. The ladies working there were great too. We rode motorcycles there and got there at 11:50. Everybody went to different places to eat and agreed to meet back at the rally point at 1pm to leave. About 6 of us tried Scale Burgers. I ordered a deluxe burger and strawberry shake it it took 75 minutes to get it!!! It was 1:10 when I got my food and it was mediocre at best. I've NEVER had to wait that long for food! It was the only place in Elbe I've never tried before and it's the last time I'll go there. $13 for a burger and shake and the wait was miserable! read more

My grandfather told me this was his favorite place to eat burgers with his friends when he was young and in the area. He especially hyped up the fries. He took me when I was a kid and it really lived up to the hype. You guys sure know how to sauce a burger!! Eventually we convinced the whole family to come hike around Mt. Central loacated within the very small and beautiful village of Elbe, is the Burger Bar "Scaleburger". Staff was very friendly and recognized that we were Germans and switched immediately to German language (she is coming from Darmstadt). Small but nice menue. We have had chili cheese fries and a Burger with Jalapenos. Fries could have been a bit more crispy, the Burger was just perfect. Price is within "middle range". Will come again!! Crazy pricey for frozen food that you just fry up. The sole reason this place is in business still is because there is no McDonald's nearby. My order was two (2) burgers and one (1) French fry and came out to $19.56. The girl made sure to calculate my order the good old pen paper and carry over technique because they can't afford a calculator. My measly order took around ~25 mins. We stopped here on the way out of Mt Rainier because the last time we came, the food and service were great and it's a cute little spot. This time was none of those things. We were quoted a 25 minute wait for our food. When we got it, the fries were cold. The burgers are not worth the money paid. They are small and don't taste amazing. The redeeming factor was the shakes. The workers continually told people it was a 45 minute wait even after several people left due to the quoted wait. Several hundred dollars of business were lost due to the quoted wait even though there were few orders ahead of them. read more

The Cheeseburgers were really good, super saucy and a huge mess to eat, but worth it. I didn't even try the fries...they looked, well really gross. Like large frozen steak fries with canned chile with cheese that wasn't melted all the way, so I would say pass on those. The hamburgars are big enough to fill you up. Also they only except cash. My grandparents had been bringing their friends here for years and we finally were able to stop and experience Scaleburger coming back from Mount Rainier. Cash only so be prepared and picnic tables all around with umbrellas. We were not disappointed at all! Yes the prices are high but they are a small business and it is expensive to run a small business these days in the middle of nowhere. Support them as they really do want you to have a good experience! The burger was delicious with everything prepared well and the fries were big! I noticed that not only was my order skipped not once, twice but FOUR time. I proceed top ask hit once but twice if my number was called & maybe I didn't hear. A rude young girl ( without even looking) stated: No ma'am it's not as is calling another 6 burger order that was behind me. I know this because I commented on the cost. If a zero was available I would give it, plain and simple. I stopped here with my nephews on our way down from Mt. Rainier because we needed a bite and the next nearest place was quite a drive. First off, the prices. It's my thought that maybe they're capitalizing off of being the only burger joint for miles. Either way, it's not justified in the food. I felt as though I was eating from a lesser than fast food class burger joint. The fries were subpar, with more sogginess than crisp, and almost no taste. The burger was sparse and bland. It's condiments tasted old and did nothing to improve the burger itself. If I were just going for calories it may have been okay, but when I order a cheeseburger I expect a certain level of taste and texture which was not met here. This may seem harsh, but I was let down to the point where writing this review makes me angry. My nephews even comment on how no place we go could be worse.
