Visited Scaleburgers for the very first time today (7/6/24) with some friends. Ordered the Overload burger which was absolutely delicious. I expressed my gratitude to the young ladies who prepared my meal in sweltering conditions while maintaining a positive attitude. This place is fine - I pass through this area every week and stop by infrequently. For a better drive-in spot I prefer HUFF 'N' PUFF on Highway 12. At Scale Burgers you order at the window of the shack and the service is usually pretty quick but there can be a wait depending on when you catch them. Once you receive your meal you can sit at the picnic tables they have around or take to your car. The Classic Burger is a backyard style burger, it's tasty but there's nothing too special about it. It's overpriced for what it is and given how casual this place is. They're only open during the summer, so I guess they have to make their money on the tourists to/from Mt. Rainier during the summer to last them throughout the year. If you're passing by, it's a serviceable burger but don't go out of your way to get it. read more

Left Mt. Rainier and saw this little spot on the way in wanted to stop as the railroad dinning was a little slower and short staffed! Ordered the veggie burger and it came out perfectly cooked (black bean burgers) with all the veggies and their secret sauce. Ordered onion rings they were perfectly crunchy! The sauce on the burger is their fry sauce, which is a lightly seasoned mayo and matched well with the burger and onion rings (breaded not battered, very good). We rode motorcycles there and got there at 11:50. Everybody went to different places to eat and agreed to meet back at the rally point at 1pm to leave. About 6 of us tried Scale Burgers. I ordered a deluxe burger and strawberry shake it it took 75 minutes to get it!!! It was 1:10 when I got my food and it was mediocre at best. I've NEVER had to wait that long for food! It was the only place in Elbe I've never tried before and it's the last time I'll go there. $13 for a burger and shake and the wait was miserable! read more

Central loacated within the very small and beautiful village of Elbe, is the Burger Bar "Scaleburger". Staff was very friendly and recognized that we were Germans and switched immediately to German language (she is coming from Darmstadt). Small but nice menue. We stopped here on the way out of Mt Rainier because the last time we came, the food and service were great and it's a cute little spot. This time was none of those things. We were quoted a 25 minute wait for our food. When we got it, the fries were cold. The burgers are not worth the money paid. They are small and don't taste amazing. The redeeming factor was the shakes. The workers continually told people it was a 45 minute wait even after several people left due to the quoted wait. My grandparents had been bringing their friends here for years and we finally were able to stop and experience Scaleburger coming back from Mount Rainier. Cash only so be prepared and picnic tables all around with umbrellas. We were not disappointed at all! Yes the prices are high but they are a small business and it is expensive to run a small business these days in the middle of nowhere. If a zero was available I would give it, plain and simple. I stopped here with my nephews on our way down from Mt. Rainier because we needed a bite and the next nearest place was quite a drive. First off, the prices. It's my thought that maybe they're capitalizing off of being the only burger joint for miles. Either way, it's not justified in the food. I felt as though I was eating from a lesser than fast food class burger joint. The fries were subpar, with more sogginess than crisp, and almost no taste. The burger was sparse and bland. It's condiments tasted old and did nothing to improve the burger itself. If I were just going for calories it may have been okay, but when I order a cheeseburger I expect a certain level of taste and texture which was not met here. This may seem harsh, but I was let down to the point where writing this review makes me angry. My nephews even comment on how no place we go could be worse.
