Our main bathroom on the second floor needed a complete makeover, and for that we wanted to hire a crew with lots of bathroom renovation experiences (specifically DC home renos) and one who could quickly finish the job in 2-3 weeks. Due to an ugly experience we had previously with another contractor, found through Angie's List, to renovate our basement, I was very nervous and not looking forward to hiring another contractor from hell-o. A little side story on the company who did our basement. These guys are well-known in the NOVA area and have an A+ rating on Angie's, but they were overpriced, took 5 months to complete the project, and caused serious damages (e.g., short-circuited our TV and wine fridge and caused partial flooding due to plumbing negligence). Anyway, back to the main story...Our bathroom was in a very bad shape (i.e., cracks in along the shower tiles, mold build up in the cracks, a 100-year old broken window, and a barely functional toilet) and as such, it needed to be done. We turned to Yelp this time and reached out to five vendors based on reviews/ratings and decided to put our faith in Click Constructions. I had an initial meeting with Alan to go over the specs/requirements and decided to sign the contract that day. Within weeks, he had his window guy, Steve, come in for the measurements and also had his crew, led by one of his best guys, Marlin, begin the demonstration and the renovation. Demonstration literally only took one day, thank goodness. We had 11-month old baby, and so I was especially nervous about potential debris and poor air quality. The crew was very mindful of that fact and took extra measures to minimize dust and also cover all the floors to prevent property damage. Alan helped pick out some of the bathroom hardware/accessories when I couldn't decide (e.g., the medicine cabinet, shower head, sink faucet, etc.). And I'm glad that he did, because I was quite pleased with the look and quality of the selected fixtures. Overall, I am super happy with how everything turned out and am very impressed with how efficiently Alan, Marlin and the rest of his Click Constructions crew carried out the project. I was initially skeptical and had feared the worst, but the reno turned out to be seamless! The parts were ordered and delivered on time. The crew worked diligently every single day and finished the job in just two weeks. They also cleaned the area before leaving each day. Seriously, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. A couple of lessons learned from all this - (1) only use Yelp going forward as great Yelp ratings/reviews don't lie and (2) good contractors really do act in their clients' best interests. I had a master bath renovation done (my first reno so nothing to compare it to). I found Click on Yelp and the reviews/pics looked good so I gave them a call. I am very happy with my new bathroom!! It's a remarkable improvement. They gutted the bathroom and removed a Jacuzzi tub, shower stall, a useless half-wall by the toilet and a double sink - all gone! They built a new wall on the end of the tub and put the extra vanity in the remaining space. Added lights over the extra vanity and a recessed light over the tub. Now I have a very beautiful bathroom and the bathtub of my dreams. I've wanted to do this for YEARS!!! I never thought I could get rid of that jacuzzi especially being on the 4th floor! Overall it was pretty quick, about 2 1/2 weeks (there was a few days delay at the end getting the granite in, otherwise it would have been 2 weeks exactly). The owner Alan was very helpful and friendly and told me what to get, where to get it and even offered to bring samples but I wanted to go to the tile/granite places myself to see all options as it was my first reno and it was exciting. Marlin was the main worker every day and he was great, very friendly and did exceptional work especially the flooring and tile which I think look amazing! It's a messy job and if you do this your bedroom is out of commission for the duration with tools, supplies and basically very dusty but that's to be expected with construction. They do put up some plastic over your furniture and at the end they clean it up pretty well but you'll still need a good going over yourself at the end. I bought the lights from Amazon and they added a dimmer switch which works great. They hung the mirrors, towel racks and shower curtain rod, painted and put new baseboards. The fan I had worked but Alan recommend a new quiet one and I'm so glad we did that, and I even picked up a new vent cover so now everything is brand new. I'm definitely already thinking of future projects as I need a lot of work done around the condo as soon as I can come up with the money I'll definitely contact Alan at Click again. Working with Alan and his company has been excellent. We are very happy with their work, the professionalism, and the knowledge they have. This is the third time we've used them for a major project in our apartment. The first time was our kitchen cabinets, then the painting of our living room/loft (I would've done this except we have really high ceilings, and I'm not up for that), and now we did our floors. We had the original carpet, which was outdated and too worn, out and we put engineered hardwood floors. The difference is astounding. Alan was excellent in his recommendation. He was also very knowledgeable in the pricing. He presented us with a great, quality product. No cheap stuff. He also went above and beyond to find soundproofing that would meet the standards of our HOA. He found such a good product that out HOA was very happy and approved or project quickly. The day of the project, his guys were right on time, sharp. They did EVERYTHING: tearing out the carpet, moving furniture, installing, cutting... everything. They obviously knew what they were doing and were very efficient. I didn't see any waste of good material (I would've screwed up a bunch of planks). For the amount of saw dust that they created, I saw very little of it afterwards. The result of the work was simply stunning. I don't see anything that needs to be corrected. Ever since my experience with Click Construction and Remodeling, I've been trying to sum up the words for the customer service and service that I received. Last week, I had an appointment scheduled with a local handyman company to install a semi-frameless shower door. When the day arrives, my already crazy day turned into a terrible day. I had been waiting to have this door installed for quite some time. Well, I'll just say that the local company received the worst review that I could give after they cancelled on me the day of and provided the worst service. Since I'm a stickler about customer service, I knew I was not going to use the local company for anything else again. Within minutes, I received a response from the Owner, Alan, telling me to give him a call. I have got to say that he embodies what a business owner should be. He was very personable and I was laughing within the first thirty seconds of the conversation. I felt at ease. I told him my dilemma and he asked if he could call me back in a few minutes and try to work something out. To my surprise, he called back and had an appointment set up for my install the next morning with one of his employees, Rodolfo. I was elated but I still needed them to show up so I was a little nervous after the terrible day I had. The next morning...Rodolfo not only showed up but he showed up on time. I was in love at that moment. Lol. Rodolfo was very personable, he explained everything, and he was well prepared (made his store run before getting here). Throughout his visit, he kept me posted on his progress. After the install, the shower door looks great, works great, and it's installed properly. He cleaned up after himself to include any dust from the tile cutting (drop cloths were also laid before working). Based on positive Yelp reviews and the fact that they were located in Ashburn, I called Click Construction for an estimate to remodel a bathroom. The owner, Alan, replied promptly and gave me an estimate on paper of his labor and materials costs. Other costs would be variable based on what type of tile/vanity/fixtures I purchased. I could pick those out and buy them myself. Alan and his crew (Leo and Ronnie) were easy to work with. Very responsive to questions, and if there was a problem, it was quickly fixed. I also had them fix my crumbling brick steps and Eric, the professional mason, did a good job matching the patchwork. I also ordered a new back door from Alan. It is a beautiful Provia door and the installers were excellent, even saving the old lock for me to use on another door. After talking with friends and neighbors about their remodels, I found that Click's price was very good and competitive. I would call Alan again for future work. read more

Bogus. I did not have a great experience with Click Construction. Why? Because they didn't show up for an appointment to sign a contract, nor did they notify me that they couldn't make it. Nor did they call the next few days after that to apologize. Impressive. Of the conversations I did have prior to the skipped appointment, I found Alan to be entertaining to talk to but he did not display the moxy of someone who worked in construction -- that is, someone who did the work or supervised crews -- prior to forming his own company. Rather, he talked like a salesman who may have worked for a construction company. My project presented one serious structural problem and another framing issue that he expressed absolutely no curiosity about nor knowledge of how his crew would solve it. That raised a flag. The other thing that raised a flag is the pressure he placed on me to accommodate filling his crew's schedule rather than me, the customer. The impression left is that it's all about Alan and his cash flow. And the fact that they were available to start in a week -- during the height of remodeling season -- also concerned me. read more

After researching for a good construction company for a few months because I had a bad experience in the past. I was reading so many reviews for so many companies. I came across Click Construction and Remodeling here on Yelp and they had 4 1/2 stars, I decided to contact the company. I was in contact with Alan within the hour via e-mail. I was describing to him my needs for construction, which was constructing a new half bath in my basement. Alan not only said they could do it the way I wanted but they could do it exactly how I wanted. In which, I originally wanted a half bath under the basement stairs. I scheduled a time for Alan to come out and see the space. After seeing the space he reconfirmed what I wanted complete was attainable. He did suggest a full bathroom with a standing shower could be better for the space. While it would cost a little more but it was not a pressured suggestion. I told him I would think it over a let him know, he understood and let it go. After having a few contractors come and give me estimates. I decided Click Construction was the better fit. I also decided to go with Alan's suggestion of a full bath because it made more sense as I thought about what he said. In doing so I needed more space and that required my laundry room being moved. With such a big job in my head I thought that would be expensive but Alan assured it would not be and he came through with that assurance. Click Construction and Remodeling is one of the most competitive construction companies in this area. Throughout the remodeling process, it was great and effortless. I picked out the vanity, lighting, toilet, flooring and paint. It all came together beautifully. Alan is amazing, the energy he gives off and very positive and sprinted. Also, when you need him he is there for you to get in touch with him. He makes time around your schedule to meet with you. The guys he has working for him are nice, respectful and clean. They make sure they clean up or straighten up on a daily basis. When all said and done, the only thing you have to supply on your own is the toilet paper and paint. Alan, the owner, was great to work with and a genuinely good guy - not something you find in every contractor. His suggestions about materials and ground plans were spot on and made the whole project better. His crew was everything you could want - professional, courteous, timely. My project consisted of framing and finishing an unfinished basement including adding a new bathroom, new stairs, building closet space and a laundry room and remodeling another bathroom. After talking with the company, we were excited about their impressive resume of jobs, as well as their ideas relating to finishing our basement. The quote given was very reasonable given the extensive scope of work, so we hired them....and are so very grateful we did! The completed basement is amazing....all the work was done timely, the crew was very professional and respective of our schedules, great with my dog, and the finished product maintains beautiful, custom detail with quality workmanship. A few things you should watch for do not pay them the balance until every last thing is done because then they will not do it they also don't know how to put a microwave in and they messed up the microwave so bad that I had to get a new one and the guy hacked the inside of the cabinet and they brought one person to paint the kitchen and put the microwave in and the microwave is a two person job Alan although was friendly in the beginning if you question something he will tell you you have no idea what you're talking about I gave him cash for the painting and he never finished it so careful giving him money wait till the cabinets are put in before you give him that installment and wait till the end till you give him that money because all work will stop. He was really good for the first week but then had some troubles getting everything completed on time. As with any contractor make sure your contract is rock solid. Long story short: If you're looking to get some work done on your home, you've found the right place -- from our experience, Alan and his guys were the best people for the job. Our story: We had Click replace the shower in our master bathroom at the end of January and we couldn't be more satisfied -- it looks great, it works great, an they finished the job in the exact timeframe and for the exact price they said they would. It's hard to get much better than that. It's been a couple of months since the job was done (sorry to Click for the delay on this review!) -- but the good thing about having waited this long is that we can really confirm that Click really did an incredible job. The whole reason we wanted to get the shower replaced to begin with was that it was old, gross, and water was leaking behind the tiles and down into our first floor. Now we have a beautiful new shower -- tiled from floor to ceiling with a great-looking nook cut in -- without even a hint of leaking (thanks to Alan's guys professionally sealing it in). These guys really were consummate professionals -- beyond the work being really good, they also told us it would take a week and that's exactly how long it took -- they showed up, rolled out plastic wrap to keep the house clean, did the work when they said they would, and then they were gone. We really appreciated that type of professionalism from them. As for cost, I'm sure you could find a cheaper contractor out there -- but if you're looking for the absolute cheapest price, you're asking for trouble -- from all the contractors we priced out, Alan was very competitive, and a very fair price for the peace of mind that the team coming to your house is doing great and professional work. I bought a house with a 20-foot high retaining wall in the back and no way to get over it to the part of the property behind it. We needed to build stairs, but these couldn't be normal stairs -- they'd need to be really high and on rocky terrain -- and there was no easy access to the location to get supplies back there. I wasn't sure I could even find anyone to attempt the job, but Alan was up for the challenge! The project ended up being a lot trickier than anyone had anticipated due to the terrain and the weather, but Alan, Steve, and his team weren't deterred. They were determined to find a way to make it work, and they did (and at a more than reasonable price for the amount of work they had to put in). We needed a shower to be redone in our master bath. After a month of searching through contractors and getting quotes, we found Alan and Click Construction. Alan was the only company that gave me a straight quote right away. All the other contractors beat around the bush and made the quote process extra long and painful. And because I didn't want a full bathroom renovation, many of them tried to convince me to do one cause it'll make their companies look better. Not Alan, he was just there to help me get what I want. I really like his attitude of don't worry about it and we'll take care of it. It made the whole process smoother. We also had a bit of an issue with the subfloor being damaged from the old shower pan leaking and Alan was nice enough to work though some different options to help us financially to get this critical issue fixed. Most of the work was done by Marlon. Marlon was one of the best contractors I've worked with. His tile work is spot on. He didn't just slap on some tiles like some of the cheaper option contractors, he would make sure the walls are plumb (which made the shower door installation a lot nicer) and the grout line are even. I'm very impressed with his work. He's also nice enough to explain to you what he did if you're interested. He certainly taught me a few things. Overall, my experience with Click Construction was great. If you like doing partial bath renovations (cause you want to paint and finishing touches) this is the company to use.
