I accidentally wrote a review for this place that was intended for the Middle Eastern spot on Cordova and I feel so bad. I am not a fan of that place, but I DO enjoy the food at this spot. The gyro is a ton of food and the meat is very well-seasoned. I'm not crazy about the pita bread here, but mostly only because it's more filling and heavy than I like. The Lebanese falafel here is also very tasty, although I'd say nine times out of ten I'd prefer the lamb gyro. The prices are very fair, particularly for Santa Fe, and the food comes pretty quickly. The service is basic and not always friendly, but I feel for anyone who has to put up with Santa Feans regularly, so I excuse these folks. read more

Can't say enough about this place and the freshness they maintain as standard. The lamb is always just right and even the simple salads are above par. The baba ganouge is outstanding. Been coming here for at least 15 years. As a local, this place is great. read more

Cleopatra Cafe - Cleopatra plate. All lamb. Baba. Yum. Yum. Yum!!! - Mediterranean Near Me - Santa Fe, New Mexico

Awesome food - fresh & very tasty. Highly recommend, so don't hesitate and enjoy! Grub Hub was fantastic. Order arrived in about 20 minutes. Overall, extremely satisfied. Thanks CC!!! read more

So good, and the employees at this location are super nice. Spicy falafel in a fresh pita was the best lunch I've had in months, and the hummus was super fresh and delicious. This restaurant and Pizza Centro are the best businesses in the almost vacant Design Center. read more

Cleopatra's is a take out joint in a shopping center, so don't come here expecting a restaurant, as we did, or you will be disappointed. And don't expect any unique or cozy ambience either. That aside, the food is pretty good. It tasted fresh and had a good consistency - soup, hummus, falafel. However, the chicken was very well done and therefore tough. And everything was bland - no spices or seasonings! The upside is that nothing was greasy, as take-out middle eastern often is. And this place is not strictly Mediterranean; despite the Greek vestiges, it definitely has a middle eastern flare. If I lived locally, I might come here for take out. But if you are visiting Santa Fe, skip Cleopatra's and opt for something more charming! read more

A friend and I had lunch here, had it not been for Yelp we would have NEVER ventured into this center/plaza/mall on our trip to New Mexico. It's actually a pretty cool property but dead as the proverbial doornail on this Sat. afternoon. We got the hummus, a gyro sandwich and a sheesh tewook (?sp) and everything was pretty good, although certainly not anything like the Chicago style gyros or even any Greek food that I've ever had. My guess is the proprietors are from Egypt and hence a little family twist on typical Mediterreanean recipes. It all worked out well and the staff was just great! read more

A great food-court like Egyptian restaurant. The meals are inexpensively priced, average sized portions. The people behind the counter are pretty nice and food is delivered to your table. I love the [tomato] mussel soup the most. Their chicken dishes are surpurb, very delicious. The falafels and gyros are a little more lack-luster - flavors seemed subdued - yet are still decent. read more

Good food, good prices, good locations. It's not fancy, but I'm not sure it needs to be. Oh and make sure you get extra pita bread with your hummus... they only give you four (!?!!) triangle pieces... read more

I should probably give 3 stars, but I really enjoyed my gyro! (Expensive) but large portioned and delicious! My wife, on the other hand (whom is more experienced in this kind of cuisine) was very unhappy!! And as we all know,..."NO ONE IS HAPPY IF MAMA-BEAR AINT HAPPY"! She ordered the Babaganush and Falafel both of which were overpriced . Falafel were not crunchy at all, and the pita were soggy. Only ate here 1 time, so?.. everyone is entitled to a bad day, but i'll go to Taos and feed my Mediterranean cravings anytime i'm near this area! read more

I generally love this place BUT tonight I came in at about ten till eight.. was informed that they were only taking to go orders.. ok not my favorite but fine.. ordered 30$ in food including two pieces of baklava.. got home... no baklava.. was charged for baklava.. got home after 8 no answer on the phone when I called.. not thrilled read more

Ordered thru grubhub. Was pretty good, packaging was not ideal (way too many boxes). Disappointed because the order was very delayed and also didn't receive two items we ordered, the falafel and the French fries. Would def recommend thinking twice before ordering or if you do, expect not to receive part of your order. read more

We ordered after a day on the slopes and we were thrilled they delivered and the confirmation said 35-50 min BUT it arrived in maybe 20! Everything was delicious! We don't have Mediterranean /Middle East food where we live and this hit the spot! Thank you for the seamless and quick order and delivery! read more

During these challenging times, I have ordered food from Cleopatra Cafe numerous time. Now I am "hooked" on the Gyros Sandwich, the Cairo Chicken Plate and the Greek Salad. Excellent food at reasonable prices read more

I must admit, it's off the beaten path. When you first come up on it, you wouldn't really expect greatness. But greatness is what you get. The atmosphere to eat in is rather lacking, but if the food is this amazing, either take it to go, or enjoy the silence a la Depeche Mode. I absolutely enjoyed every part of my meal. Even the salad was fresh with nice ripe tomatoes (and really, how many restaurants serve terrible, wilted salads? too many...). The gyro meat was succulent, I adore their hummus and tsatziki, and their falafels are also a treat. It's not expensive, and well worth what you do pay. I'm from the Chicago area originally, and up til I found this place was lamenting the lack of good Greek food outside of Greektown in Chicago...this is now in my top 3, including the ones I love out there. read more

The reviews brought me to this small order at the counter restaurant inside the Santa Fe Design Center. I was immediately happy to see Avgolemono Soup highlighted on a sign at my eye level. I ordered that along with sweet potato fries, and my husband got a small Egyptian salad and a Mexican beer. The service from Gabriel was excellent and enthusiastic without going overboard. The prices were very reasonable for Santa Fe. My husband's salad was large in both size and flavor. He liked the addition of garbanzo beans especially. The sweet potato fries were also done just right. I've saved the best for last - I love good Avgolemono Soup, and many times it tastes like water with too much lemon. Cleopatra's soup was perfection. The chicken soup was evident with just the right amount of lemon, the rice was done just right and the temperature was warm enough to last through a slow savored lunch. The pita bread that came with it was fought over by the two of us. It was soft and a little sweet - just right for the meal. We almost came back for dinner. read more

'A middle-eastern place in a mall? Pheh, I will pass!' you think, if you are me and therefore a snob. And the first time I came here I was really unimpressed with the falefal. But either they or I were having a really off day, because Cleopatra's is really pretty good and you can get a filling meal for under ten bucks. Everything is super-garlicky, which is a major plus in my book, and I highly recommend the King Tut platter, which won me over with the hummus. Avoid the tabuli though. read more

Overpriced and not worth it by any means. We ordered a falafel plate, Lebanese salad, and mousakka. The falafel was alright but bland and a measly portion for $12 and the mousakka was cold and undercooked. The salad was the best because it's hard to mess up, though the pita chips mixed in the salad weren't even toasted as with an actual Lebanese salad. My mother complained about the mousakka not being fresh and was told that it was indeed fresh but the cashier kindly offered to give her something else. We got a small plate of baba gannoush upon request, and it tasted canned. Nothing here tasted fresh apart from the salad greens. Seating area is eerily underpopulated. read more

I was rather disturbed to see that the only member of their kitchen staff was preparing food without a face mask. He then had his hands in the trash bin out front, and returned to work in the kitchen without washing his hands. Cleopatra's mediocre food is not worth the risk of contracting Covid or something else. read more

Very nice, tasty and authentic food. As an Israeli I really enjoyed the flavors. The presentation was great. I really recommend. read more

A friend took me here as I was getting ready to go to Egypt. I have to admit I was skeptical of a Middle Eastern place in a mall, but these guys delivered the goods. The food was amazing and the owner is legitimately from the area. I have to warn you, they try to hurt you with food that is so delicious you don't want to stop eating. My suggestion, split a platter with a friend. read more

We stopped by here on a Saturday night for dinner. The counter was manned by an older gentleman who was playing with his phone and never looked up at us when we approached to order. When we tried to order he said "we close at 9 pm". This was odd because it was only 7:30 pm. He basically refused to serve us. We obviously won't be back. read more

I had the Gyro, and the lamb was excellent, so tender. But I spent over $12 after fries and lemonade.

I can't get enough of their Egyptian salad! The herb dressing is so good. I ask for extra kalamata olives and get a side of pita bread to go with it. Their dolma is really good also and their babaganoush. They have Pepsi also which is a huge plus for me. Always very friendly staff, everyone I have met here over the past year and a half has been nice and courteous. read more

hidden in The Design Center is some of the best middle eastern food I've ever had. the gyros are great: the meat tender, sauce wonderful, tomatoes and lettuce fresh. they have 2 kinds of falafel: Lebanese and Egyptian. both awesome the hummus is chock-full-o-garlic the baba ghanoush creamy and delightful the dolmas, ah the dolmas are perfect. I could eat a plate of just them! read more

I definitely enjoy a delicious gyro! This place has perfect size proportions...and everything tastes fresh! Love!

Great food, the portion sizes are big enough to share. Local beer is available as well as non-alcoholic beverages. It's the kind of place where you have to pay before you eat which gives it an unfortunate fast food like feel. Don't let that detour you, this is a great stop before a movie, the theater is right around the corner. Or even before you head over to Lowe's or Sprouts. read more

This place is really out of the way in the design center (why would you ever go there). But the trip is well worth it. Top notch food, inexpensive. Don't take it for a restaurant since its, well, in the design center and the atmosphere absolutly sucks there. But for a call in and pick up you just can't beat this place. read more

Really good Mediterranean food. Delicious and a decent price. Been to both locations, and have no complaints.

I love this place. On of my go-to take out/delivery places. The Cairo Chicken plate is my favorite, always get it with a side of their amazing falafel balls. Highly recommended, healthy and super tasty. read more

I had the gyro and my chic had the variety plate. The food is average at best. Its the only greek place I know of in Santa Fe, so this is as good as it gets. The tzatziki sauce tastes more like tahini sauce. Its probably the worst tzatziki ive ever had. Its not the best or the worst Mediterranean Ive had. The falafals are decent and the hummus is decent too. Ill go back because this is the only place to go here. PLus its cheap! read more

I love Cleopatra Cafe. For the price, it can't be beat. The food is yummy, fresh and satisfying and the servers always friendly and helpful. I have been eating at Cleopatra Cafe for many years. Great food to enjoy in person, pick up as carry out, or grab for a potluck event. If you want a cheap trip to the Fertile Crescent, visit Cleopatra Cafe. I recommend the belly dancing nights, as well. read more

This is just a little walk up counter in the design center with about 10 tables, but the food is absolutely amazing. Great for a take-out option as well. The greek salad with lamb is exceptional, and my husband enjoys the sheesh tewook (like a gyro, but the chicken is marinated in onions and spices I believe). Hummus is nice and fresh tasting. HIghly recommend. read more

Meh. Good ME food, for Santa Fe. Downtown location works for lunch.

We sometimes eat in, but often take out their lamb gyros. Nicel seasoned with good portion size and quickly prepared. Nice people at the restaurant, and it is always a pleasure to visit. read more

Cleopatra cafe is consistently the best Mediterranean food in Santa Fe. A true hidden gem, located in the SF design center.

My wife and I had the Cleopatra plate and it was outstanding! Some of the best middle eastern food we ever et!

absolutely fantastic food. You'd never expect to find such amazing food with fantastic prices in the middle of a food-court. Best meal we had in Santa fe. The Meryam plate was fantastic, the hummus out of this world, the lamb amazing and the babaganoush very very good. read more

I've been going to this place for years! It's my favorite gyro sandwich in the country. However last night I showed up at 750 and the girl at the counter said try were closed. She said we close at 8. I looked at the hours posted and it says they close at 9! I was so disappointed not to mention starving!! Haven't business owners learned that hiring people interested in customer service is important to a successful business. I hope the owner reads this. Seriously disappointed here. read more

Ate lunch here. Had lentil soup, falafel sandwich. My husband had hummus. The soup was watery and tasted canned. The falafel was left in the basket after one bite. The hummus was okay, as was the lettuce and tomatoes used as garnish. Life is too short to eat ho hum food. read more

The food here is great to say the least. Fairly fast service even when they are busy, price is good especially for the down town area. I can't get enough of this restaurant! read more
