Testers were fresh and I was able to try out most of the products on my hand while browsing. Besides skincare, they also have tools and makeup! I was shocked to see my beloved Innisfree powder amongst the shelves, along with some TonyMoly and a variety of cute lipsticks and glosses. I came here looking for a specific moisturizer, a pack of eyebrow razors, and any other fun skincare tools I could find. Unfortunately, they didn't carry the brand of skincare I was looking for, and the eyebrow razors were a bit overpriced for my taste. Not sure if the owner is still getting the shop set up or if she just got a shipment in, but there were a TON of unpacked boxes behind the counter and on the floor. It was a bit difficult to maneuver around the store, and the bottom of my coat was covered in dust from brushing up against the boxes on my way out :( Ultimately, I would suggest coming here if you want personalized recommendations (the owner is very skincare savvy) or if you want to see a product in person before purchasing. They mostly have higher end products and not many brands I use, so I probably won't be back unless I'm in need of my Korean makeup staples.

While charming, they weren't able to stay in business. The interior funnels the old drug store, with the old paint and marks from the shelving still on the walls. The staff here are incredibly patient and helpful. I came in here with a largish group (5+ people) and they were kind and helpful, letting us try many things and helping us with our purchases, while still serving other customers that came into the store. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing and minimal, and the people working only served to reinforce that, with offers of chilled water and soft voices and so much information about the design of the interior and skincare as a whole. It is a very pricey store, but all Aesops are. I genuinely appreciate how each one moulds itself to the area surrounding, while still holding onto the flair that makes it the store I love.

My order was supposed to be ready in about an hour & the store inside wasn't busy, so I went in to ask if I could help pick out the items I purchased for online pickup and bring it to the counter to scan out to quicken the process. The store associate told me that this works, so I went to pick out all the stuff that I had placed an order for and brought it to the counter. Then she proceeds to try to charge me for all the items I gave her to scan instead of just going by the online order. I guess she didn't know how to do online pickup orders and got confused but she wanted to refund my online order and have me repurchase everything. I didn't want to do this since I didn't really see the point in doing so. Instead, I just waited until my order was fulfilled later in the day & picked up my order an hour after all of this. I feel like an online pickup order shouldn't have been this difficult & if my order couldn't be fulfilled in time or earlier, it would've been okay to have said so.

I was in the store a while back and got a very relaxing mini facial along with some free samples to take home with me all of which were the products that the saleslady used during my facial. I like the Plantscription skincare line that they carry there and they are excellent products, very good for anti-aging. It's a nice store but like many other skincare shops, the staff can be a bit overbearing and sometimes make you feel like you have to buy something. So if you go into the store wanting to look but not buy you'll just have to stick to your guns. I've come here before with the intention of browsing and kept being followed by salesclerks promoting their products and the various gift sets that they have in the store. I usually just walk around the store and half the time I know what I want to buy. However, this time around I wanted to try a new foundation. I approached one of the sales associates and asked to have my foundation match. Hailey (Haley) was more than happy to assist me. She match me without even using the color matching machine (since the foundation I wanted was more like a light coverage). She gave me a sample to try at home and answer all my questions. She gave me her full attention and is very knowledgeable about all the products. She never once try to push me to buy an item or discourage me to try a certain product. The store is well stocked with a variety of Asian (mostly Chinese but also Japanese and Korean) beauty products and supplies/stationary along with some snacks. It gets easily crowded in the shop so be prepared to dodge other customers eyeing the makeup section. The unfortunate thing about this store is that some of the price labels are not placed properly or placed at all-- it kept me guessing at what the prices of some of the products were. I could've asked the employees, but who wants to ask the staff every time they want to know how much a product costs? Just a fair warning that you really SHOULD however get the proper pricing of these products prior to purchasing because some of these makeup/beauty products must be imported and therefore MUCH more expensive than if you would purchase them from an online supplier. My total came out to nearly $50 (yes, you read that right. 50 bucks) and all I bought were 4 products: an eyeliner, hand sanitizer, hand cream and dispoable razors. You can't even return these products because RETURNS ARE NOT ALLOWED. I'm sad I even joined the rewards program because I was charged 5 bucks for the keychain tag thing they give rewards members. The employee DID tell me this prior to me joining, but I didn't hear her properly because I was shocked at the additional charge when I did receive my receipt. I even saw that they were selling a limited edition Asian Starbucks tumbler for a whopping $64. I'm giving 2 stars for the fact that there are some great variety of Asian beauty supplies (some reasonably priced, others not so much) offered at Tao's as well as for the very friendly employees who came by to ask if I needed anything several times.
