Came in for prescription safety glasses for work and was quoted about 1-2 months turn around. 3 months pass with no callback so I decide to call them to get a status on my glasses and they told me that my glasses had come in 3 weeks after my initial visit. They claimed to have called me but I didn't receive a single call, text, voicemail or email from them for a whole two months. If I had not reached out to them, I would probably not have gotten my glasses at all. Would not recommend to friends or family. read more

Since we moved from Sacramento to San Jose 2.5 years ago, it was difficult to find a good Optometrist being new in the area. I had to rely on our insurance VSP for good referrals of Optometrist near my home. I always pick the 4 or 5 star ratings. My husband & I visited 2 or 3 places but ClearSight Optometry stood out the best. Great location, beautiful office and friendly staff. Dr. Duong is the best. Very friendly, very professional and knowledgeable in her profession. Two weeks ago, I accidentally sat on my eye glasses. I called her office and one of the staff told me to drop by and will fix it. I don't post reviews often, but I felt compelled to give ClearSight 5 stars after my visit this morning. A friend of mine referred me to ClearSight and helped me make an appointment for an eye exam. ClearSight is conveniently located off of 85 in South San Jose. I haven't gotten my eyes checked in a few years and was a bit nervous of the tests I would have to do, especially having the machine blow air at my eye to measure the pressure, but Dr. Duong was very helpful throughout the tests, communicating what every test was measuring and what to expect and where to look and position my face to get the most accurate readings and assessment. I found that the retinal imaging to be very informative, and was pleased to know that my eyes are in good health and will remain in good health as long as I continue to protect them from the suggestions Dr. Duong suggested. I really can't say enough positive things about my experience at ClearSight. Definitely will return next year for another check up and possibly pick up some new shades as well! read more

receptionist are rude i went one time with my son and he didn't want to get it done he was scared to check his eyes and was giving a hard time so the doctor told me to mentally prepare my 3 year old son then bring him back, ok so a couple of weeks later i tried to make an appointment note that my doctor gave me a page with all the eye doctors and what ages they can be seen so this places says it takes kids from all ages so i tried to make an appointment they said ok everything was ok but he ask if i was recently seen i said yea my son so he asked the age and name and then told no that they no longer accept that age in this moment like ok thank you they should not told to make an appointment and prepare my son to not accept him so thank you for the help doctors great thumbs up it was closest one to my house now i have to drive miles to go take my children to go see an eye doctor. read more

I went to ClearSight for an eye exam and was SUPER impressed! One of the reasons I chose this office was because Diana (at the front desk) was so friendly over the phone. While I was looking for an optometrist, I had some rude service from other offices, but ClearSight was helpful and very kind. They were able to get me in that day. The office is very clean and modern and Diana at the front desk is very helpful. Dr. Duong was sweet and easy to talk to. I really hate eye exams and she made me feel very comfortable and informed about each procedure. I was able to ask any questions I had and left feeling like I knew what state my eyes were in as well as which glasses would be best for me. Dr. Han Duong is an excellent optometrist - very capable, efficient and thorough in her exams. It's so reassuring to hear her describe clearly and specifically what she sees as she goes through her exam so that I become aware of my eye health and any changes that may have transpired from year to year. Her warmth and approachability also make is easy to bring up and discuss any concerns I may have. I appreciate that she takes time to verify my prescribed glasses meets my vision needs and are a good fit as well, encouraging me to "trial test" them, and to return to the office for adjustments if needed. The fact that she has a great selection of frames in and a clean office that adheres to safety protocols, as well as a helpful and polite team all contribute to the fact that I'm a pretty happy patient! read more

This was my first time visiting this office. I came in and first the receptionist asked me to fill out a form, then when I was filling the form another staff asked me to stop filling the form and walk to her. Then she talked about $35 training fee, and possible $60 additional fee beside the $10 copay. I was just listening and not feeling happy with the staff and the process (asking to fill one form then asking to stop and listening to other things and asking to fill out two other forms, ...). I learned about these costs which are not covered by insurance after visiting the office. They have called me before I come and spent time with me to know my purpose of visit and to know my insurance but nothing mentioned to me then. Their process and customer service was unacceptable in my opinion. It could've been better. read more

I had originally came into ClearSight for a frame select with my boyfriend, but he ended up getting a full eye exam with Dr. Duong and leaving with a pair of sunglasses as well. Walking into the office, everything was set up very modern and neat. I was greeted by Dr. Duong who was just finishing up with a patient and was shown the great selection of frames they had. After trying a a few frames, I narrowed my selection down to a nice pair or Burberry frames. Their optician, Diana, helped me out and she did an excellent job. Not only did she help me narrow my selection down by what looked good on me, but also recommended the frame that would fit me best. She recommended me a pair with an extended fit that suits my nose bridge. My boyfriend was fit into Dr. Duong's schedule and was able to be seen for a full eye exam. Paperwork didn't take long because everything was done on an iPad which made it efficient and paperless. Diana also pre-tested him and he opted to get the retinal scan as well. The machines were cleaned properly before use and the tests didn't take long either. Dr. Duong called him in and invited me in to watch. Being a pre-optometry student, it was nice of her to let me watch her conduct the exam. She made the exam very thorough and efficient. She went through the different aspects of the eye exam and explained what she was looking at. She was very courteous and definitely knows what she's talking about. My boyfriend ended up having a small prescription and decided to get sunglasses. Overall, I would highly recommended ClearSight Optometry because of their clean and welcoming office, friendly staff, and how awesome Dr. Duong is!! read more

As luck would have it, I stopped by Dr. Duong's office while I was visiting some family in San Jose. Her office was extremely easy to find, and it is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. As soon as I walked in, I was impressed by the simple, clean and modern aesthetics of the office. I was greeted by Diana, who was very friendly and courteous. Dr. Duong also was very friendly, professional, knowledgeable and clearly uses all the latest technology she uses to take care of her patients. I was very pleased with the entire experience! The selection of glasses is exceptional and after browsing her selection of sunglasses, I happily walked away with a pair of Burberry sunglasses at a good price. I usually dread any kind doctor's appointment, but Dr. Kim and his staff were very outgoing and easy to talk to. The exam was done within 15 min and he even offered my boyfriend a free screening and educated us a little about the equipment and technology they have. It took us an hour to leave because I was so indecisive about which frames to pick, but the staff here were extremely patient and helped me throughout the whole process. I felt no pressure to get glasses or anything, in fact Dr. Kim said i would be fine without them. Buuut i'm dramatic and couldn't settle for seeing in "fuzzy" 20/20 so... I believe they accept a variety of insurance here, sadly mine did not cover this. BUT they still offer discounts for some insurance companies, so you can still ask. I was able to save a good chunk of money for my exam and frames. Overall a great experience! I'd highly recommend Dr. Kim for your next exam. (: read more

As you can see from my profile, I don't write reviews often, but when I take the time to, it means something! My mom is the one who actually had the appointment, I just went with her. From the moment we stepped into the facility, we felt the warm welcome from Diana, who works at the Front Desk/Assistant. Being the way my mom is, she is always asking lots of questions, but Diana was able to answer and explain to her what the insurance covered and etc. One of the questions was asking my mom if she wanted to do a picture of the inside of her eye. This will help determine if my mom has glaucoma. Because of my mom's sister having diagnosed with glaucoma, my mom wanted to take the test. Her insurance only covered a portion of it, but worth it. My mom was sharing with Diana what happened to her sister. Mind you, while my mom was explaining this, Dr. Duong was inside the room with another patient. It was my mom's turn, Dr. Duong starts doing the normal check-up and my mom was moved to the next machine in which then takes a picture of her eye. Without knowing my mom's sister's situation, Dr. Duong asked my mom if there was a family history of glaucoma. I was very impressed that she asked that considering I was hesitant that it was just a test to spend more money. Dr. Duong then takes my mom to the room and continues the eye exam. Dr. Duong pulls up the results of the pictures and fully explains what she saw to my mom and me. She was very knowledgeable and wanted to make sure my mom understood! I've never experienced a doctor be this detailed and you can tell she cared. I have been to numerous optometrist and this is by far, one of the best! I wasn't even the patient, but just observing her interaction with my mom and her process;it was amazing. It also looked like she had updated technology. They just opened a year ago, I believe. I could see a very bright future for them! My mom was done and now she had to select her frame and lens. Diana took the time to once again explain to my mom her insurance coverage. Because of budget, Diana even pulled out the frames that was within her price range. Overall, my mom and I were very impressed! The facility was clean and the staff were friendly and took the time. I've attached a picture to show you how detailed they are...they put the phone under the desk to show no clutter on top of the table! Every detail counts! This is the best optometry in nor-cal I've been to. I went on the website to fill out an online appointment request from and within minutes a received a phone call to confirm my appointment. The front desk woman gave me all the information I needed in regards to copays and any extra costs. She was accommodating to my needed appointment time and when I called to move it up she was just as friendly. When I arrived to my appointment I was greeted as soon as I arrived, and shortly after doing the pre-exam, Dr Han greeted me and Fiance with such joy. She was very informative and corrected an incorrect prescription I had been given. Not only that but she was very thorough in the exam and confident in her decision making and I feel so much happier with my contacts now that I went to her. Also she was super fun and we learned she used to be an engineer and she designed the whole office by herself ! And she did an awesome job! Dr. Han and her staff were GREAT! What a pleasant and bright office! The experience was everything you want it to be! Our previous Optometry office, which is literally 5 min away, however said you had to call first, and they would return your call. Well, we did that 3 times! No return call. We went to Target and my daughter needed a specific prescription that Target could not fill. They recommended this office. We couldn't be happier with the service, knowledge of Dr. Han and her staff. Visited ClearSight for the first time last week. The office is gorgeous! Dr Duong is easy to talk to and is very knowledgeable. Diana is great at choosing glasses that fit you best. I left my last office because although they had a big selection, I always had a hard time finding glasses. I told Dr Duong my concern with glasses, she informed Diana what I was looking for and she had a number of glasses waiting for me. I chose the second pair I tried on. I can't wait to pick them up. We were here for kids eye exams. One is 6 and the other is 3. Dr. Han was very patient with my daughters. The older one is easier since she can recognize the letters. However, the younger one can't recognize letters so She had some ways to check the younger one and also explained how our vision develops in early age so we know it's normal for this age to have some prescription, +1.50 for younger one and eventually goes down to 0 around 5-6 year old. I am a Kaiser member. I love my Kaiser care. However, Kaiser optometry did not have an available appointment until 2 months out. My right eye was bothering me so my husband was searching around for an office with good reviews. Not only was the receptionist Christina friendly, she was knowledgeable and patient. She won us over so we made a same day appointment. We accidentally put the wrong address into our GPS and were 15 late. We thought we were going to have to cancel but they said they could accommodate us since the next appointment was not for a while (they were even super nice about us being late; we were able to share a laugh). The office is beautiful, clean and very welcoming. So far, so good. Then, I met the doctor... OMG Dr. Duong is SO nice! She didnt rush my exam, she answered all my questions and made me laugh a few times (super down to earth). My husband and I paid out of pocket for the visit and would do it again because the experience was flawless! Which is actually why I went back! Today was my follow up appointment and my eye looks/feels better after a week of medication. The doctor did another exam so we could get an updated prescription for glasses. Christina helped me pick out some very cute glasses and was mindful of my budget (I really appreciated that, girl! Thank you!)
