They recently partnered with NVision where I had my LASIK procedure 8 years ago which is how I found this location.

Dr. Kootman has been my ophthalmologist for almost 20 years. I have always been satisfied with his…read morecare and service. A few months ago, I was diagnosed with cataracts and he discussed with me the surgical options. He recommended the Light Adjustable Lens. After watching a couple of videos regarding Light Adjustable Lens, I opted to have this done. I opted to do monovision so that I would never have to wear glasses again. I would hopefully see both far and near. I had the surgeries done about a month apart at his surgical clinic. The surgical clinic's staff creates a very clean and comfortable environment and I felt at ease. After the surgeries and after "locking in" the final adjustment, I now have 20/15 vision in my dominant eye, and I can read the smallest print on Dr. Kootman's card. It is amazing. I highly recommend the Light Adjustable Lens. Dr. Kootman is very exact, very professional and very caring. I would highly recommend Dr. Kootman and would also highly recommend the Light Adjustable Lens.

He explained everything I needed to know about cataracts and the cataract surgery. I had cataract surgery performed on both eyes and could not have been happier with the results, I would recommend Dr Kootman to anyone who has cataracts or any eye problems that need reviewing. The office staff were professional and courteous. Every time I went in and needed another appointment they accommodated all appointment dates and times that I needed. You will be happy with this office location and Dr Kootman.

Southwest Eye Surgeon - My Google Review

This is a response to what the review by Parminderpal aka dr Singh said to my Google review. See…read morethe attached pictures for my original google review, and his response, then see my counter below. Firstly, regarding the claim that all MS patients are referred, I must point out that when Parminderpal Singh arrived for my appointment, he stated that he was unaware of the purpose of my visit and claimed he had not seen my referral. This contradiction raises significant concerns about the accuracy of your assurances. Additionally, I found his demeanor to be aggressive and rude, which left me feeling quite intimidated during what should have been a neurological eye exam. If there was any confusion regarding my referral, I would have been more than willing to seek care from a regular ophthalmologist instead through my vision benefits. Furthermore, Mr. Singh's assertion that he could conduct an exam for neurological patients--which, again, was merely a standard eye exam--felt disingenuous. It was alarming to hear him mention the financial pressures faced by the practice, suggesting a potential motive behind the misleading language used in your marketing. Asking, "Would you like glasses today?" is deceptive; the question should clearly state, "Would you like a prescription today?" if that is indeed what you are offering. On the matter of billing, I was informed that my appointment would cost $150 after insurance, a figure I accepted. However, I was subsequently charged additional fees (outside the $50 prescription) that were not communicated upfront. This lack of transparency necessitated my request for an itemized receipt, which, as of now, has yet to be provided. Under legal obligations, it is your responsibility to furnish such documentation upon request. Moreover, if my expectations of being treated with respect, transparency, and dignity are deemed atypical, then it appears that your team may be disconnected from the expectations of contemporary patient care. I firmly believe that every patient deserves to be treated courteously and honestly. While I have shared Google reviews in the past to you stated that I shared only 8 and of 8, five were all 1 star reviews, which is a False statement. I've shared 10 Google Reviews, 5 were 4 stars and above, and the remaining 5 which includes yours between 1-3 stars which outlined my unsatisfactory experiences. I strive to present factual accounts on good experiences as well as bad. Sorry you were the 5th HORRIBLE experience I posted about. But I have to warn others. Especially after looking at your lower reviews, it appears you have a patter of conning your patients out of money through your unclear presentation of prescriptions, causing them to have exams and procedures they didn't need all for your financial gain. My aim is to inform potential patients of potential issues they may encounter in your practice. This also gives you time for reflection and change so you can provide better patient care. Ultimately, while financial concerns were not my primary issue, the absence of transparency and honest communication is paramount. The way patients are treated should reflect integrity and professionalism, and my experience fell short in these regards. I hope that you will take this feedback seriously and consider improving your practices moving forward. Please refrain from your racial undertones in your response and your passive aggression and attacks regarding MS patients, especially if you are going to use God to conclude your response! That's tacky. I would recommend you do your compliance courses which you are clearly skipping, so that you don't end up in a lawsuit because of your pride and arrogance. I hope you can change for the sake of others! That's what the Christian God of would do and its clear that's not who you were referring to in your conclusion! May you mature and humble yourself a little more Parminderpal.
