Run! I wouldn't go back here even for nonprescription sun glasses. Had Cataract Surgery one week apart. First eye was fine except for shading and floaters. Second eye lens was fine but my pupil no longer functions, always open. Going between light and dark is impossible! Dr. Walman said after multiple visits there is nothing he can do. Well BS. This is unacceptable, but he didn't care. Have recently gone to another Dr. and he is going to try to improve my situation. Pupil will still not work but will not be as wide open. It appears I actually have Fuchs Dystrophy. I kept telling him my eyes weren't getting better. I sought a 2nd and 3rd opinion and both young ladies were able to diagnose Fuchs. He then wanted to do another surgery and I told him what my correct diagnosis was. The staff that had gathered all stood there with mouths open. Don't use him or his clinic.I suffer daily now. My first visit and it was pretty good! Everyone was pleasant. The doctor was good, although maybe he was just too focused on my diabetes that he never mentioned my illness. I am new to Phoenix, so unless they do something cooky, they will be my eye doctor. Scheduling was PERFECT! The confirmation email was SUPER informative. I LOVE the location, I can walk from home. This review is based on a phone call to see what a routine eye exam included. The woman who answered my call was not able to tell me what was included in a routine eye exam, specifically if a glaucoma test was included. She placed me on hold for about a minute. Then she picked up again, asked how she could help and I reasked the question. Another hold. She came back on to report the routine exam covered the eyeglasses RX and no tests like for glaucoma. I asked another question, she again didn't know and asked if I wanted to hold for a technician. IMHO, the person who answers the phone should know a little bit about what a service covers, especially when it is a general question and involves no medical or optical experience or training. I will go to Costco for my eye exam. Don't second guess consumer reports! read more

Great doctor and location! I visited the practice with my friend about about a month ago and we had the best experience. They recently partnered with NVision where I had my LASIK procedure 8 years ago which is how I found this location. I'm still 20/15 and love my vision everyday. My friend is equally excited about her upcoming procedure. Don't settle when it comes to your eyes. I highly recommend NVision. read more

I would give him less than one if it was possible. I saw Dr. Walman to get cataract surgery and opted for the Lifestyle lenses to correct my distance vision. He did the surgeries one week apart. The next time I saw him he did yag laser surgery because he said I had scar tissue from the procedure that was making my vision worse than before treatment. I had this surgery the beginning of June. By November my vision was still very poor and nothing had helped. He then did PRK surgery to fix the astigmatism I had in my right eye (this was supposed to have been fixed during the original surgery).This still didn't help. In January he sent me to a retinal specialist saying that he thought I had retinal adema causing the problem. This specialist told me that it was the lenses not the retinas. I then saw another optometrist who was recomnended. He told me that the calculations for the lenses were way off and the wrong lenses were used. He also told me they couldn't be replaced because the yag surgery made them permanent. I asked Dr. Walman for a refund of the money I paid but his refused. Since then have been seen by a dry eye specialist and one other doctor. The end result is I now need glasses for both near and far sightedness (I only needed them for distance before) I also have dry eye syndrom and can't drive at night because of light sensitivity. I'm now on antidepressants and wear glasses full time. I would be very careful when decided to use this doctor. read more

I have been going to Dr. Walman for over 11 years now. I have a degenerative eye disease that is slowly making me go blind. He is one of the top specialist in AZ that can help me with my Keratoconus. I have now had 3 surgeries on my eyes over the last 11 years. My first procedure was insane and slightly painful, but he did a great job in trying to keep me relaxed and comfortable during the process. My most recent 2 surgery were even more painful and he again tried his best to prepare me for everything, but wasn't as easy with me like the first time. Who doesn't jump when sharp objects are directly coming for your eye! LOL! I have noticed that he is more known and has a lot more patients then he use to when I first started seeing him. I'm happy that his business is doing so well, but it makes appointments a little hectic and rushed sometimes. Not all the time, but sometimes. The office staff has changed a lot over the years, some improvements and some bad apples. The only thing I wish the office expanded on is keep patients updated on new technologies and surgeries here and outside the US. This could really benefit patients like me who are advanced in their diseases. So far he is keeping me trucking along and doing what he can do. Dr. Christopher Marmo is wonderful. I saw him a few years ago and lost contact after he moved his practice. Thanks to a fellow Yelper I was able to find him again. He offers services at two convenient locations. One in Peoria and the other Downtown. His downtown office is very nice. Dr. Marmo is warm, listens to all your concerns and an all around upbeat guy. His office assistant, awesome as well, even offered some information on how to remedy a bad Rx provided by another doctor. Look no further, if you want top notch eye care he's your man. read more

Poor scheduling service. Just tried to call to make an appointment for two routine eye exams. The first time I called, I was placed on automatic hold and then disconnect. I called back and a woman named Alex answered the phone. I let her know that I'd like to make a few appointments. She asked for which location, and not having the address immediately available, I said, "The one towards downtown." I then immediately found the address and tried to relay it to her several times. Me: "The address..." Alex: "We have 20 locations." Me: "The address is..." Alex: "Nevada, California, Arizona..." Me: "I'm trying to give you..." Alex: "So I need to know which one." Me: "Can you listen to me, please? I'm trying to give you the information you need. And actually, I'm good." Not a good start for someone trying to become a new patient. I'll keep looking. read more

Manny was awesome, when I saw that my glasses had broke I freaked out because I'm so blind that there is no way to function without glasses. Googled eyeglass repair and there he was.
