Let…read moreme start off by saying, in my opinion, the sheer volume of patients at this location you felt like a number. The way the front desk was set up, the staff clearly were irritated at the slightest question coming their way which made me feel horrible for the elderly patients they heavily rely on. You are quickly shifted from room to room being escorted from unhappy staff member to the next. When I questioned why I needed a certain procedure done, I was greeted with a curt response from the assistant which proceeded throughout the appointment. My visit with the doctor was subpar, as she mentioned there was "nothing there" when I had a bump the size of the moon in the middle of my eye. Cool.. I was sent home with drops and the same antibiotics I received from urgent care. Let's just say, she was gravely wrong and my condition was not taken seriously in my opinion. They failed to give me results of a full eye exam, never mentioned any changes in my prescription, and when I had to retrieve records that were supposed to be uploaded in the portal to see a different doctors office, they were no where to be found. When I contacted the office manager about this, and informed her I shouldn't have been charged for a full exam without a physician follow up, she proceeded to read off my prescription with no medical background to do so, then proceeded to tell me "you're not paying for it" insurance is. Hummm.. I'm sure the insurance companies would be happy to learn about that. Avoid this location at all costs! My experience was horrible and people deserve better treatment.

After watching a couple of videos regarding Light Adjustable Lens, I opted to have this done. I opted to do monovision so that I would never have to wear glasses again. I would hopefully see both far and near. I had the surgeries done about a month apart at his surgical clinic. The surgical clinic's staff creates a very clean and comfortable environment and I felt at ease. After the surgeries and after "locking in" the final adjustment, I now have 20/15 vision in my dominant eye, and I can read the smallest print on Dr. Kootman's card. It is amazing. I highly recommend the Light Adjustable Lens. Dr. Kootman is very exact, very professional and very caring. I have called three separate times and was told their billing system had issues and that it would be corrected. Despite this, I continue to receive bills -- most recently again in February 2026 -- for the same February 2024 "no-show" appointment that I did not schedule or miss. This has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Ongoing billing errors and lack of resolution have made this a very negative experience, and I will not be returning to this location.

I wanted options to be less reliant on glasses and contacts, on which I've been dependent for over 40 years. I made an appointment with Dr. Hwang, and from the moment I walked into the office, I knew I was good hands. Everybody was friendly, professional, and personable. I can actually list names of his staff with whom I interacted; they are all so easy to deal with and talk to! Dr. Hwang came into the exam room and we discussed my options, which included LASIK and IOLs (intraocular lenses). He is crazy smart and not only completely answered all my questions, I could actually understand everything he said; he's got a really good talent for making the complicated things easy. I couldn't have asked for a better specialist to help guide me through the process. After careful thought and weighing the pros and cons he laid out, I decided to have refractive lens exchange (RLE) which basically is cataract surgery but without my having cataracts. I chose a newer, extended range lens similar to a multi-focal that promises good near vision as well as distance. He performed the surgery a month ago. The surgery staff were just as amazing as his office staff; they work together like a well-oiled machine. Everyone was friendly, respectful, professional, and overall blew me away with how little it felt like actual surgery. The experience was painless, not even uncomfortable. It was quick. It was easy. That night I woke up and glanced at my alarm clock, and realized I could see it from lying down; no more reaching out to pull it closer! I went back to work two days after the surgery, seeing near, seeing far, seeing the computer screen, all without needing to reach for my glasses. It's amazing! The most impressive thing of all is I will never get cataracts and my vision won't significantly change as I get older. She wanted and asked for written proof or she had to charge me. I paid the fee and went home, verified I had coverage, and called back. I was told I already paid and that was that. I called my provider who called them to tell them I was covered and to bill them. When I called back, I was told I would not get a refund unless they were paid in 3-4 weeks. I was telling this to the place I went to get my glasses from who verified my coverage from the card, and they thought it was crazy. Our consensus was incompetent or lazy; I am going with both.

They did Lasik YAG surgery on each of my eyes at different times to help restore a little vision loss which has kept my eyes at top performance. After Dr. Moresky retired Dr. Stock took care of me until he retired. I continue to go to them because although the name may have changed and my doctor changed they give the same great care! For three weeks they can't get me to listen to my lungs for a five minute follow up. I think the doctors are great if you can get past the rude front office.
