This review is specific to the Orem Rec/SCERA Summer Swim Team…read more I was disappointed with the program. I did it when I was a kid and had a great experience. The program has certainly gone down hill since then. -The coaches provided no guidance or instruction. - The coaches had no real training program for the kids, they would just cycle through a couple of strokes without any other practice. - Despite repeated email and in person requests our kid never got the swim cap nor t-shirt that was supposed to come with the program.

With the exception of it getting a little bit too busy lately we think this place does a really good job at providing a nice place to work out for families. Today, me and my kids wanted to play basketball in the gym. Many of the hoops were much lower than 10 feet. Not a big deal. we went and talked to a couple of the girls behind the desk to ask them to raise the hoops so that we could play basketball at regulation height. One of the girls stood up to talk to me and said, "no, I think all of the hoops are at the right height. " I responded and said, "no, many of them are around seven or 8 feet. They should be at 10 feet. "She looked at me like I was speaking a different language and said no I believe we can't adjust the height of the hoops. I realize that maybe I was speaking to someone who had only worked there for a little while and maybe didn't know the rules or the procedures around raising and lowering the hoops. So I said, "I believe we can raise the hoops and you can use that tool (pointing at the tool by her) to raise them. If you get a chance, please help us raise one of these hoops to 10 feet. " I thought that I was really nice and respectful. What happened is nobody ever came out to help us raise the hoops to 10 feet they just sort of ignored our request. Not the end of the world, we still love this place. But I hope in the future, the staff is trained and able to assist in these types of things.

    Provo Beach - The FlowRider

The FlowRider is AWESOME!!!…read more My wife and I made the trip up from Las Vegas for my birthday over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. We booked a surf lesson at 2PM, but due to some timing issues had to move it to 3PM which the team was more than helpful in accommodating. It's hard to believe it can be as cold as the high 20s outside and you're inside catching waves on the FlowRider. The pool area is well heated and the water was warm. There are plenty of grandstands for people to sit and spectate. They have lockers to hold / secure your stuff while you catch waves. They have bathrooms for changing, and showers to clean up after (the only thing I wish they had was more areas in the bathrooms to hang or set your stuff down while you shower or change. Even a small foldaway table would have been helpful). Our lesson was essentially a 60 minute private since my wife and I were the only two in the session. Our instructor John was super friendly, helpful, and informative. He gave us a quick overview and had us riding waves within the first few runs, and if you wiped out (which is pretty painless and fun) he'd have some pointers for you for your next run. We each would do 3-4 runs and then trade off and as long as we had the energy John was at the ready to help catch waves. This was a total five star experience, and I can't wait to do it again! It looks like they also have GA type session where you pay the hourly fee and it's open to the public for everyone to use in turn. However, I'd highly recommend a lesson if it's your first time out. You can also rent either half or whole of the FlowRider by the hour should you have a private event or just want to hone your skills.

Our family loved the laser tag which you get to do three times with that pass. Bowling and the ropes course was also a lot of fun. The mini croquet seemed run down and lame but part of that is probably due to the fact that we have no idea how to play croquet. Rules posted somewhere would've been helpful. All in all this is a really cool place to spend your time.

Beware of the shell game. They don't listen…read more We went with Tubzz because they had the tub with the features that we wanted, they're local, and they seemed great to work with. So we special ordered the tub. Que the nightmare...when it came it wasn't even the right manufacturer, that could have been dealt with but the shape was wrong too. When we called they said that was the tub we ordered so there was nothing they could do for us. We had called the manufacture for the tub to check dimensions and they directed us to Tubzz. We knew what we were ordering. Obviously there was a mix up somewhere which is beyond our comprehension. That said, it happens, the sad thing is they stuck us with it adding they would be willing to give us a small discount on the replacement tub we now needed. We were rather put-off that they seemed more interested in selling us, yet another tub, than figuring out a solution with us. We spent 1,000s more than expected re-working the bathroom in order to make our Tubzz tub work. The whole experience left a very sour taste in our mouth in regards to how we were treated once there was a problem. They'll definitely be eager to get your order, just hope you don't encounter any problems along the way.
