My daughter had an event here tonight, and wow I'm really impressed with the size of this venue. While I only experienced the pool area, it has a lap pool, a lazy river, a few water slides, a rock climbing wall and a smaller kids play area it was quite impressive! The daily fee is $5.50 for kids $6.50 for adults which is pretty impressive and affordable. One thing my daughter complained about, was they kept closing the sliding de area due to poop episodes so that's pretty gross, but I guess at least they close it to treat it? read more

My last-ditch effort in hopes of finding some pickleball. Nope! Alas, this RECREATION center is closed on Sundays. how?? boggles my mind. It's in the middle of a hot weekend day, and people don't gather to play pickleball in the cool indoors. I had already packed my equpiment in my suitcase, hoping to check out the local level, all for naught. Pickleheads failed to mention this facility closes on Sundays. Also desperately stopped by 3 other pb parks on my way to the airport. All the same result. Does no one play pb in north UT?? read more

The Provo Recreation Center is a beautiful facility with great amenities, but the admission policy for parents watching their kids is frustrating. I recently came to watch my children participate and was told that I had to pay the full admission fee just to enter the building - even though I wasn't using any of the facilities or amenities. For parents who simply want to support or supervise their kids, this feels unnecessary and discouraging. Many recreation centers allow parents to watch activities without charging them a full entry fee. Seems like this would also be a lift for the Center re: liability. I hope the Rec Center considers revisiting this policy so parents can attend their kids' activities without having to pay for services they aren't using. read more

I was disappointed to find that the Provo Rec Center now requires parents to pay a full entrance fee even if they are only there to supervise their children. Given the serious safety incidents reported at this facility recently--specifically the June 2025 arrest of a man for assaulting children in the pool area--it is critical for parents to be able to stay close to their kids. Charging parents for a pass just to provide necessary oversight feels like a deterrent to safety rather than a community-focused policy. We will be staying with our Orem Rec membership, where active parental supervision is supported without an extra charge. read more

This place is basically kid paradise. My kids could spend hours floating the lazy river or running back and forth between the indoor and outdoor slides (and honestly, they have). There's something for every age, and it's clean, well-run, and never feels too chaotic--even when it's busy. But let's be honest--it's also an adult paradise. There's a huge lap pool (Olympic-sized, I think), a full upstairs track, tons of workout equipment, and courts for just about any sport you can think of. And at certain times during the day, they set up a super cool water ninja course across the pool that my nephews go absolutely wild for. Total gem. read more

We had a mix of emotions during our visit, but I want to highlight how thankful I am for the way the staff handled a difficult situation. Earlier in the day, my two daughters (ages 10 and 13) were in the lazy river when they were made very uncomfortable by an adult man who was behaving inappropriately. He touched them in ways that made them feel unsafe, and they weren't the only ones. As a parent, it was heartbreaking and upsetting to hear what had happened, and I immediately reported it to a lifeguard. From that moment on, the staff handled everything with seriousness, professionalism, and genuine care. The first lifeguard quickly connected me with the lifeguard overseeing the lazy river, who then got a supervisor involved, along with the manager, and from there, the authorities to speak with my girls and assess the situation. One of the lifeguards also witnessed inappropriate behavior and provided his own statement, which really validated what my girls had experienced. What could have been brushed off or minimized was instead treated with the urgency and gravity it deserved. The man was removed and dealt with accordingly, and my daughters were able to see that their voices mattered and that they were protected. They felt so much safer once he was gone, and I truly can't thank the staff enough for how they responded. Their kindness, attentiveness, and swift action made all the difference. Outside of that incident, I want to share that this facility has so much to offer and really impressed us. We loved that you're allowed to bring in your own food and enjoy a full day at the pool without feeling rushed. The indoor area includes a large slide, diving boards, a lazy river, a section for younger kids, and a hot tub (for ages 15+). Outside, there are two giant slides (you can even ride together), a fun splash pad, a water playground for little ones, and a great-sized wave pool that looks like a blast. Despite the unsettling moment we experienced, the way it was handled gave us so much confidence in the staff and their commitment to guest safety. We are incredibly grateful and will definitely be back. read more

The Provo rec center has become a light in my life! Their facilities are top of the line, clean, and very fun. The staff is helpful, kind, and informative. The areas I use most frequently are the gym upstairs, the classrooms, the indoor and outdoor pool, and child watch. Their child watch has made all the difference for me as a mother! I love that there is an affordable and safe environment to leave my child while I workout. For $25 a month, it's a steal. The exercise machines, weights, and treadmills cover all the bases. This is, by no means, solely a gym so they don't have the space/amount of equipment that a vasa does. That being said, I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for anything. The indoor and outdoor pools are Amazing. They have so many different water features that keep children entertained for HOURS. Not to mention, me and my adult friends I love the Provo rec center. read more

Living in Orem with kids, we LOVE the provo rec center! There is something for everyone to enjoy and the facilities are so nice and clean. Our kids have done swimming lessons, basketball and baseball here. They've loved every one! They also love to watch the jumping fountain when we leave! My husband and I both have passes to the rec center so we can work out, play racquetball and take our kids swimming when we want to. They have a child care service that is only $3 an hour. I wish there were older people taking care of the kids there though, because the young teens often look like they'd rather be anywhere else! Overall we appreciate this asset to our community and will keep coming back for more! read more

Way to go, Provo! This place is AMAZING! There are too many features to list, like gyms for basketball, indoor track, weights galore, and 5 star pools. My daughters and I attended an Aqua Zumba class taught by Sariah and she had our heart rates up the WHOLE time. I've had fun with Zumba and other dance classes "on land" for years but can't hop/twist around anymore because of my knees. So, this is the perfect solution! Up to our shoulders in water, it provided wonderful resistance for the upper body and well! Sariah was very animated, personable, and lead very well. She would signal where to move next and had great routines! My daughter attends regularly and I'm going every time I visit! read more

When I moved to Utah, I was having a hard time figuring out where the best place to workout would be. There are some many chain and local gyms to choose from... but the best place truly is Provo Rec Center. They have so many amazing fitness classes- RIP, pump, Zumba, high fitness, and yoga! I love that they have some during all times of the day. They have a huge pool, basketball area, indoor water park, outdoor water park, tennis courts, and even a skate park! They also have an offsite fitness center located in the Peaks Ice Arena called The Fieldhouse. They have weight lifting classes, circuit training, and free floor availability. They have TRX bands, grass area, and lots of weightlifting equipment. At the downtown rec center, the only issue is parking during busy times of day- especially after work. read more

I love the Provo rec center. Its a great place to take my kids during the summer when we want to play with water and hang out for the day. There are so many amenities here that it almost feels like a cheat to only mention the water play, however it's literally our favorite summer activity. 4 of my kids have also taken swimming lessons here and I've found their instructors to be too notch. We are not residents of Provo and I do wish that the non-resident seasonal or annual passes were more affordable, but paying per visit works best for us for now. read more

My family and I were visiting Utah for a wedding. We wished we had found this place sooner. It was the best place for my toddler son and my niece and nephew to play. I LOVED the pool area with multiple water slides. My son was 18 months when we went and he had a BLAST. Just wish we had one just like it back home. The Provo Rec Center is so awesome! Admission is $5 if you don't have a membership. The pools are nice. Crowds aren't too big at the right time. They are good at cleanliness. A kid went #2 in one of the pools and the staff quickly got everyone out of the pool to clean up for a bit. The snack bar is reasonably priced as well. I didn't get any pictures but it is all very well maintained. We will definitely be back this week! read more

The Provo Rec Center gets 5 stars in my book. My husband and I got memberships here with the student discount in January, excited but apprehensive because we weren't big into exercising. But due to the awesome classes, machinery, and open track, we find ourselves getting in shape and attending the gym multiple times a week! The classes are taught by professionals who are kind and motivating, and I've never felt judged by any other gym attendees. We love it here and feel like it's a bit of a second home! read more

There's a hot tub for 15 and older, little kids are, lazy River, pool, two water slides, Rock climbing where you fall into the water and a big jumping rock about 15 feet up. I like this place a lot but the main thing is the slides. I recommend the slides but they hurt your back while laying down, like a lot. And it gives you a huge splash at the end. And they close the slides up on the weekends until 4:00 Pm for pool check. The hot tub is always slimmy. There is foam all the time. I have called several times and they have not done anything. It has filth and germs in it. Plus the changing room floors are filthy. They have hair in the drains and showers all the time and in all of the ones I have been in for over a year. There management of the facilities is poor. And the supervision is poor. If they do not like something they automatically condemn you and command that you stop. There is no discussion so stay away. Things could get bad for you. Many people come one time to the water classes and leave. There are a few regulars but that is it and for a reason. read more

We were in Provo last weekend for the Utah Valley Marathon. I ran the half marathon, and brought my family down from Syracuse to make a fun stay-cation! What better way to take care of my muscles, and have the kids enjoy it too??? Swimming! We were amazed by this place and wish Syracuse could have something like this! Provo Rec Center has an amazing indoor and outdoor swimming area that can be enjoyed by kids and adults! The price is what is amazing! This is a great gym. The member price is a bit high but not so much that it kills you and for everything that you get it's definitely worth it to me. It's Definitely gotten busier over the past few months, I have no idea why. There used to be a few times of day that you could pretty much guarantee it would be busy but now it seems like no matter when I go there's a lot of people. Still, I'd rather come here to work out than anywhere else, The equipment is almost always in good repair, almost always clean and there are usually enough machines/weights for everyone. The the few classes that I have taken have been great, however I wish that the classes they offered were available at more varying times, they offer quite a few classes during regular business hours but not very many after 6:00 p.m. when it would be useful for anyone with a 9 to 5 job. The other strike against them is that they aren't open on Sunday, I get that this is Provo and that this is a Provo city rec center but the Heathens wanna work out on Sundays too. I know I'd be there on Sundays if it was an option. I wish that there was more childfree pool area, nothing against the kids but if my only pool option is "filled with 6 year olds" or "doing laps" that's kind of a bummer. Also the floor in the changing area is a hazard if your feet are wet. I've fallen on my ass more than once. When you get out to the pool are a the floor is textured enough to feel safe but in the changing room it's tile so wet feet just slip on it. That seems like an oversight that should probably be addressed at some point. read more

I may just be the Provo Rec Center's biggest fan. To be honest, it has become one of my happy places. As far as city recreation centers go, this one is awesome. I definitely think a membership here is worth the investment. Here are all of the things you will have access to: cardio machines (treadmill, elliptical, bikes, stair climbers, rowing machines, etc.), just about every kind of weight machine, a plethora of free weights, a large outdoor pool and water play area, indoor and outdoor water slides, indoor lap pool and kids pool play areas, basketball courts, racquetball, wallyball, pickle ball, ping pong, shuffle board, pool tables, access to childcare, dozens of fitness classes (weight training, spin, yoga, Zumba, Pilates, high fitness, etc.), a bouldering wall, and so much more! Your pass here also gives you access to 7 peaks where they have an ice skating rink and another workout area with more weights and equipment. Not only can this be your gym, but it can be your next date night or family outing! The type of people that come here aren't the meatheads or half naked people you find at other gyms. This place is full of old ladies and your neighbor down the street who are just trying to live a healthier lifestyle. They also keep this place very clean and they keep the equipment in good shape. (If I see a machine broken down one day, it's almost always fixed and ready to go the next day.) It's also full of windows and natural light. Just an all around great place to be! read more

This is one of the best--or at least has the most amenities--of any facility I have been to in the country, and we've been to quite a few at least in the mid to lower Atlantic states and southern region (thanks to nationwide YMCA member access). The aquatics amenities include huge indoor and outdoor kid play structures and large slides, rock wall, cliff jump/high dive, lazy river, wave pool, etc. And at $5 for adults and $3 for kids, it's cheaper even than the average rec center admission. A beautiful facility with plenty of pool and gym space for all ages. I've also never had an issue with finding an open piece of equipment to use. My problems come from lack of consistency with pool regulations and equipment cleaning. I have a six year old special needs child who is potty training. Their policy is to triple up meaning, swim diaper, vinyl cover, and bathing suit cover to prevent pool closures (understandable.) First time we took her to swim she was ecstatic as she loves the water. After a few minutes of being in the water, we were promptly told she needed a vinyl cover or else she couldn't' swim. After asking lifeguards if they had them available her size, I was told they weren't sure and we still needed to take her out. (Autistic kiddos and temperature changes don't play well.) So I took her out and we went out of the pool to the front counter where we both had to wait, completely soaked for staff to find a cover for her. Mind you this was during peak hours on a Monday evening. Finally they found their largest size after five minutes which, for the record, barely fits her. (On a side note, we had our towels stolen poolside which when you have a bunch of wet kids, is a pain and very inconvenient. ) Later in the month, I went to use their gym equipment upstairs I saw not one, but two infants without vinyl covers in the pool. It was midday so they were the only ones using the area. Lifeguards walked by them, made eye contact and watched the infants play but said nothing. Didn't have them get out of the pool or anything. I brought this to the attention of staff who said, we'll make sure to have them put on a cover. Went back upstairs to finish my workout and nothing was said. My other issue is the gym equipment. Top of the line, very nice to use however, it is never cleaned off. Let me repeat, IT IS NEVER CLEANED OFF. Although there are signs for patrons to carry their own towel to wipe off their sweat, the spray cleaner is behind the employee desk in a bucket which leads me to believe that is what the staff on the computer is supposed to be doing. I've gone on treadmills and elipticals for up to an hour on multiple occasions and have never seen anyone clean them off. I'm talking about the weight benches, weight machines where people sit, etc. As a nurse and someone who has taken microbiology, this is just nasty. If it wasn't for my employee discount and the reimbursement through my husbands work, we most likely wouldn't go here. read more

This place is impressive. One of the newest facilities in the state, and as long as it's maintained, it'll stay top notch. The developers really considered its community in the planning. In it's two stories, there's: - a walking / running track - racquetball courts - a kids swim park - lap pool - indoor play structure - gym equipment - spinning room That's just inside folks. I noticed a Summer pool outside and a skate park too. But it was too cold for me to want to see what else was out there. For the 2 kids and me, we paid the sweet price of $13! That's cheaper than a movie ticket. Unfortunately, I did dock a star because outside food and drinks are poo-pooed upon, even at their tables. Even this I would have overlooked, but if that's the case, then at least have the cafe open. On the other hand, we were welcome to eat outside in the 30 degree weather... riiiiiight. With forever hungry kids, not eating is not an option. Can't wait to see what's in store during the Summer. See you then, Rec Center! read more

I've been to a lot of gyms in my life and I'm 56 years old. The Provo Recreation Center is the opitome of a fabulous work out area. I mean you have the fabulous upstairs padded walking track...with gigantic windows all around the building with a spectacular view of the Wasatch Mountains. Treadmills, stationary bikes, raquet ball courts, basketball courts, aerobics room, free weights area, spin area for bikes and on a seperate side the pool area. I have never seen a gym so beautiful and well designed anywhere in the United States. Everytime I go walking here I feel like a rockstar.
