My daughter had a scout meetup here. This arena is big and apparently very popular for open skate night on Thursdays. Like way over populated! Skates are old and laces are in dire need of replacement. There appeared to be 3 rinks that I saw. Several hockey teams practicing. An indoor weight area, poss boy either an indoor or outdoor soccer field as we saw girls with soccer balls walking in. They have a small snack purchasing area. read more

Currently playing a hockey tournament hosted by PPE. Do not participate in these tournaments. They are completely biased, unmanaged.

It's been a minute since I've been ice skating at this rink, but it was as great of an experience as I remembered. My wife and I didn't feel like doing the usual fancy dinner for Valentine's Day this year, and wanted something a little more unique. When we saw that Peaks was putting on an event, we jumped at the chance. We checked in and got our skates easily. No waiting and service was friendly. They had two rinks open, and on one of the rinks, they had an area closed off where you could use red pens to write love notes on the ice. We drew pictures and notes alongside other couples and families, and when we were done it was fun to skate around and look at everyone else's. It's also pretty cool to know that you're skating on Olympic ice. Even more exciting with the Olympics coming up again. They also had food trucks outside, which is always a nice addition to an event. We really enjoyed everything overall, and hope they do more in the future. The only big con was they advertised a BOGO deal for the event, but they charged us full price. read more

I came here with a large group and we were helped immediately by the staff handing out the skates at that desk. They were friendly and nice. They smiled and where patient. The place was packed and the ice was well used... or skated on. However, the skate where pretty sharp because you didn't feel like you where following other people's paths. The skates cut their own path which made it more pleasant to be on the ice. My only recommendation, the staff at the front desk could say something like "welcome to Peaks Ice Arena" or something so that customers might feel less awkward as the first walk in maybe. read more

This place has it all! From fitness classes to public skating, to drop-in hockey, to soccer tournaments, to college nights, there's something at Peaks Ice Arena for everyone. I visit the Fieldhouse (gym and training facilities) five times a week and love it because it's rarely crowded. The weights and machines are high quality (though there are not a lot of cardio machines for you cardio-lovers). With NHL and Olympic-sized ice rinks, public skate is open nearly every day for good chunks of time. For hockey players, there are lots of locker rooms--they aren't the best you've seen, but they get the job done. I love playing hockey games here on the Olympic-sized ice because the size of the stands make games feel more than just beer-league. Side note: For Provo residents, take advantage of extremely low membership rates--for close to $175 a year you get unlimited trips to the Provo Rec Center, Fieldhouse gym at Peaks, public ice skating fees, and more read more

The arena never prioritizes hockey at all. Rarely have drop ins or stick times. This place use to be awesome about giving ice time to hockey players now its been extremely disappointing and I would never recommend this location for fun. read more

**This is a review of the Fieldhouse Fitness Center in the front of the arena. ** This is an offsite fitness center affiliated with Provo Rec Center located in the Peaks Ice Arena. Your membership to the Provo Rec Center allows you access to the facility and classes. They have weight lifting classes, circuit training, and free floor availability. They have TRX bands, grass area, and lots of weightlifting equipment. They also have amazing personal trainers that you can chose from to do 1:1 time. My favorite classes are: Fieldhouse Fitness- circuit style workouts that incorporate cardio and weightlifting (MWF) Weigh Training- Overall Full body weightlifting, typically there is a upper body section and lower body section. This class feels more CrossFit-esque(T, TH) Love Love Love read more

I play hockey here 2-3x a week and love the facility here. The changing rooms/bathrooms are clean 9/10 times and the ice is good too. Well, as long as you don't have a game right after the public skating. I wish there were more early morning ice times for drop-ins/stick and puck, but the leagues are fun and the management is helpful. read more

Wow, the updated facilities here are so nice. The gym equipment all looks like it's brand new. One, because...it's pretty new. Two, because everything is well-maintained. More-than-adequate squat racks, bars, free weights, pull-up bars, agility equipment, ect. Even in the mornings when it's pretty busy, there's enough space to do your thing without feeling like you're in someone's way. The indoor turf space is what I come for though. It's smaller than a standard football/frisbee/soccer field, but it's a fantastic practice space, especially during the winter when playing outdoors is miserable. read more

The Peaks Ice Arena was a 2002 Olympic venue with two world class Olympic size ice rinks, and two indoor turf fields. The Peaks offers public skating, hockey games, and rental space for birthday parties and other events. The Peaks Ice Arena is home to the Peaks Figure Skating Club, several Utah County High School teams and the Brigham Young University hockey club. We went skating at the Peaks on Saturday and had a lot of fun. Admission and skate rental was about $7 -- which seemed pretty reasonable. The place was crazy busy though without much of any kind of regulation so people were skating everywhere and every which way. It was fun and I had a good time skating, but making sure I didn't run into anyone or have someone run into me was tough. My advice: Don't go on a Saturday. ;) read more

I am very disappointment with staff here. Yesterday my 11 year old nephew with autism accidentally turned in his mates when he went for a drink and when he came back they would not return them to him even though it was a complete accident. He was on a young men's outting and became emotional was extremely embarrassed and then he had to sit and watch everyone else skate till they were done. Give the young boy his skates!!! Never ever returning to this skate rink. Please change your policy. read more

It's difficult to know exactly how to rate this place. So much of it is fantastic. The facilities are clean and well-kept (minus the rental skates - those suckers are pretty worn). It's a fun, huge place with a lot to do and it's great to have something like this in the community. In addition to public skate for $7, there is a separate rink for local and university hockey games. There are small indoor soccer fields, and a concession stand that sells hot chocolate, nachos, etc. My one major complaint is that they don't seem to have a quota system on the public skate, like, at all. I've now been several times - on a Friday, Saturday, and Wednesday. Every single time was insane to the point of not being fun anymore. So many people that I ended up leaving because you could barely move out on the ice. There are just wayyyy too many people. My goal next is to try for an afternoon open skate in the hopes that there will be smaller crowds. read more

Loved taking my kids to their Try Hockey For Free Day! It really gave us some good insight to whether our kids are even interested or not. They had an hour from exactly on the hour to the hour, which was more than enough for my 5 and 7 year olds. The snack stand is a great deal for typical sport snacks; we especially love their $1 kiddie hot chocolate sizes! They offer great hockey leagues, that my husband plays in, although they should be a little more strict on who they allow to play in the lower levels. For example, one particular team who obviously should be in the B league, is getting away with dominating the C league, thus taking away the fun of the competition with all the other more equal teams in that league. Said team has continued to sign up for the C league and should be forced to B. read more

I'm completely, totally, madly in love with the Peaks Ice Arena and ice skating in general. Open skating started at 7 and there were quite a few people waiting to go in. That said, there wasn't much of a line to get skates or tickets. The rink is big enough to accommodate all levels of proficiency and there's a handy wall for beginners. Most of the people there are pretty courteous, so you can learn at your own pace. I'm not really sure what to say, honestly. It's a skating rink. The staff were nice. The skates seemed clean enough, with a low price tag of $5 (or maybe $2. The skating fee might have been $5 and the rental $2. Either way, it's $7 a person.) So, yeah. Can't think of a better place to fall repeatedly. Edit: Some people might be opposed to the upbeat pop/dance music. I love upbeat pop/dance music, so I could have stayed there all night. read more

Peaks ice arena is definitely worth going there to learn to ice skate. They have great lessons, and fantastic teachers. Ive only been to 2 lessons, and theres such a difference. I highly recommend the lessons for both figure skating and hockey. read more

Went there around 8pm. There website showed they had open skate from 7pm to 9pm. The rude kid at the service desk said we couldn't go skate. The website said first come first serve. Figured that meant as 1 person leaves 1 person goes in. Nope apparently it means you have to buy tickets before the time starts. When I asked when the next time public skate was all he said was times are different everyday and wouldn't let us know when we could show up to buy tickets. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Pros, Cons, then summary. Went here with my son's hockey team for a tournament. PROs--The rink is very nice. Alot of money went into it, as it was the site for the 2002 Olympics. The locker rooms were big. Bleachers were nice on one rink, not that many on the other side. The parking lot was big. The ice was nice and the kids didn't have any issues skating. The usage of 2 zambonis was great too, and didn't create any lag time between games. CONs--Snack bar was limited. The toilets in a couple locker rooms and the main bathroom backed up. Pretty gross, and one didn't get fixed the entire weekend we were there. The snack bar was limited. There needs to be more restrooms for customers in a place this big. There wasn't a way to watch the games from behind both nets. That's my favorite viewing point... Would I go back? Yes...if I lived in Utah. But more than likely, no. It is far from home, and the only reason I was there was for a tournament. (The tournament was run terribly, but that isn't the arena's fault.) read more

Great place to skate at and the prices are amazing compared to California's Ice rinks

I've had a Provo Rec pass for the last 2-3 years. The Field-house CrossFit style gym is phenomenal. During the day it's usually pretty empty, in the morning (0600-0800) it's usually pretty busy. In the evening is almost always empty. There are not showers or changing rooms but there are bathrooms and the staff are generally friendly. The facility is always well kept. read more

I'm very glad that this place exists, the facilities seem very well appointed and maintained. I was surprised to see an indoor soccer field because it was COLD AF in here. I mean, I know that it's an ice arena so, presumably it needs to be kind of cold in there but DAMN. Get some like space heaters or something. I was there for like 3 hours and when I left, stepping outside into the 29 degree winter weather felt not at all different. I literally couldn't feel my toes. Anyway. It was cold. There is also a pretty dope concessions stand. They sell that good good Stephen's hot cocoa for only $2 which came in pretty handy re: the cold (see above). They also have regular concessions food like soft pretzels, plus some foods that look a little more like actual meals, like those little personal sized pizzas. The cost to get in was like $7 including skate rentals which seems a bit high but I guess it is an Olympic quality venue. If you do come here to skate, get there before 7; 7 is when "free skate" begins and it's also when about a billion people walk in the front door all at once. Do yourself a favor and get there a little early. read more

Loved that this was in Provo! It makes for a fabulous birthday party or New Year's Eve activity with the kids! Mine have loved it every time! We go every chance we get! read more

This is a nice, clean place to enjoy time with your date, spouse, friend or family. There are a lot of people arriving early, so when the session starts, get here early so you can stand in line to get tickets and then stand in line to get your skates. If you arrive and there is a long line for both, have someone stand in each line at same time. You will need your ticket for purchasing the skating session in order to get your skates. So you will want to coordinate these events to save time. Price is not bad, reasonable. This venue was used during 2002 Olympics and it remains in good condition. There is a snack court available with candy, food, drinks, etc. Have a good time and make some memories! I recommend this place. read more

This is the third time I have scheduled a babysitter, driven 30 minutes to Provo, and was turned away for reaching "maximum capacity". I have absolutely had it with this COVID crap. The person at the door told me they had a line of 50 people waiting at 6:30pm to buy tickets. How is that helping social distancing? I was also told that I can't prepay for tickets or reserve time. I'm no longer disappointed; I'm pissed off. read more

Love this facility, staff and their Learn to Skate program! Best place to go during a hot summer

My experience could have been better. My husband, granddaughter, and I came for public skate. The ice was good and seemed well kept and it wasn't overpriced for admission and skate rentals. My concern was the staff. They didn't seem to care or want to be there. My daughter got a drink and lost her straw so she went up to the front desk, where there were about 4 employees just hanging out and talking, and she asked for a straw. Heaven forbid one of you lazy workers actually get up and get her a straw. She says, "Straws are on the counter" which they were not. And then when we were getting our skates, I literally had to wake up the person sitting in the skate rental place. I know in the summer it can be kind of dead in a rink, but work isn't the place to be catching z's. It wasn't until I met a nice younger man who was sweeping in the lobby and mopping (I think his name was Adam). While he was working we talked about his family and how he loves the ice and caring for it. He was the guy driving the machine on the ice. If not for this employee, I would think this rink would be really going downhill because I wasn't seeing anyone else caring for the facility like he was. This young man gave us a better experience. I hope the rink gets more employees like him. read more
