I went to this clinic for a regular check up and for a new prescription. What I waited 3 weeks to…read moreget was a pair of thick, heavy, prism glasses which I did not want or ask for. Dr. Hornsby examined me. I told the woman that was supposed to assist me that they are not what I wanted, so she told me that they could substitute those with regular precription lens. All I had to do was wait until the replacement glasses came in and they would call me to bring in my own frames and the refit would take about an hour. Well, they did call me and they prepared the regular lens to fit my frame. When I sat down to try the glasses on, the same woman sat down accross from me and immediately accused me of cussing and told me that my conduct was not allowed in the store. I was totally shocked by her accusation and asked where that came from because I did not cuss at anyone at any time and she told me that 2 other employees heard me and told her. My wife was with me and she said I did not cuss at all. The woman then told me that the store has microphones and that she would listen to hear what I said. Well, she never got back to me on that and the new glasses are totally useless because when I put them on, everything was distorted and blurry. I told her that and she said that I just had to get used to them. Get used to them, have you ever had to get used to a pair of prescription glasses? I'm 87 years old and a retired, decorated U.S. Navy veteran and I have had dozens of prescription glasses in my life and never had to GET USED TO THEM. I also have never been treated so badly at any store in my entire life. The woman that said I was cussing and assisted me was very rude to say the least. She would not listen long enough for me to tell her what the problem was with the glasses. Now I'm out $533 and no glasses. I bought a pair of Walmart READERS for about $12 and can read and see better then what I got at this place. PLEASE, don't go to this store for anything.

Drs are great, however service to get contacts or place orders do not work. On my 5th attempt in 2…read moreweeks to get a contact order. Still on hold at 15 min!

Dr. Perryman is the best! It's wonderful place. I love the ladies at the desk as well. They are always so helpful and nice With the COVID19, they made everything more comfortable. The only complaint I had today is about the red headed young girl who was doing the glasses . I was going to sit my 2 year old in the chair to put his shoes on and her tone was a little off about us needing to sit to the side. But she may not have had a good day or something. I hope our next meeting goes better and if she was having a bad day, it got better.

Absolutely amazing! They are so friendly and full of life. I loved it! I usually dislike going to…read morethe optometrist because you feel shuffled in and blam puck these and get out. Not here! They took their time and made sure you were happy with your choices. But beyond that, my spouse had a serious eye condition. He has been to several optometrists over the years and told he had holes in his retinas but was never told it was important to have it checked beyond an eye exam. Family Eye Center did not just pass him off. They schedule him to see a specialist where he found out one of the holes was leaking. If he had waited much longer he could have lost vision in that eye. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! I can not express my gratitude and appreciation for everything you did for us.

In October of 2025 I went to the Marianna store for an eye exam and looked for frames at that…read morestore, I didn't see anything that was fitting me just right, they suggested I go to the Dothan office that they had a larger selection. I went over and found a pair that I liked, sat with one of their SALESPEOPLE and was told that after insurance my TOTAL would be $400. I paid for the sunglasses and asked for them to be sent to the Marianna office because it was closer for me to pick up. I was sent or received a message a couple to a few weeks later that my sunglasses were ready for pick up. I went to the Marianna office and they told me they did not receive them they were still in the Dothan office, I was going away that weekend and wanted the new glasses so I drove to Dothan and picked them up. Fast forward a couple months I get a bill for $1100 for my glasses. Make a call to the Dothan office and they say it was never submitted to the insurance company and said they would submit it. Now 6 months later I get a bill for $92 for sales tax on the glasses that I paid $400 for. These guys play a lot of games with their billing and making the numbers look better than they are! I guess the first girl doesn't know how to add the tax to my "TOTAL" before the sale. The other people don't know how to add my insurance to the sale and the other people don't know how to ship the glasses to Marianna like I asked before they tell me they are there. Not very professional! Typical salespeople!! BEWARE!! For me NEVER AGAIN!! TOO much stupidity for a pair of glasses!!

March 9, 2026 In January 2025 and February 2025, I had…read morecataract surgeries with lens implants. I have used Eye Center South previously and had no problems, in fact, I had a great experience. However, this time proved to be a different story: (1) I was misled in what the results of the lens implants should be (how well I would be able to see after the implants), (2) the review of past history, current tests, and results of the surgery were ignored, (3) there were not follow-ups at the office the day after each surgery, only a phone call from a staff member (4) the CRNA made rude comments just prior to surgery and the doctors made rude comments during follow-up visits, (5) there was a good size skin tear on the end of my nose when I awoke from the 2nd cataract/implant surgery-this was totally avoidable-there is NO reason for it other than being too aggressive in pulling the tape off, and (6) the price for lenses was $920/lens higher than what other local ophthalmologists charge. **The positive is that the nurses and receptionists were professional and helpful.
