I've been coming here for years and have always received excellent care. Tonight, I had a bit of a scare with my son when he lost his front tooth and only the crown came out while the root remained in his mouth. Since it was almost 5 p.m., both his dentist and pediatrician were already closed, but Clear Creek was still open. I called, sent over a photo as requested, and was reassured right away. Spent 6 months waiting for a cleaning, told them I needed an afternoon appointment. They notified me my appt was at noon. I asked to reschedule for an afternoon appt like I requested, they gave me an update of 2 weeks later and at 1pm. Told that wouldn't work and I needed later in the day. While I do like the dentist and the team here. The financial side of the business is ran poorly. This dental office requires upfront payment for services, even if the patient has dental insurance. Dual dental insurance my case. After the insurance company processes and pays for the services, the office does not automatically refund the patient for any overpayment. Instead, they retain the excess funds until the patient specifically requests a reimbursement check. These funds rightfully belong to the patient. Some people depend on that refund after insurance pays, or why even have insurance. It raises the question: why is the office accepting and holding payments from both the insurance company and the patient? read more

The facility is awesome. The staff is always top notch and we loved the hygienists and dentists - but we only get two cleanings/xrays and exam each year and the price for their "package" went up $150 over the past two years ($300 more per year for my husband and I). That is too much! We have no periodontal disease, we take good care of our mouths. I think we are paying to offset what the insurance pays on insured patients. Moving on...... read more

I would not recommend this boujee dentist office to anyone that needs a crown. I have had multiple crowns filled by Dr. Carman and they have failed over the last couple of years. One of my crowns recently shifted and I called the office to see how I could get it fixed and they didn't even bother to return my call. They used to be a smaller clinic with loads of potential, but now I would say they are too big for their britches to provide quality individualized care. I can genuinely say that I've never in my life had a better experience with a business than I did with Clear Creek Dental. Which I admit, is a very odd claim to make about a dentist... If you're like me and you pay attention to certain details, details that in my opinion matter a great deal in any work environment, you'll notice fairly quickly, that the entire staff is happy... and not that fake professional happy either, They're also all so kind, and not that company policy kindness. Genuine Kindness. "The vibe" is impossible to not to notice. Yes I'm talking about a dentists office... This place is rare and special and I feel blessed to have found it. But keep reading, I promise I'm not just saying all of this for little reason. I'm going to try and not drag this review out by describing things that I don't think my words could ever give justice to, so you're really just going to have to trust me and see for yourself. Everything I've written till now was my personal experience.. so allow me to try and describe my professional experience with Clear Creek Dental. I found Clear Creek after calling no less than 30 other offices in the Reno Tahoe area. It was a Saturday and I was in excruciating pain, ..caused by a root canal I needed but had put off for three months... and I was reminded in the most painful way possible why you should not put off dental work. Not one dentist was willing to see me that day, let alone give me a root canal like I desperately needed. Especially not ON A SATURDAY. I'd almost given up when I called Clear Creek and a woman named Jen picked up...I'll never forget how the conversation went. I told her what was going on and and she told me to come in. It was hard for me to believe it because I'd been told by every other place that specialists needed to be called or that I could be out on an "emergency waiting list" (yes that's a for real thing apparently) but Jen told me she could get me in that day. That should have been my first clue. This review is getting way too long but I just have so much to say about this place and it's hard to keep it short. I'll end with this. Dr Carman saved me from mind numbing pain, not once, but twice in the same week. Dr Carman, like Clear Creak is also very difficult to describe and impossible not to love instantly. Dr Carman is annoyingly awesome. I'm being serious. No one needs to be that great at that many things. When I heard he also ran track. I nearly vomited. He's like that Navy Seal Astronaut Medical Doctor. You both need to chill. Which makes what he did for me understandable yet no less mind boggling. He's also really funny which has got to make his job unnecessarily difficult... doing dental work in a laughing mouth... This is the part of the story that made me want to tell it to begin with... Dr Carman gave me something, something that I don't recall any other human being have given me before today, and I'll remember it long after all my teeth are gone, even the two he saved. He gave me empathy and pure generosity. Generosity you hear about but you never actually experience. The kind that makes for a great Hallmark Movie. You see, I could not pay for two root canals. I don't have dental insurance or very much money.. And while every other dentist would have recommended an extraction(I know this because it's happened to me before when I could not pay) Dr Carman said to me, "let's just get you feeling better" and that all. So I wasn't expecting what happened at all. I was already doing the financial olympics in my head to try to figure out how I would pay for the work he was doing, (the car I'd driven to the appointment is worth less than two root canals)... When all of a sudden Eileen walks in shows me my bill, im not the most spiritual of men but it was hard not to thank God for putting this man in my life. It took everything I had not to cry. I can't explain his act of kindness at all. I'm a stranger, new to Carson from completely and totally different walks of life. It's hard not to have your faith in humanity supercharged after an experience like this. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you. It's not even so much about the money you saved me today. It's really the faith you've given me. I came in to restore my decaying tooth and you also restored my decaying heart(man was that corny) If you value good and kind hearted people who do amazing work. There are good dentists, great dentists...and beyond that...there's the phenomenal Clear Creek Dental. Wow! Am I impressed. I saw Dr. Harrington yesterday for an emergency visit. His communication during the procedure was unlike any dentist I've ever experienced in my entire life. He described everything he was doing as he was doing it, and checked in with me about my comfort level the entire time. His caring and communication, plus his adept skill ranks him as the best dentist I've ever seen. I felt cared about as an individual, rather than just feeling like a next patient in a chair. previous review: Finally! We *finally* found a good dentist! I just got a phone call from my husband after his first dentist appointment with Dr. Carmen, and I am so happy. Backstory: He had dental work done here in Gardnerville by a guy that I have honestly considered reporting for fraud and malpractice. Husband had an entire top plate made, and partial bottom. Within six months, teeth started falling out! When he went in to see the "dentist", he wanted MORE MONEY to fix what were TEMPORARY plates! My husband has been dealing with hardly being able to eat for the past TWO YEARS because of these plates. Well, the other day, somehow our (ninja) dog got a hold of and chewed up his bottom plate. So, because a quack did the first set, we knew we were going to have to come out of pocket for a new bottom. Whatever. Husband went in, tentatively, since both of us have had so many issues finding a good dentist here. Apparently, Dr Carmen is going to get him a new PERMANENT bottom plate, and is going to fix his top plate. I am floored by how happy my husband is with this office, and will be making myself an appointment soon enough for preventive work. :) UPDATE: 01/23/19 I can't say enough good things about this office. I wish I could give infinite stars. LOL My husband had a string of bad experiences at another office, and switched to CC Dental some time ago. After hearing continuous and consistent feedback from him about how awesome this office is, I finally made a new patient appointment. I was greeted immediately as I walked in the door, and offered coffee. :) I met my dental hygienist Lauren and she was amazing. She was so relaxed and made the experience for me, really. I've been going here for a while. I originally specifically asked to see dr Carmen, and was assigned to an awesome hygienist as well. At first out was good. Then the hygienist left, and I started getting shuffled began every new person they brought in to the office. Dr Harrington started reviewing issues that came up instead of Dr Carmen. A few months ago, I had a tooth starting to get sensitive, and unrelatedly Dr Harrington said I needed a crown. A couple months later, I had a new CEREC crown that I had to pay almost $1k for. It took four visits to get it seated right. It eventually got infected, and I had to go to a full root canal. That also took several visits to get right. To this day, I've paid almost $1500 after insurance to have a fancy new crown put in, just to have them drill it out and filled later on. Worst part, the tooth is still sensitive months later. I go in afterwards for a cleaning, and low and behold my gums are now bad and I need to have an extra "deep cleaning". Another $200 that the insurance won't cover. And I have to wait 7 months just to get it done. I know things are tight with Covid, but the service and wait times are ridiculous. The staff is great and the Doctor apologized through every mistake that was made, but the experience is pretty horrible this year. read more

When I moved to Minden, I had severe pain in a molar. It was a Saturday and the only dentist that I could find that was open was Clear Creek Dental. I went in, the Dentist seem nice and referred me to an oral surgeon. I had to have the tooth extracted and that was the end of that story. I continued going to Clear Creek Dental for my dental cleanings, as did my husband, only to find out a year later, that they were not in network with my dental insurance. I was also shocked to find out that I had $1000 bill owed it to them. I called and explained the circumstances and asked if we could just split the bill since it was partly my fault for not checking with my dental plan,and their answer was absolutely not. I just made my final payment to them, and just want everybody to be aware that if you go there, they're not going to let you know that they're not in your network. BEWARE! read more

In this day and age it is hard to find rigorous honesty. Trust is ever so important in a patient-healthcare provider setting, where the consumer-patient relies on the expertise of the provider for the highest quality of service at an affordable price. This is important in my case as I was paying out of pocket. Having parted ways with my previous dentist when offering resistance\suspicion after being told that I need 4 fillings to go along with my Veneer, I came to see Dr. Harrington at Clear Creek Dental. He didn't charge me for my new x-rays provided because I brought over my old ones! $140 saved right there cha-ching! Next he evaluated the new x-rays, conducted some sensitivity testing, and delivered the delightful news that the fillings are not needed, that we can combat the issue with a prescription mouth wash. $800 more saved cha-ching! I had to hold back from dancing the Cha Cha around the operating chair! I was stoked! Now came the inevitable Veneer. Growing up in the USSR we didn't get even get anesthetic for root canals, so the only people who would really go to see a dentist were kids or people past 40. People would literally take a 20 year break just to not face the horror of Soviet Dental Kevorkian! The only uncomfortable part of the Veneer experience was the needle going into my gum, after that I found the rest of the procedure PAINLESS. That's right, I started to become suspicious that there was no pain during the shot, drilling, grinding, etc. Soon enough the aforementioned suspicion turned into joy and admiration for Dr. Harrington's mastery of his craft. Same goes for Estela, who effortlessly assisted Dr. Harrington and was a pro though and through. In the 5-10 year future most Dentist experiences will be like the one I went through at Clear Creek Dental. However, unless you have a time-machine in your back-yard, save yourself some stress, and go to someone you can trust with your smile! read more

Worst dentist ever!! Took my three sons in for a cleaning and a check up and they neglected to tell us in advance that they lost their hygienist. They did s check up only way back in March. Could not schedule the cleaning til October. Blanca their billing person is very rude and not helpful at all. She makes it seem as if it's your fault that she neglected to call you back and do her job. I have been waiting since March for corrected bills and still have yet to get them. When I call in she loses her notes on our account and can't remember what was done last. Then they called our teenage son and told him "your dad needs to call in and get his account straightened out. I will now go somewhere else since they can't seem to do anything right. Best advice, find a dentist that all departments know how to do their jobs. This one is not it. read more
