I have always had a fear of dental appointments and procedures since having a terrible experience in High School. My fear caused me to avoid dental appointments at any costs, and would cause me to be in tears whenever I had to go. So when I was referred to Dr.Buck for an assessment on extreme pain I was having, I was feeling extreme anxiety. My experience with Dr.Buck and his team couldn't have been further from my initial expectation. From the moment I was greeted, I felt welcome and comfortable. Throughout my scans, Jolie was polite, compassionate to my fears, and reassured me that I would have answers for why I was in so much pain. Dr. Buck was so patient as I explained the many ups and downs of the pain I had been feeling. And when I was done, he validated everything I had been feeling and took the time to explain how all that pain aligned with what he saw in my scans. After understanding the problem, he then explained to me the different options available, as well as his recommendation. I proceeded to have a root canal within 10 minutes of that conversation. In the past, I would have needed weeks to mentally prepare myself for that procedure, as well as bring someone as a support system. However, Dr. Buck and his team were so patient and understanding up until that point that I felt comfortable going right into the procedure. The whole experience at Dr. Buck's office demonstrated to me that him, and his whole team, truly care about their patients. I felt like the whole time I was there, their main focus was keeping me comfortable and out of pain. Within an hour and a half of walking in, I was walking out surprised I had just had a root canal, as well as out of the excruciating pain I had been experiencing for the full week prior. What a pleasant surprise the entire appointment was..Initially, I had concern. A week prior, as I was scheduling an appt (on my dentists referral) I was asked for my email so that the office could send me necessary forms to fill out. Two days prior, I called the office to confirm my appt, mentioned the lapse, was told it would be emailed. The forms were never sent. That aside, when I arrived those tasks were completed at a computer monitor, within the receptionist office. In her space, right behind her. A little odd, but ultimately I think that was what was preferred all along. Could have saved me some tiny anxiety had I been told "we will allow you time to complete all the forms when you arrive". The office seems small upon entry, but it is quite large, with multiple exam rooms. Neat. Clean. Restroom was glorious. Sparkling. He even offers clean amenities such as mouthwash and something else I can't recall, but was impressed with its presence. His assistant was gentle, obviously well trained and she had a soft manner about her. She was able to obtain very good X-rays, where previous attempts had been unsuccessful! I really appreciated her. Her touch, her manner, her skill. Very comforting. Dr. Buck...my first impression of him was bright. Full of light really. Bright blue eyes, beautiful white teeth, a full happy smile. Radiates a confidence. He referred to himself as a kind of numbers-dental geek. Good handshake. He is young, which in my book is awesome. Knows what he's doing. According to my dentist this Dr has done hundreds of these procedures. Has all the equipment, gives you the facts, listens to your input, gives you time and alternatives, and let's you make the decision. Couldn't have been more pleased. I recently had the pleasure of dealing with Dr. Buck. I had a consulation and was going to have the work done the same day. I quickly discovered I had serious anxiety and nearly passed out. Dr. Buck and his staff were extremely compassionate and took great care making sure I was ok. We rescheduled the appointment and I was prescribed a medication to ease my anxiety and make me drowsy. This medication worked great, I have little memory of the procedure. I am a PTSD survivor and Dr. Buck and staff helped me through the whole process of having a root canal, something that I struggled with. Dr. Buck has an impeccable bedside manner and he checked in throughout the process to make sure I was doing ok. The day after the procedure i got a surprise phone call from Dr. Buck himself asking how i was doing. That meant a lot to me and the care and empathy shown by Dr. Buck and his entire staff meant the world to me. They made an unpleasant experience a pleasant one. I would strongly recommend Dr. Buck to anyone facing a root canal, especially someone with anxiety. They will make as comfortable as possible. I had my first root canals 61 years ago due to an accident and have labored through several more since then. It has always been painful, protracted and a procedure to dread. That will never be the case again. At my initial visit Dr. Buck explained the endodontic advances, specifically in root canal technology, that significantly reduce the pain and generate a superior outcome. "Reduce the pain" actually isn't accurate because there simply was no pain throughout the entire procedure! What also helped is the the caring and accommodating attitude from Dr. Buck and all his staff. You are guided through every step so that you know what to expect, and every question is anwered (and I'm inquisitive). The professionalism and skill is apparent during the procedure. I chose not to use the headphones/music, and Dr. Buck's hand movements were so stable and methodical, plus he was completely focused on his work. He and his assistant Jolie were synchronized from beginning to end - it was reassuring to be treated by two professionsls who have worked together for years. I'll not look forward to another root canal, but if and when it's necessary, I'll absolutely look forward to having Dr. Buck do it! read more

No one wants to have a root canal, cuz let's face it, they're nothing fun. That being said, if one has to get one done, as I've had to have 2 (both done here), this is the place to go. The front office staff is very helpful and friendly. The assistants are amazing, and Dr. Jared Buck is phenomenal. Dr. Buck is professional, funny, very kind, and does his absolute best to make you as comfortable as he possibly can. They provide you with noise cancelling headphones and music to listen to so you aren't focused on the procedure. I have panic attacks when I have people working in my mouth, from extractions to cavities to root canals, I freak out. He's so understanding if you need a minute to collect yourself, all you gotta do is let the assistant know and she'll have him stop. Also, he'll do his absolute best to make sure you don't feel any pain, but you also have to do your part and let him know if you do. He can't help you, if you don't help him to help you. My experience here, while not the most ideal circumstance, was great. I will recommend Dr. Buck and his office to anyone who may need treatment. read more

Best root canal experience ever! This office is amazing. Amber at the front desk is patient and helpful, and she always has a smile in her voice and on her face. When you walk into the office there's a comfortable waiting area complete with complementary coffee, tea, or water. When I was taken back to an exam room Dr. Buck came in and had a brief conversation with me about myself just to get to know me a little better before we got started. Everything about this office and the way the staff treat you is designed to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. They let me listen to music while the procedure was taking place, and afterwards Jamie took the time to go over after care, what to expect over the next few days, and even gave me Dr. Buck's cell phone number in case I needed to contact them after hours. They are absolutely phenomenal, I would recommend this office to anyone! And the best part is, after having had a major toothache for over a month I was completely pain free the very next day. I recently had an appointment with Dr. Buck of Modern Endodontics, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, and as a first-time patient, I was impressed by how fast and efficient the intake process was. Dr. Buck himself was thorough and professional...he took the time to review my initial paperwork before I arrived and was already familiar with my history before we even started. After the exam, he shared his findings with me, explained everything in detail using terms that were easy to understand, and provided me with a couple of options to address my issue. He mentioned several times that my comfort was his utmost concern. Additionally, he checked in multiple times to see if I had any questions or concerns. His chair-side manner was very caring. Dr. Buck is AMAZING! Who in their right mind has a root canal and walks out smiling?!? Well, that is exactly what happened to me. Dr. Buck is gentle and explains EVERYTHING very clearly before any procedures are done. He uses the latest technology and techniques in his procedure, and he even utilizes noise-cancelling headphones where patients listen to music THEY choose (thus blocking out some of the noise that make people really nervous in a dental office). Going to Dr. Buck is a win-win on all fronts! He will tell you that he focuses on patient comfort in treating root canal issues, and that is an ACCURATE statement. HE REALLY DOES! The office staff and dental assistants? They were all awesome, especially the Receptionist Elise (sp). Her professional demeanor is unbelievable. Dr. Buck is the most impressive doctor I have ever been to. He was attentive and careful, highly knowledgable, and uniquely personable. I came in on a referral from my dentist for a root canal. Dr. Buck sent me home with a mouth guard saying the issue was more likely a bite/bruxism problem and an overly stressed tooth. He educated me on recent studies showing a direct correlation between snoring, sleep issues, headaches, and teeth problems. His words were, "I'm a horrible salesman. I don't make money by sending you home. And I'm sending you home. Call me Monday and I would be surprised if your issue has not improved." Well, it definitely improved. I can now chew on my right side, I can withstand cold and heat, and my tooth and jaw are both getting better by the minute. Next stop: permanent night guard. Thanks Dr. Buck! You saved the day!!! One of the best dental care providers I have ever had the good fortune to be taken care of. The skill and competence - I was treated by Dr Jared Buck and his dental assistant, Jolie - made a dread-anticipating experience into a relief - both physically re my teeth issues, and humanly. Every detail was explained and discussed in detail .. treatment options, costs, time needs, long term prospects, comfort during the procedures and after care instructions. And this is shared with you in light of my 70 years of experience with dentists and dental specialists - some past doctors causing more harm than they fixed - with my genetic predisposition to eroding enamels (and me not doing myself any benefit by giving into sweet tooth cravings along the way). :-) I totally recommend Dr Buck should you ever need endodontic dental care. Root canals can bring on all kinds of emotions. They're usually not something you look forward to. I needed a repair for a root canal that I had a few years ago. Apparently the dentist that did the original didn't exactly do it as well as it could have been done. Having to undergo treatment on a tooth that had already taken hours and dollars of my life honestly sucked. But, Dr. Buck and his assistant were amazing! I feel like if I didn't have the problem with the old root canal, I never would have known that there is a much better way, with a much better and more capable practitioner. To sum it all up, I'm so grateful for my experience with Modern Endodontics! If you have to get a root canal, this is the place to go. If you want it done right the first time, Dr. Buck should be first on your list. If you want to have a root canal on the same tooth twice, let someone else do it. Don't waste your time and money by having your general dentist do your root canal. They don't have the experience or the up to date technology that Dr. Buck has. Get it done correctly the first time by a warm and caring professional who puts your comfort first. I've had nightmare experiences with root canals before. From the very start of my appointment I could tell this place is different. Needless to say I went in very apprehensive and anxious. Dr. Buck spent a good amount of time interviewing me to try and understand what occurred with me and that tooth prior. He was so intuitive. He explained everything in a very detailed manner so I could easily understand In layman terms. Gave me the options, I made the choice then he and Trisha quickly got to work. I would say they were done pulling the old crown, cleaning up some decay, removed 3 nerves, and put in a temp filing in about 30 minutes. I was so overwhelmingly surprised. I felt absolutely NOTHING!!! We talked briefly about the plan forward. Then I find out he stayed late to help me out and was late to his sons birthday party. Great Doc, great team! read more

I was anxious regarding this needed procedure. Those anxieties were eliminated the moment I walked through the door. The receptionist was welcoming and understanding and from that moment forward the experience was not only very professional but kind and friendly. Very impressed with Dr Buck and his staff. I was referred to Dr Buck by my dentist in Truckee for a potential root canal(my first), and was understandably apprehensive. Dr Buck took ample time to listen to me describe my symptoms, was clear and direct about my options, and is excellent with the computer when showing images and describing what's going on. His staff is also great. Long story short, I felt very well taken care of, and once I decided to go ahead with my first root canal, the whole thing was over almost before I knew it, all in the same appointment(have a standard follow up, but the dirty work is done). It's now a day later, and I have no residual pain at all. I'm actually amazed. Everything was pretty well done. Dr. Buck and staff are great people professionally, and courteous. Had a root canal, 1st and hopefully last time I'll need one! But if I do need his expertise again I would like to him to do it. The noise canceling music they play for you is great. Off their music app has it they will play it for you. Clean office and facilities makes it more comfortable and assuring. Surgery went well. Had some slight discomfort from a little spillage of the filling compound down my neck. Something to watch for sir. I had 3 roots on that particular tooth which may have led to that seepage. Apparently most people have just one or possibly two roots. Dr. Jared T. Buck and Staff I've always said that the only thing worst than a root canal is being audited by the IRS. But yesterdays experience has changed my opinion. Today I met Dr. Buck, and his lovely staff. I had been referred to him from a local dentist. I needed a root canal re-treated. As you probably know, this procedure is lengthy and at times can be an uncomfortable procedure. I was not looking forward to this appointment in the least. I received wonderful treatment at Dr. Buck's Office I practiced dentistry in Carson Valley for 30 plus years. I had a lower molar prepared for a crown by my general dentist. Sometimes a tooth will become problematic after being worked on. It just happens and it is no one's fault! Dr. Buck worked on the tooth the very day I called him in pain. An angry tooth is not easy to work on but he made it seem simple! Despite the building inflammation, he got me numb and started the root canal therapy. He and his staff were kind, compassionate and caring! That night and the days following, I never took any pain medication.
