I don't mind the drive for a good experience. The hygienist has been great and the dentist, Dr. Wildman, has been to the point and clear. I have always hated the dentist but I haven't loathed going to this office as much as others. My last dentist tried to tell me I had all kinds of issues and needed expensive treatment to fix the problems, but this office has been realistic and hasn't tried to upsell unneeded treatments. Scheduling has been easy and they send plenty of appointment reminders. You can complete all paperwork in advance online or at their office on one of their computers. They have top of the line tech and make both dental work and clerical work a breeze. As long as nothing crazy happens with insurance billing or upcoming appointments, I expect this review to stand at 5 stars. I recommend Arrowhead Dental Center for your dental needs!

I have had dental issues throughout my life and am now 65 years old. Dr. Eckerman suggested that I have her complete a dental plan which I agreed. The plan called for approximately $65,000.00 worth of treatment. Essentially removing all of my fixed bridges and several teeth and replacing with implants. Now if I were 25 or 30 years old, maybe spending $65,000.00 might make sense but at my age I did not feel that it was cost effective. That is more than I paid for my first house. I did take Dr. Eckerman's advice to have several teeth removed (she does not do extractions but referred me to a great oral surgeon) plus I had some fixed bridges removed and replaced with implants. One of the issues apparently was that I had the implants done in Mexico for a fraction of US prices. Dr. Eckerman was not pleased however I continued to see her for some other work as well as cleanings. About four weeks ago I developed a toothache and called Dr. Eckerman's office and was given an appointment on January 8, 2020 with the promise that if something came open sooner they would call me. Nothing was available sooner. I saw Dr. Eckerman on my appointment date and she told me that I needed a root canal but that she did not have time to do it and referred me to a root canal "specialist". As I was about to leave, Dr. Eckerman told me that her dental philosophy and mine were incompatible and that she would not longer see me as a patient. The day after my appointment and Dr. Eckerman's verbal admonishment I received a letter in the mail confirming that she was severing our doctor/patient relationship. I have always paid for my appointments and work on time, in fact I have dental insurance that Dr. Eckerman accepted until recently. She no longer accepts any dental insurance. I am extremely disappointed with Dr. Eckerman's attitude and unprofessionalism. I've never heard of a dentist "firing" a patient before. I have to believe that this was primarily due to me not accepting the $65,000. plan as well as my dental treatment from Mexico. Both my wife and I have been seeing Dr. Eckerman and have both referred others to her. I can't in good conscience do that anymore. Dr. Eckerman has completely lost my respect. I my opinion she is completely unprofessional. I am concerned that Dr. Eckerman's attitude, conduct and unprofessionalism may be based on age discrimination.

I reached out to the insurance company, Hometown Health, regarding this. They decided to call this Minden Absolute office and all three if us were on conference call in order to get to the bottom of why the insurance company was never billed. She was very unprofessional and rude to me and to the insurance representative who was just trying to help. She became defensive and blame shifted, which was not helpful in serving the client. If you want to receive expensive bills that were supposed to be submitted to the insurance company and then be treated in a hostile manner when you try to find out what is happening...then this is the clinic you are looking for. Furthermore, if you want to take time off from work so that you can make it to an appointment only to end up waiting an extra hour in the waiting room and then another 45 minutes in the chair, then this is the perfect place for you. Absolute Dentist lost me as customer and according to the other reviews, I am not alone. There are better more customer-centered dental clinics in Carson Valley that will treat you and your insurance representatives with the respect and kindness that you and they deserve. After 2 days of pain and an ER visit to get anti-biotics, I went back to see the dentist that fixed the previous one's bad filling on my tooth. He didn't really seem to take me serious about the pain that I was in and explained if it was bad I would be more swollen and gestured with his hand out in front of his face *like this*. I don't usually swell as bad as other people though so I guess he just didn't take me that serious when I said it's a dire situation and the infection is really bad. I've had a lot of serious injuries in my life and this was definitely one of the most long and painful situations I've ever been in. He mentioned the root canal and crown would most likely cost me around $3500. He sent me out of his office with only a referral for a CONSULTATION with another dental office A WEEK OUT!!!! This is not acceptable for an emergency like this. Bad infections can do damage and/or kill you without prompt medical attention! I don't want to fill this up with all the other bad things I could mention about these other 2 dentists that I've seen in town. So I found another dentist in town that same day and came upon Absolute Dental. They were very professional and caring towards me and got me in for a pulpotomy the same day! They listened perfectly, took my situation very serious, and then Dr.Kallas got straight to work on my pulpotomy (instant relief!), then finished my root canal the following week on Monday. The entire process was so smooth. I can't imagine what I would have done without them. The entire thing from root canal to crown is only going to cost me in the ball park of around $400 after insurance and i was expecting to pay 3500!!!! Thank you so much Absolute Dental! The previous dental offices in town that I would recommend staying away from starts with an A, and the other one starts with a D.

The efficient office staff fit me in the next day, as Dr. James explained all my options and we decided on two crowns. I was fitted for temporary crowns that day, and even though the procedure was relatively painless, I was uncomfortable. Dr. James nicely reassured me by a light touch on my shoulder that I was doing very well. A few days later, I returned for my permanent crowns and they were perfect! The light shade of color matched my teeth, as if they were my own. I highly recommend Dr. James for his compassion and expertise, along with very accommodating and kind dental staff members.
