After experiencing a sudden and near-disastrous pipe break in my basement plumbing, I was in the position of searching for various contractors to help mitigate the damage. I was referred to Clean Sweep Enterprises by my plumber and have been pleased with their services from beginning to end. I placed the call to them while my plumber was still on the premises. Though it was late on a Friday and I was fearful I would have to suffer with a wet basement the entire weekend, they indicated they would come out immediately! From the time they arrived, and with each subsequent visit to my home, they were punctual, extremely professional and knowledgable about the mitigation process. They patiently responded to my inquiries and worked efficiently to complete the work exactly as was explained to me. (And I'm sincerely impressed with the fact that they continued to service my home, through the Coronavirus quarantine using the highest measures of caution and care). Initially, I believed the service was professional, but after going through the billing and insurance process, I would strongly caution others before using this company. When our basement experienced a sewage backup, our plumber recommended Clean Sweep for restoration. Rob and his crew arrived quickly and began work right away. However, we were pressured to sign a contract under the impression that our insurance would cover the entire cost of the cleanup. At the time, we were told not to worry about pricing because insurance would handle it. Later, we learned that Clean Sweep uses a custom price list that is not aligned with the rates many insurance companies recognize. When insurance did not cover the full amount, we were left responsible for the remaining balance. The cleanup alone was billed at over $16,000, and we were warned that unpaid balances could result in a lien on our home. They also attempted to steer us toward a partner contractor to perform the repair work after mitigation, with an estimate of about $17,000, much of which insurance indicated it would not cover. My advice to anyone dealing with a similar situation: do not sign anything until you know exactly what the services will cost and what your insurance company has pre-authorized. Ask for itemized pricing in advance and confirm coverage directly with your insurer before work begins. In hindsight, I wish we had slowed the process down and clarified costs before allowing work to proceed. We've had a pretty rough time with our basement after a flood and resulting ~14 month negotiations with WSSC to repair the damage, and Clean Sweep was way more helpful than we would have ever expected through the entire process. Mitigation like that isn't cheap, but their work has been incredible. Most recently, we had James and Aiden out to finally take care of the last bit of needed cleaning recommended after environmental testing and everything was as smooth and efficient as it could have been. They even honored the original estimate for the work despite a decent amount of passed time just because they understood (and had actually participated in) our fight with our water utility company to resolve our claim, which was very generous and very helpful considering how much our costs have added up over the past year. We've used Clean Sweep twice for water related issues. Their customer service is incredible which makes a frustrating experience otherwise painless. We most recently worked with Rob and his team who were extremely communicative and flexible. It was super easy to have the team out to look at the space and give a quote - and they were able to start work immediately! Rob always texted when they were en route and there was never any wondering or waiting around. The team back in the office was also extremely helpful, making the paperwork and payment process simple. read more

These guys did a great job for us when our kitchen sink leaked down into our theater room. They arrived and did the job at 3 in the morning and came back a few days later to remove their equipment. They setup a tent surrounding the wet area to decrease the time needed to dry out the space because the main room was very large. They pulled up the carpet very carefully to minimize damage and removed all wet padding. Their equipment worked great and they were great at interacting w/ the insurance company. I am a return customer who was looking for Clean Sweep's phone number to refer a friend when I noticed the Yelp Rating. Yelp is garbage. Anyway, Clean Sweep is incredible. When my sump failed in 2022 at my Reisterstown home, Clean Sweep came out with urgency within the very same evening, moved all of our boxes and belongings from an extremely cluttered basement, wiped off the bottoms of all of our furniture and boxes, and performed the most shockingly thorough remediation I could have imagined. Do NOT use this company! Go with Servpro or some other reputable company. I was bamboozled. They charged me double for the job. After a small flood in my small basement, they charged almost $8,000. It was my fault to trust them. I wasn't home when they came, so my brother signed the paperwork. When they submitted their fees to the insurance company, the ins. company only paid approx. half. Why? Because they inflated their charges and lied about work they did not do, such as clean the ceiling and the top of the walls! They did no such things. Now they put a lien on my bank account withdrawing $500/ month until the $3,700 balance is paid-that the insurance company did not cover!!!!!!!!!!! They caused my bank account to bounce! Please pass this information on so that no one else will get tricked by them. read more

If I could give this company a half star I Definitely would!! They arrived late due to technical difficulties with their iPads and then failed to give me quote until after the job was finished. They pulled out almost every door trim they could and two doors ..... ALL of my baseboards. The technicians stated that "I'm about to come up" meaning all the money my homeowners insurance was going to pay out. Even said I should claim my furniture even though NOTHING was wrong with it!!! Wanted me to scam the insurance company and that's WHY they destroyed my door trim. Really!!! I didn't receive the quote until the next day and then it was totally inflated. $7000. Then changed it to $6313. That day I received about 7 to 9 emails with differing quotes. They charged me for my whole theater to pull up the floor which I have a large carpeted platform .... so WHY was I charged for the full room. They thought they were in for a BIG payday as Kyle told me they work on commission. The tech told me they could've charged me for the plastic to protect my floors ...Again REALLY!!!! Oh and then could've charged me for after hours but didn't. But they sure made up for it by inflating every other line item. Charged for unplugging/plugging the washer/dryer & freezer. But the tech from Len the plumber pulled out the dryer .... Again WHY was I charged. Be weary of any company that refers them as they give them $200 referral fee!! So I'm still waiting for my revised invoice before payment is rendered. Don't use them!!! I'm contacting the Better Business Bureau. read more

I booked clean sweep enterprises to clean my home prior to having family come visit for my sister's graduation. It was a huge disappointment to have to still clean my home properly AFTER paying them to do it ! i specifically itemized what I needed done on a pre-cleaning visit where expectations of both the client and the cleaning service are discussed. I asked that my laundry room be cleaned, and the floor was still in need of mopping and the washer dryer was not wiped down. I asked for special attention to the kitchen floor and it was not done. i asked for the ceiling fans to be dusted and it wasn't done. My shower still had soap scum. The list goes on! When I called to discuss the issues I had with the service, I left messages and received no return phone call! Stay away from this cleaning company! read more

totally do not recommend this company they are very unprofessional and they charge for things that they do not do they also charge an overhead profit that is added to your bill I use this company in May of 2018 when I came home from vacation to a broken water faucet and two feet of water in my basement Clean Sweep came out they did pump the water out of the basement the next day they came started tearing up my kitchen didn't even give me time to empty my cabinets they broke a lot of my antique CorningWare dishes by putting them in plastic bags a few days later they decided they were going to start tearing up the floor to dry everything out then they are then all of a sudden they realize that they were dealing with an old house that had several layers of tile so they decided to test for asbestos after they tore half of the tile up while the towel was positive for asbestos so the exposed me my house my pets and of course their employees to asbestos so I had to hire another company to do the asbestos work they came they got their drawing materials their fans their dehumidifiers and I did not hear from the company for 3 months it was middle of August when I finally called them and said I have not heard heard from you in the meantime I have hired another company to do my rebuild on my kitchen so they said well we need you to pay us so they submitted the bill to the insurance company the insurance company paid them for what they did but they overcharged or things that they never did they never came and sprayed the basement with mold prevention they never steam clean my basement and they did not take the debris that was listed on my insurance company but they charge insurance company for it and I told the insurance company they didn't so now I am faced with a $700 bill being charged for things that this company did not perform in my house I told them I wasn't going to pay it but now they have sent it to collections so now I have to pay it so please when hiring this company review review your bill I watch out because they are very unprofessional I do not recommend this company at all I actually have hard B and M cleaning to do my restoration services and I highly recommend you calling B and M cleaning they do the same work for a lot cheaper and a lot more professional read more
