I had water coming up from the basement drains. I called a plumber I've used before, who didn't have the equipment for this job but recommended Clean-N-Rooter. He arrived same-day, I showed him what little I knew about what was happening, and let him go to it. He was professional and friendly, and after repairing the problem he fully explained it to me, and with multiple cameras showed me the pipes from my kitchen and basement all the way to the city line. Plumbing isn't cheap, but the bill was in line with other plumbing work I'd recently had done. One thing to note for potential customers is the plumber didn't have the option for me to pay by credit card - analog payments only. Just FYI. read more

Maybe it's because I'm disappointed in the outcome, but I gotta say the bill was quite high and the written explanation I received was so poor and had no suggestions for followup work. (Even Doug couldn't understand what Shawn had written when I called to discuss it.) They were originally called to unblock the downspout because the corner of our basement was leaking. My contractor had tried for several hours, but couldn't really unblock it so he suggested calling a "professional". After spending over than $400 more, I guess the outcome is that although water appears to drain, they couldn't unblock it, couldn't get to the street, and that quite possibly water will continue to collect and flood the basement. It might be an adequate charge for what they do, and that the condition of the pipe is bad, but when I had another company try to unblock lines at a different location, they were able to clearly explain what they found (tree roots in the line) and what they'd suggest to really fix the problem and provide an estimate. Therefore, I'd say if I paid a lot of money and it couldn't be fixed, at least I could have expected some good information and direction to solve the problem. This I didn't receive. This company is amazingly professional. Doug said what he was going to do. Shawn showed up ON TIME and did what Doug said he would do. Shocking, especially because of our experience with the last plumber we had, who quoted $8K. Shawn scoped, cleaned, scoped again with explanatory dialogue, address, and date on the video. I just bought a house and before moving in the toilet overflowed flooding the bathroom, hall and entry way 4 different times. After having other plumbers out, who charged me and solved nothing, snaking the drain 4 separate times, I was finally fortunate to have these guys come to my home. I was so impressed with their knowledge, professionalism, patience in explaining everything in detail and their excellent communication over the phone in coming out to see me. Plus, I received a detailed video of the whole process and issues (roots in the drain) for the same price as other plumbers charge to just make a house call to snake the drain for 15 minutes. When I called, I spoke to Doug, he told me who was coming, gave a description of the van and said Shawn would be over in 30 minutes, and he actually came on time. I called Clean N Rooter late in the afternoon (it wasn't a dire emergency) left a message they called me back the next morning and asked if I still needed help. I did for my pipes backing up to my downstairs bathroom. They came out later that day and I was pleased with the courteous, knowledgeable, and tenacity that Sean displayed in working on my problem.
