But I had a great experience today with Cool Heat Mechanical Systems in Denver. My house has two furnaces, both of which needed a check-up and filter change. A friend recommended Cool Heat and I was so glad they had. Paul, the owner, was completely professional, very knowledgeable, and ***gave us one the fairest price*** I've ever gotten from an HVAC firm. The cost for checking both furnaces thoroughly, replacing the filters, running carbon monoxide tests, and spending several minutes talking to us about our furnaces was only $134 which included travel time. We now have smoothly running furnaces, more knowledge than we ever would have had about the age and condition of our HVAC equipment, and the peace of mind to know everything is working well. I would recommend this company to anybody. I'm sure you'll have as positive an experience as I did.

One of my neighbors recommended Cool Heat, so I gave them a call on Friday afternoon around 3:30PM, thinking I'd get a call back next week. He was wrapping up another service call in the area, so came right over in about 30 minutes. He was GREAT! Our HVAC was frozen up with gunk and he cleaned it all up. He did confirm our suspicions about our ducting system - woefully under trunked (old 4" ducts) with lots of breaks. He gave us a reasonable price for upgrading, but recommended that we don't need to do it now. So, we'll now be able to save the money for that project (that we suspected we should have done 4 years ago when we installed our new units). Thankfully, he confirmed that our actual equipment was great and that there is no need to replace those. (My fear was always that someone would come in and recommend a whole new system). Best $125 ever spent - an hour on site to fix us up! We will definitely be hiring Cool Heat to come back to upgrade our ducting later this year! As a bonus, he also services Rinnai water heaters - because we live in Englewood (hard water), we need to get it serviced. I've gotten outrageous quotes for that in the past - his quote is substantially lower than everyone else, so I'll have him to that, too.

Look no where for your plumbing business. I had my Bradford White water heater installed by Frank and Brett in a tight closet April 6th 2023 and waited to write this review to ensure their work held. Not only did they do a great job they also educated me on how to operate, debug and drain it annually for maintenance. They were professional and planned their work well in advance, asked for photos and measurements so the process was smooth and seamless on installation day. They charged reasonably, didn't feel like they charged us extra for living in North Boulder like a lot of businesses do. Most importantly they treated us like family. I think this extra step of caring for the customer and treating them and their home well really leaves a positive impression for a lifetime. The only thing I would say is to be mindful of is their work hours. They are closed on weekends so if you have an emergency after hours or on weekends not sure if they have a service or contact for that. History: I had originally worked with "Justin" from "Hardline plumbing" in 2018 who was also exceptional and but couldn't find them and their business anymore. Looks like Justin had relocated and Frank and Justin had maybe opened Hardline Plumbing together. We now have "Homestead Plumbing and Heating" instead.

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor who appeared to be professional…read more Here's what happened: They performed maintenance on my 4 year old Navien Combi-boiler. Everything checked out and the system was stated to be functioning normally. BUT Dave thought the system could be better if I added a different circulation pump. He also thought the system should be re-piped. As the bid for everything was close to $5,000, I opted to replace pump for $864. Soon after the pump was replaced and that maintenance work was done, I noticed the pipes were clanging when the heat went off. They said air was in the system and wanted to replace the air vent. Before they could replace the air vent my system broke down. It took them a week to get back to fix the problem (that's right! No heat or hot water for a week!). After it got running again the clanking continued and when I called to ask why, I was dismissed and asked to "pay up". I decided to enlist another company certified be the manufacturer to give the system a closer look. You won't believe what they found! The pump they installed was the wrong size(was suited for a large commercial application) and they installed it UPSIDE DOWN! The technician also found the heat exchanger had failed and there was carbon monoxide and gas spewing from it! It had to be shut down immediately was going to cost me $4,250 to get the system repaired! I hold Cedar Creek Mechanical and Dave Sutton responsible for this but to this date there has been no effort by him to make things right. Whats more, the suggestion for the repiping was all wrong. The factory certified technician said it was wrong to move the pipes on this system the way he suggested. So here it is: This company does bad work, suggests things that don't need to be done and then claims no responsibility! I believe they are also overpriced when I compare to others. They might try to deny this, but my system was running fine. I have it in writing. I have all of the receipts. We will see what the judge thinks!

Instead, we were met with astronomical fees just for an initial assessment, followed by even higher charges to "fix" the problem. We paid because the situation was critical. Shockingly, the same issue returned the next day. When we called them back, they refused to stand behind their work and demanded another $175 just to look at the problem again. Unfortunately, just a few days later--by Friday--we had another backup in the exact same drain. When we contacted the company, we were told it would cost another $175 emergency fee just for them to come back and check whether the original clog was fully cleared. There was no willingness to inspect their prior work or stand behind the service we already paid for. In my opinion, standing behind your work means at least verifying whether the original issue was properly fixed--especially when the same problem returns within days. Being charged again just to see if the clog was actually cleared feels unfair and disappointing. Based on our experience, I would not trust this company. I recommend reading the other one-star reviews carefully before hiring them.
