Called Walrath and left message after hours and they called Monday morning and were able to set appt. for Tuesday even though they were booked. Dan in Service was able to maneuver personnel to fit us into schedule and had unit repaired by Tuesday evening . Temperatures were up to 100 degrees these days and extremely uncomfortable for us including for our two year Granddaughter, especially at nap time. He suggested that I plan to save $6000 to $7000 for a new one this fall. In November I met with a Walrath salesperson who evaluated where the furnace was located in my crawl space and advised that the price would be $8000. Two days later his written proposal came in at $10,000. When I asked him about the difference, he said that he had forgotten to add in how labor intensive my particular installation would be. He was certain it would go into a second day. I took him at his word. It took the workmen less than 6 hours to complete the job. The salesman and head of the company - now called Walrath Mechanical - refuse to talk to me about the $2000 extra I was charged for labor that was not required. This is a scam. I have since noted on Yelp that I am not the only reviewer of Walrath who trusted a grossly inflated bid. These guys are crooks. Homeowners like me and managers of commercial properties may have once appreciated this small company. Don't be fooled - they no longer care about you.

Was looking for a complete HVAC replacement (furnace, AC, and water heater). I like Rheem so I looked at vendors that sold that. Got 3 quotes, and Matt's company far and away gave me the best quote. The whole process (from quote, to approval, to setting up the install) went smoothly and was low pressure and Matt was able to answer any questions I had. Even DenTech's quoting system (which is all online) was so much clearer and easier to use than the other vendors (who just sent email attachments). The install went great--on time and no issues. Matt got only gave a competitive price, but was the only one familiar with the Ecobee smart thermostat that I wanted to use to control the humidifier. When I hired Matt, he was extremely prompt, super reliable, and took great care with my installation. My Ecobee thermostat required an extra wire to trigger the humidifier and Matt spent an extra two hours just fishing a wire through my house without having to cut through any walls (which I was very much trying to avoid). It turned out to be a perfect installation and I was extremely impressed with his pride of handiwork. He even refused to bill me for the extra time to fish my new wire because he wanted to stick to his original quote so I wouldn't have an unexpected cost. Plus, on top of all that, he serviced both of my furnaces for free. I don't think it's common to tip service professionals, but needless to say he earned every bit of the tip I gave to compensate for the extra time and attention to detail. Even after the installation Matt was concerned about his customer and followed up with me on how the humidifier was performing. As it turned out, my water pressure was very high and every time the humidifier cycled it would make a big knock through the house. True to character, Matt showed up and installed a device on the water line that quiets the pressure changes as well as some pipe insulation to deaden any residual noise. And then he tried not to charge me! About eight months later we ended up moving for my job and the new home buyer wanted the HVAC certified to be in good order. I reached back out to Matt and asked if he could come by and take a look to certify there were no concerns. He did a full HVAC maintenance of both units and wrote up a letter for me to share with the buyer. And again, tried to say it was no charge. If you're looking for a trustworthy, reliable, honest, and knowledgeable HVAC professional, Matt is your number one choice! Technician diagnosed the issue and offered a bid. I paid the $49 service charge (bid fee)? The bid was higher by double over the company I actually hired to complete the work. Professional and easy to work with yet I just don't think that I will use them due to their high prices.
