It was not a standard lock anyone could get into at all. Anyway, it was late in the day, but they were able to reach I believe it was Matt. He was so nice, got the door open, and disabled another lock I no longer had a key for. He also noticed a problem with the front door lock and fixed it for us. This was appreciated because it was 29° out and I had just arrived home from vacation. John assessed the options, and got me inside very quickly through a back door without a smart key. Although he did have to drill out the cylinder in the deadbolt, he was able to replace it & rekey it on the spot. I'm comparison, when I called the only locksmith open at 7:00 am when I arrived home, he showed up with a crow bar and his solution was to break the door frame then drill out the smart key and replace it with deadbolt. John was worth waiting for! Not only did he respond quickly, resolve the issue quickly, he did the entire job at a very reasonable price without damaging any doors or their frames.

My problem was that I needed the front door knob to be secured because it had fallen off the day before and made the apartment inaccessible. Fortunately a kind neighbor had given it a temporary fix. When I heard the full quote I didn't want to pay it so now I have a small round hole in my door. I payed his service charge, $70. I should be able to do these minor repairs myself. He did offer to put the old lock back in, but I rather like the look of the empty hole. It is like the aesthetics of open loft space--different, but nice. You can just put your fingers in and yank the door closed. I live in a homeowners association, so hopefully nobody else will have a different conception of aesthetics.
