I recently bought a motorcycle that had been totaled by the insurer. It came with no ignition key. I searched online for local locksmiths that might be able to help. Most had no physical location (mobile only), or when I called said they don't do motorcycles. I called A1 and was told they could probably make a key if I brought them the lock. I dropped the ignition off on a Tuesday afternoon and by the next morning they called and said they had finished making the keys. They had to disassemble the lock to see the "wafers" and make a key based on their positions. They charged a very fair $65. I had called a locksmith recommended by the local Kawasaki dealer and was given an estimate much higher. The folks at A1 were friendly and welcoming. Their shop seemed well-stocked and they seemed to have lots of experience. I will definitely be using them in the future. read more

I have a million things to do before knee replacement surgery next week, so I was needing to get some things out of our storage building in the back yard, and broke the key off in the lock. I tried to get it out, tried to saw it off even, but to no avail. I called a couple of places and they were all booked for today, then I called A-1 Lock and Safe, they sent a guy out in less than 30 minutes! He tried to save the lock, which was not at all necessary, but quickly realized he'd have to destroy the lock. He was quick and very professional, and just an all around nice kinda man. I would not use this company again they do not stand by there work. I had them to change locks on front and back doors.My back door is not locking properly and they want to charge me another service fee to come back out when it was not done right from the beginning. I was told that I should have told them before they left.Please make sure if you use this company to check behind them because when they leave you will be charge again fee if they come back out. The owner is a great locksmith, but there are several others working in this store who are grossly incompetent. We were moving and needed some copies of a new vehicle's keys. To save time the owner had the others grind out the additional copies while he worked on one set. Our mistake was not checking all four sets of keys, we only checked the one set that the owner made not the other three. Every single one of the other three sets that the owner didn't make FAILED! $48 and we got 4 keys that worked. read more

I'm a repeat customer and I was very displeased at the communication that this company has amongst one another. First time I dealt with Tim, that was it and it was a lock out. This time I had to actually go into the store to get a service done. The experience was a mess. Matt got my locks changed and I appreciate that. BUT, THE OWNERS are a mess. They have the owners wife handling everything when they are out in the field but she doesn't know what's going on when it comes to the work that was done. Which caused a miscommunication and an inconvenience to me. The owner told me she was overwhelmed but he could care less about the inconvenience it caused me. He did nothing to accommodate, I arranged with Matt another time where my locks could get changed on my car. When picking up my keys she Mrs. Brenda couldn't even tell me what service had been done. She was like I don't know they just give me the tickets. Thats terrible I need to know that what I came for was actually performed. Thank God I had Matts number, I just called him in the middle of a job to ensure what I paid for was done and if there were any issues. If she's overwhelmed over over worked they need to hire help. They lack communication and unfortunately she is the weak spot. The service left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Great experience. I lost the only key to my car. They were able to come to me, get into my locked car, and cut and program 2 new keys for me in a timely manner. This option was much more affordable and easier than getting new keys made at the car dealership.
