I am now living in the house I grew up in, built in 1954. My parents used Clayton Lee for years; naturally, when I moved in I have used them, too. I have plans to insulate the house (it has NONE) so called CL to check the attic if it still had any of the original pipes in the house. Of course it did! CL had replaced piping back during the freeze of 2021. It did so made plans to re-pipe. It did but I had one caveat: I did NOT want the interior walls cut into, since CL doesn't repair drywall or tile. So, Steve and I made a plan that the piping and insulation around it would be done on the outside walls. They hid the new piping that would've been on the front of the house to the side, the rest was done either on the back of the house or in the garage and moved the 2 yard faucets in such a way that it is actually easier for this old lady to use! They had to finish up the next day because it started raining on them! I am THRILLED with what they did, and now I don't have to worry about frozen pipes & the black insulation actually matches the black trim on the white house! I can now get the attic insulation w/out concern for the insulation getting & having to start over!! MANY kudos to Steve & his team for a GREAT JOB!!!! read more

The Moen posit temp cartridge went out on my shower, and I called Lee Clayton to replace.they had been out to clear sewer line(which I had to call multiple times.) on 13 February.19 the cartridge went out I cualled they suggested I replace the valve and offered nothing other than calling the manufacturer. I hired a different plumber when he removed the cartridge it was very corroded, and falling apart. The only 2 possible explanations are it was a knock-off or it had been used before. I called Lee Clayton plumbing spoke with Devon, and he again offered no solutions and suggested replacing the valve. I offered to send photos of the cartridge but Devon insisted that the problem was on my end. -Leann T. All of Houston had problems with broken pipes, leaks and other major plumbing issues due to a recent rash of freezing temperatures. I had a leak at the base of my stairwell that required a bucket to contain the dripping water. These guys came out THE SAME DAY (at the exact time promised) and reported a minor problem with the AC pan that was causing the issue. 30 minutes later they were finished, the dripping had stopped and I was charged a MORE THAN REASONABLE amount for their services. HONEST. HONEST. HONEST. That's the best way to describe this company and the biggest compliment a customer could give to a plumber. Do yourselves a favor and call them if you ever have a plumbing issue. They will treat you fairly, professionally and HONESTLY. THANK YOU! read more

I've used Clayton Lee for a few years now. Just recently called them out again for a plumbing issue. They came out promptly and arrived when they said the would. Their work was quality and they left no trace behind. I've called them many times and they've always performed well and been reliable. They even talked me through an issue I could handle on my own. read more

Our building had a small leak with the flush valve toilet on the second floor and I called them. The plumber arrived the next day and repaired within an hour. That was good. Looking at the invoice, they charged me $15 for their truck(?), and $47.40 for an O-ring and a vacuum breaker (online price is $2.48 and $2.84 respectively) and $149 for an hour. The hourly rate is competitive, but the parts markup of 9500% is ridiculous. Not sure if there is a plumber who is reasonable here in Montgomery. This seems rather high since it was such a simple fix (less than an hour) and I researched the parts ahead of time . read more

Good job. Steve showed up right on time, listened to what I needed done, and took care of all that in a reasonable amount of time. We had a major leak in an upstairs shower that drained into our downstairs. We called another company who told us we HAD to have the entire shower ripped out and redone. The cost was going to be immense, thousands of dollars. We called Clayton Lee for another opinion and he assured us he could fix our problem without a major renovation. After tracking down some parts, they were able to get everything fixed for a couple hundred dollars. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is that the assistant accidentally tracked mud all over the house. He paid to have it cleaned from his own pocket however. Really good experience with them. You want words, well you got words. I originally left blank to preserve the "integrity" of the company however after receiving a complaint of my un-worded one star review I'd be happy to oblige. First and far most, I originally rated this company 5 stars a year ago and nothing was said about that at the time. I moved it to 1 star because of a good reason and needless to say I have a right to review this company like everyone else. Aside from the fact that my husband and my husbands father (Master Plumber) worked here and had nothing but bad things to say, a family friend of mine in Conroe Tx did business with this company and we found out he was extremely screwed over in the upmost lack of integrity. The employee's are good, however, this is the most dishonest company in the area. Yeah been in business for awhile, but the owner and the "Manager" are a complete joke. They charge customers for items that they didn't use, work that was not done, they purposely create damage so work is needed, they charge parts on invoices for other customer's jobs, they treat their employee's horribly and coming from an HR Standpoint could be shut down immediately. The good ratings are because of the employee's not the company, if the customers knew what they were doing behind their backs, there would be no good reviews. Reported to the BBB, TWC, and Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners just to add to the pile of complaints currently outstanding. Good luck keeping "your" company up and running Devin. read more

We thought we had finally found a good plummer, but not so! It has been a year since Clayton Lee put in a new water heater for us and it was recommended that once a year they come out and drain the heater so it will last longer. A year ago, the cost was given as $100.00. When called for the year work, was given $114.00 and nothing else was mentioned! When the drain work was finished in about 40 minutes, I was presented with a $168.50 bill!!! There was a $15.00 trip charge. Now, there is no problem with a trip charge, but should have been told when asked the price when scheduling. Why it was $40.00 higher, we were given it must have taken longer! No other explanation or help! So, we are now looking for another plumbing company that will tell a customer actually what the cost will be or at least tell the customer what might cause it to be more than given! I will not recommend Clayton Lee at ALL! read more
