My latest experience with Wallin Plumbing was when Trey and Jordan came out to solve a water leak, a clogged drain, and an outside patio faucet that needed replaced. These two gentlemen could not have been nicer, more efficient, and dealt with me more honestly. I see Wallin trucks in my subdivision constantly and there's a reason, reasonable pricing, quick response, and experienced people who know what they're doing. He is very straightforward and gave me his recommendation, and instilled confidence over the phone that he was plumber I wanted to go with. He showed up on-time, took care of my floors, and got the work accomplished in a timely manner. AFTER I paid, he went to check the install to make sure all was well. He noticed a small leak on the new heater that was a product of manufacturing, not his install. He drained the new unit, uninstalled it, and went back to the store for a replacement. He offered to give me my check back until complete, but I felt confident that wasn't required. I offered to pay more for labor since it wasn't his fault, but he declined. Zach talked to the city dispatcher (Saturday @ 8 pm) and then left. We sought out 2 other businesses to select and we can't say enough about the guy who came to home to present himself. If you want business, act like you care. He did a great job! The other battle is reading reviews to match your selection. We had a good vibe with the gentleman who came to present the business. After making the selection, it was easy to select days for the work to begin. They were flexible and upfront what to expect. A professional folder was given and discussed. We were informed the project would take 1-3 days. The information was clearly outlined what to expect, what needed to be done before the work started and a contact number to call if there were any questions or concerns. So far so good right? It gets better. The day the workers arrived, they did a fantastic job covering our furniture with heavy plastic, laying out coverings for the pathway walking on, and covered all working areas as much as they could. We did not do any of these things... so glad! Ceiling dust everywhere... which is why you need to cover it everything ! They helped do the job. I looked online and called and got estimates from several plumbing companies and then found Houston Water Heaters. I called and was greeted by Lisa whom was so nice and listened to my needs. I told Lisa that I needed an estimate for 2 gas water heaters that are located in the attic of a 2 story house. ( attic & 2 stories at time are extra charge) Lisa transferred me to talk to a gentleman named Steve, which In continuing our conversation I found out was the owner. Steve answered all my questions and told me more than the other plumbing companies had told me. Steve and Lisa listened to ALL my questions, which to me is important. I decided to put my money and trust in Houston Water Heaters as installing Water Heaters is ALL they do, so I felt confident that they knew what they were doing. I got an estimate and added the install day to my calendar and waited. On the day of install the 2 gentlemen called to give me an arrival time. They showed up, did the install and got us up to code with the guild lines of the city that we live in. Daniel & Zach did a great job and we got a 1/5 year warranty included in the price. Looking further, more of the galvanized had pin holes so ended up replacing another 60' or so. The price ballooned to $2300, took them about 3 hours. Felt seriously taken advantage of. But wait, it gets worse. Apparently while they were in my attic running pex they kicked the air return duct work loose from the filter box. It took a couple months, but all of the duct work is now saturated with water as is the plenum. And, I have some new stains in the ceiling as we did not know water condensate was running off all the piping like a mid-summer night's thunder storm. Getting the A/C guys engaged, it became clear that pulling 110 degree, humid air from the attic into the A/C unit will do that.
