Another bike shop told me I needed new tires because they were old and lost pressure overnight. The kind, honest repair people here said they were fine. I was told the amount of tire pressure I lost overnight for my tires is normal. Hurray !! So now I'm on a beautiful bike ride. Thanks so much!!!' read more

I purchased my bike here years ago. I hardly rode it and ended up putting a bike trainer on it to get some use out of it. Fast forward to now. I took the trainer off and took it in for service. They checked all gears, did a tune up, tire check inflating them and I mentioned the kick stand needed to be shortened. They did it all and all in a timely fashion while waiting. They are very knowledgeable (witnessed others coming in with questions or issues addressed right away.) PLUS they are friendly. No charge for my tune up since I purchased it there. Thank you so much!! read more

Initial visit experience was good. Decent turn around time on flat repair. Tire went flat again without noted cause. Brought it back for repair. Main frustration is, made it seemed that it would be a quick turn around, especially since it was a previous repair. Called a week later. Was told not schedule to be addressed for another week and a half. At no point was this timetable stated when I brought bike in. Had I not called, I wouldn't have any idea of when it would be ready. read more

Best bike shop around never turned me away for any vehicle that I brought in electric scooter, electric bike, regular bike. It doesn't matter. These guys will work on it without complaint. They will hook you up with the parts you need and if they can't, they'll tell you where to get the parts and service required on your bike.. always happy, always professional doesn't matter how busy they are !! Stay away from encina bikes in Walnut Creek ca!! Only come to Clayton bikes that's where you'll get hooked up and that's where you'll get the best service no matter what e-bike you have ! These guys are real men. It doesn't matter how hard it is to work on your bike. They will figure out how to do it and they will get the job done!! I will never go to another bike shop except Clayton bike center! read more

Good fast service. Very professional and know their stuff. They have done a tune up for me on a mountain bike and also replaced a tube and fixed a rim on my ebike. read more

I've had a more positive experience since this place has been reconstructed, and reopened in the summer of 2022. Brought my ebike in for new tubes and front tire plus brakes needed some work. Came in on a Friday afternoon after my bike got some pesky thorns in the rear flat and I needed to replace the worn out tire in the front. I brought my bike to the rear of the store and was approached by Jesse who assisted me with polite and professional service. He advised me that a flat could be same day service but with all the work that was required he can have it ready by either Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. I also spoke with a dope mechanic with blonde dreads. He said he'll see what he can do to get done by Monday. Quoted me a reasonable price for labor since I had the parts in hand. Received a call on Monday and I'm back in mountain biking business. In the past during covids It would have taken at least a week to complete; But since the improved changes they implemented. This place went from a two to a 5 star rating. For those about to ride! We SALUTE you. read more

Huge shoutout to the staff at Clayton bikes I purchased an offbrand electric bike from a buddy of mine that only had about 3 miles on it By mile number eight, the bearings had separated from the wheel and it was wobbling back-and-forth like a death trap I contacted the manufacturer who was 100% worthless assisting us with any type of warranty work because I could not find the original receipt They their in stock inventory to no avail however he made a couple phone calls and got one shipped over from one of their sister stores that they work with The price was very fair and the customer service was fantastic They sell all types of bikes from professional road and mountain bikes costing more than some nice used cars, all the way down to balance bikes for toddlers kids and teens. Their prices are very fair, especially compared to some of the other bike shops you will find I will definitely be back for all of my new purchases as well as service needs such as suspension tuning, gear adjustments, tuneups, and details They have a great shop with a ton of inventory and very knowledgeable friendly staff ! Let's support the local blue-collar mom and pop shops instead of the big box. Corporations. read more

I can't say enough about the staff here! They are knowledgeable, friendly, and ready to help. Thanks again!

I've been going to Clayton Bikes for the last 20 years having grew up in Clayton. John, Andy, and the team are the best and they treat everyone like family. Everybody there rides so their skills to keep your bike dialed in are top notch and their pricing and value is extremely fair, competitive,& worth every penny. Clayton Bicycle Center - South Lake Tahoe Corral Trail on my Clayton Bikes serviced E Bike ! - Bikes Near Me - Clayton, California

My go to center for local biking needs. The staff is always willing to give advice and a honest assessment. Matt was awesome on my visit today. I had put on new brake pads and a caliper on my MTB, but couldn't get my rear brake to bleed correctly and was stuck and pretty much miffed on what to do. I took my bike down to Clayton Bicycles, Matt gave me a call a few hours later and my MTB was ready for the trails! Seriously didn't expect the guys to be done that fast, was expecting a couple days for sure. Picked up my bike and was able to ride Lime Ridge before dusk. Solid customer service, honest and beyond fair pricing to get me back up and running. Thanks Matt and Clayton Bicycle Center!!! read more

I am an old-school BMX bike enthusiast and often need specific parts to complete a project. I recently moved in the area so I looked up nearby shops that carried specific bmx stuff. Mostly everybody we called did not so it was a little frustrating. We drove a little farther and came across Clayton and really appreciated this place! The staff that work there are very nice and helpful. The entrance is a little weird but you got a park in the back where it looks like it'sStaff only entrance. They have a variety of bikes but I especially appreciated the counter full of Bmx specific parts. They have an account with Profile Racing which is helpful because it's one of my favorite companies. I ended up buying a Bottom Bracket and sprocket. It's just a little more expensive than online but we're supporting local business! Since my first visit and experience, I've then they're more than a handful of times buying exactly what I needed! Keep up the great work everybody, you kick ass!I believe they also work on skateboards too! read more

Quick and easy adjustment. Was very pleased with the service. $30 to fix my son's front and rear derailleurs. Everybody is happy

Exceptional service from the guys at Clayton Bicycle Center. Tony helped me determine which bike was best for me, no pressure, no salesmanship, just as if I was asking a friend (that knows bikes) what I should purchase. Soon after, I decided on some upgrades, and Matt and his team on the service side spent time asking me what outcome I wanted and expertly recommended the perfect solution. I couldn't be happier with the team at CBC, these guys are not only fun to be around, they also KNOW bikes. They treat you like a friend. read more

This shop came highly recommended by our neighbor who is an avid cyclist and I see why. The staff here is great! Great customer service. Ordered my little one's first bike and did not wait for a second email (totally my fault, there are very clear instructions when you order online but I assumed it was just to ensure your item was in stock) and they were very accommodating and let me pick up the bike with just the proof in the first email. Really appreciated their help and my husband will definitely be back for his own bike soon. read more

Great customer service. Same day service for flat tires on 4 bicycles. I was out riding my bike with my fam the very same day.

Best bike shop ever!!! Took my old lady style bike (comfort cruiser) in for brake adjustment and to oil what I thought was a squeaky pedal. Matt and Ben did excellent trouble shooting and found out the squeak was caused by a cracked weld in the frame. It was already 3/4 of the way around and - yikes! - if it had broken while I was riding, it would have made me crash. At age 66 there is more risk of broken bones or damaged joints, so this is serious. These guys prevented me from getting injured. Then they filed a warranty claim on my behalf and got me a new bicycle in 12 days. It didn't cost me a dime. Wow! Best bike shop ever! All the staff is great. This is a good place. read more

I needed some work and service done on my road bike including swapping wheels with new ones and some other maintenance and service. This place was awesome in getting my bike taken care of. Ben was very informative before and during the bike drop off and pickup period. The prices were the best too. I had gotten quotes from "other" local bike shops including B*g D*ve's and M*ke's B*kes and they were kinda lame. The Clayton bike shop was way better and had a super quick turnaround time, the bike was ready within a day or two and was well cared for with quality work. A new favorite local shop. read more

I bought my Specialized levo mountain bike at Encina bicycles shop. They are connected with Clayton bicycle center. Both places are fantastic. The store service people are very friendly and very knowledgeable. When you buy a specialized mountain bike they cover the service labor cost. I had my first service done at the Clayton bicycle shop and they did a fantastic job. They go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. It was the first ebike I've ever purchased. I have back, neck and knee issues so they guided me to a full suspension e-bike, which was definitely the way to go for me. I can finally get some mobility and freedom, while exercising easier with less pain. Remember to ask if there are any specials going on and you could get a good discount. I recently bought a Marlin 5 in Volt Green from Clayton Bicycle Center. It is amazing! I love the bike so much. They special ordered it for me because I guess Trek came out with it like the day before I wanted to order it. They helped me with the sizing by allowing me to test ride the different Treks they did have in store that were similar in size (the previous models are sized in cm and the new one I was ordering comes in S, M, M/L, L, etc). This was very cool because I went to another store (that will not be named) and the guy that was helping me didn't even mention getting the chance to test ride. I almost wasn't even sure if that was a "thing" you could do. The last time I bought a bike was literally 20 years ago, so I'm a liiiittle rusty in my bike sales knowledge. However, it was also a Trek, so I knew I liked the brand because it's super reliable and when you look online about reviews, there's always amazing things being said about Trek. What I didn't know is that Trek bikes are not sold just anywhere. It has to be a licensed Trek dealership, and there's not that many in the area, so we really lucked out to find a dealership that's so close to our house and such a fun place to shop. The people that work here are nothing but helpful, cool and laid back. We've sometimes dealt with the same people, but even if it's someone new, they all have the same attitude that they love life and are happy to be there, and I think that really says something, not only about the store itself, but how their customers are going to feel when they walk out of there! Another huge benefit of this store is they have a rewards program where you earn $25 for every $500 you spend, and they will add up shopping trips to reach that $500 (so in other words, you don't have to spend the $500 in one trip). This is something that most places don't have and from what I know, most places don't have a program where you can continue to add to your "pot" essentially, to reach the reward of free money! C'mon, everyone wants that! They also have a lifetime tune-up for a bike that you buy from them. Regardless if you sell it or pass it down to your kids, grandkids, etc. That bike will always be tuned-up at Clayton Bikes for free. That's pretty amazing! We have already returned to this place 4 times since we bought our bikes. We will be coming here a lot in the near future and feel so privileged to have a place like this near us! read more

I knew this place was here, but I had never been by before. Funny because I get my dry cleaning done three doors down. I broke my main bike and had taken it to another shop. I went to ride my back up and it was not shifting properly. I knew my main shop couldn't handle the problem, they were too busy, so I took a chance on these guys. I think they charged me a total of $10 and fixed the problem. Not only that, they were great to hang out with. I got the new bike back and I had a problem with a tire I couldn't get off the rim and came by. The guy got it off for me and got it fixed and I remember they didn't charge me very much money. I can't remember what it was. It's very unusual for a local shop to be this cool to walk-ins. These guys are awesome. I love my main shop and I love these guys too. read more

These guys are the best. Top Notch service, more than fair prices and above all, they don't treat "casuals" like me any differently than hard core cyclists.
