I've had a more positive experience since this place has been reconstructed, and reopened in the summer of 2022. Brought my ebike in for new tubes and front tire plus brakes needed some work. Came in on a Friday afternoon after my bike got some pesky thorns in the rear flat and I needed to replace the worn out tire in the front. I brought my bike to the rear of the store and was approached by Jesse who assisted me with polite and professional service. He advised me that a flat could be same day service but with all the work that was required he can have it ready by either Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. I also spoke with a dope mechanic with blonde dreads. He said he'll see what he can do to get done by Monday. Quoted me a reasonable price for labor since I had the parts in hand. Received a call on Monday and I'm back in mountain biking business. In the past during covids It would have taken at least a week to complete; But since the improved changes they implemented. I am an old-school BMX bike enthusiast and often need specific parts to complete a project. I recently moved in the area so I looked up nearby shops that carried specific bmx stuff. Mostly everybody we called did not so it was a little frustrating. We drove a little farther and came across Clayton and really appreciated this place! The staff that work there are very nice and helpful. The entrance is a little weird but you got a park in the back where it looks like it'sStaff only entrance. They have a variety of bikes but I especially appreciated the counter full of Bmx specific parts. They have an account with Profile Racing which is helpful because it's one of my favorite companies. I ended up buying a Bottom Bracket and sprocket. It's just a little more expensive than online but we're supporting local business! Since my first visit and experience, I've then they're more than a handful of times buying exactly what I needed! Best bike shop ever!!! Took my old lady style bike (comfort cruiser) in for brake adjustment and to oil what I thought was a squeaky pedal. Matt and Ben did excellent trouble shooting and found out the squeak was caused by a cracked weld in the frame. It was already 3/4 of the way around and - yikes! - if it had broken while I was riding, it would have made me crash. At age 66 there is more risk of broken bones or damaged joints, so this is serious. These guys prevented me from getting injured. Then they filed a warranty claim on my behalf and got me a new bicycle in 12 days. It didn't cost me a dime. Wow! Best bike shop ever! All the staff is great. This is a good place. read more

I had gotten quotes from "other" local bike shops including B*g D*ve's and M*ke's B*kes and they were kinda lame. I recently bought a Marlin 5 in Volt Green from Clayton Bicycle Center. It is amazing! I love the bike so much. They special ordered it for me because I guess Trek came out with it like the day before I wanted to order it. They helped me with the sizing by allowing me to test ride the different Treks they did have in store that were similar in size (the previous models are sized in cm and the new one I was ordering comes in S, M, M/L, L, etc). This was very cool because I went to another store (that will not be named) and the guy that was helping me didn't even mention getting the chance to test ride. I almost wasn't even sure if that was a "thing" you could do. The last time I bought a bike was literally 20 years ago, so I'm a liiiittle rusty in my bike sales knowledge. However, it was also a Trek, so I knew I liked the brand because it's super reliable and when you look online about reviews, there's always amazing things being said about Trek. What I didn't know is that Trek bikes are not sold just anywhere. It has to be a licensed Trek dealership, and there's not that many in the area, so we really lucked out to find a dealership that's so close to our house and such a fun place to shop. The people that work here are nothing but helpful, cool and laid back. We've sometimes dealt with the same people, but even if it's someone new, they all have the same attitude that they love life and are happy to be there, and I think that really says something, not only about the store itself, but how their customers are going to feel when they walk out of there! Another huge benefit of this store is they have a rewards program where you earn $25 for every $500 you spend, and they will add up shopping trips to reach that $500 (so in other words, you don't have to spend the $500 in one trip). This is something that most places don't have and from what I know, most places don't have a program where you can continue to add to your "pot" essentially, to reach the reward of free money! C'mon, everyone wants that! They also have a lifetime tune-up for a bike that you buy from them. Regardless if you sell it or pass it down to your kids, grandkids, etc. That bike will always be tuned-up at Clayton Bikes for free. That's pretty amazing! I knew this place was here, but I had never been by before. Funny because I get my dry cleaning done three doors down. I broke my main bike and had taken it to another shop. I went to ride my back up and it was not shifting properly. I knew my main shop couldn't handle the problem, they were too busy, so I took a chance on these guys. I think they charged me a total of $10 and fixed the problem. Not only that, they were great to hang out with. I got the new bike back and I had a problem with a tire I couldn't get off the rim and came by. The guy got it off for me and got it fixed and I remember they didn't charge me very much money.
