Recently started coming back after a long hiatus. Oh boy, I remember still hating the warmups just as badly 5 years ago! Bit the bullet and purchased a group of 10 classes and am so happy I did! Nothing has changed as far as I can remember. Come early to claim your spot and get set up. If you've forgotten how to wrap your hands, the front desk will help you out. Mauricio is a former national champion, why would you want to train with anybody else? He's a really down to earth guy, he walks around before and after class talking to students. He breaks down the movements for you so if you're not good at listening like me, you'll be able to catch on! Lockers by the front desk, bring your own lock! There's actually a shower inside the women's restroom, that's very rare for Pasadena (IMO); but you should take advantage of it if you need to be on the run! There is parking sort of everywhere! There's metered parking out on the front if you can find a spot. There's a lot across the street that'll come out to almost $10 during your class session. I park in the lot on Green Street and walk over. 90 minutes are free but because I like to get there early, I usually end up paying $2 -__-.

The charge they claim they didn't charge.

Thank you Mauricio for your diligence and kind instruction, despite the silly little gnats that come and go.

Committing to just one gym is difficult when each person goes through their productive, creative, or hibernation periods. I've wanted a place that made me look forward to going and not finding reasons to skip out. After some time with ClassPass, a 45-day workout challenge and a dozen-full of memorable buddy pass classes later, I finally made a decision I've been happy with since. Basecamp for the win. Love their lower to upper to full body workout schedule, the alternation between cardio and strength, the change/rotation of class layouts, their equipment, and of course, the instructors and team themselves. Special appreciation for the 9am goers because they became a solid community for me when I was going through some post-grad life transitions and turbulence. Somehow, when I was considering what to properly invest in while sacrificing to save money from other things, this was a good alternative investment that has sparked back some love for workout classes again. Well-deserved shout outs to Coaches Nick, Jacqueline, and Oliver and the front desk team. If you're looking for a motivating space, it's a good place for a comeback and a fresh start. Yes, I'm talking to you "New Year, New Me'rs". The time is right around the corner and I promise it's a sweet compliment to the place.

I parked on the street which can be a bit difficult depending when you come. At 7pm, I found one free pretty close by. Would highly recommend checking out this gym if you're looking to signup for classes!

The space he cultivates here isn't your run of the mill martial arts gym. It's an encouraging, collaborative, and welcoming learning environment where Coach takes time to focus on and refine technical skill, depth of knowledge, and rhythm. I recall in particular how Coach Joe took the time to fix my middle kick in a way that really clicked. He takes special care and attention to help you learn not only the proper form of a move but also the why behind it. Once you have it, it's impossible to forget. If he takes the time to help you correct something, just know that he believes in your capacity for growth and improvement. He is a wellspring of expertise. This learning environment is also reinforced by the athletes and experienced students who I've had the pleasure of training with. Through drills and sparring, everyone works to support each other and reinforce our learning. What you get here is not just an education; it's also a didactic community. I can't recommend this gym enough.
