He takes special care and attention to help you learn not only the proper form of a move but also the why behind it. Once you have it, it's impossible to forget. At the time I was there they only had like 2 or 3 pairs of Thai pads hanging on the wall. The coach said they were wanting to buy more, not sure if they have yet. I already have a regular gym and I just dropped by because I missed the last class of the day at mine and I had been curious about this place. If you use the main entrance (double glass doors), the stairs on the right lead you upstairs to kickboxing area. Mike, the instructor, is very hands on. He likes to go around and check on his students to make sure there's proper form and alignment especially if you're a beginner. Other workout places kind of show me a few things then leave me on my own to figure things out. With Mike, he really takes his time with beginners to make sure they're getting techniques down so you don't form bad habits. The class has some warm ups, kicking/hitting combos, and some drills in between to keep the heart rate up. As someone who mainly does yoga, I leave kickboxing feeling like a I had a major workout.
