Vicki and her team recently catered a meal for 15 for our group. It was an absolute joy working with her. We ordered the Traditional chicken breast with the cream wine sauce, twice baked potatoes and green beans. Everything was excellent. If we had one complaint and we DON'T, it would be that the wine sauce was so DELICIOUS we wish we had more of it! Topped our meal off with the bread pudding and can't think of a better way to end a meal - so scrumptious. Highly recommend Vicki and her team. We'll definitely be return customers. read more

This is the best food in Waller, TX there is no debate or question this is the place hands down. Beside maybe a specialty BBQ pit joint, this place has all dishes covered. It's a nice family place where everyone knows each other and makes you feel welcome. The staff are very nice and polite. Whoever is back in that kitchen hello you wear the title belt! I work in Waller and we've been to pretty much everywhere for lunch. This place is the best!! My favorite is the Reuben Sandwich. Freaking delicious. All their ingredients are fresh and they cook the dishes to perfect temperature that is their secret. Plus, they are super nice which makes you feel welcome and there are positive vibes in there because everyone is happy eating that food! They even have a little gift shop in the back. Driving to airport and had extra time so wanted to find some home cooking. First stop was Chappell Hill main Street. What a beautiful and classic American Main Street on the hill. Bummed that the only restaurant in town was closed on Monday so off to next town. I found this cafe in Hempstead and had a great lunch , Ca. Burger ( Little ironic ) and bacon potato soup....both outstanding! Stuffed from lunch but server says I have to try the fresh banana cream cake. Not a cream cake fan but agreed to try it. Bam!!! Hard to describe how good it was....seriously I might have to fly back to Texas just for this cake. Do yourself a favor if you are ever in Hempstead just stop in for lunch and order whatever they recommend. read more

The Special is always a hot home cooked option, yet I really love the Keto friendly options, that keep me on my health plan. When I'm ready for a real treat, I get dessert. So many good choices!! Bread Pudding!!! If you are not local and already know: this is a lunchtime local staple. Started with Bread Pudding and grew to sandwiches and salads. I have had meatloaf as a lunch special, but is not a regular menu item. Do get a casserole to take home and heat up. Great stopping place. Stopped just off 290 on Highway 6 on the way back from Houston. 5 stars minimum! Very friendly and attentive staff. Ordered a half chicken salad sandwich and my wife ordered hot ham and cheese; both were excellent. The local sheriff's team came in just after us and ordered some amazing looking hot meals. Looked like the day's special; Brisket, Sausage with two sides. Prices were very reasonable. Highly recommended for lunch. read more

This is a delightful little place hidden in the old neighborhood in Hempstead, Texas. Only open during the lunch time hours Monday through Friday, but everyday they have a special that is worth driving an hour to eat. Their hamburgers and wraps are genuinely the best hand-made yummy foods that hit the spot every time. And their salads with caramelized nuts from pecans to walnuts on freshly grown green lettuce leafs is out of this world fabulous! The desserts are almost the best part, maybe they are the best part. The service; I work with Harris County and brought a group of seniors and I obviously came in after them (had to park the bus), I sat down and waited for the waiter/waitress as she kept walking by me taking the orders of the seniors never turn to acknowledge me or offer me a menu nor drink. After I got her attention and asked her who would take my order she looked at me weird and gave me an attitude turned to continue what she was doing when I wasn't even finished asking her for a menu; I then got her attention once more and had to repeat myself twice to her face for a menu (she had them in her hand the whole time) she then and only then proceeds to hand it to me. The food; They brought me some mini muffins that were so dry as if they were made the day before and I couldn't even peel them off the wrap because they obviously didn't grease the wraps before pouring the mix and baking them so I only tried the top half of the muffin. I ordered unsweetened tea as usual they bring you the glass with a spoon and the spoon seemed as if it wasn't washed thoroughly had some kind of crumb on it. I ordered The Greek Wrap which was ok but they didn't even warm up the tortilla accompanied by a french onion soup which was the best part of the whole order. read more

Over all nothing really remarkable or incredible, just a clean and decent place to eat. The most noteworthy aspect of this little gem is that instead of giving you a basket of chips or bread when you are seated they bring out a small plate of muffins, tasty muffins. We SO enjoyed the new lunch addition, BURGER STACK! My husband loves an egg on his burgers and even though this is a "bun less" burger it was a HUGE meal. The fried pickles are great and I loved mine dipped in the Ranch dressing from my salad. We have lunch with you a couple of times a month and love every visit.
