I also ordered 2 large lemonade. I originally wanted to try to advertised frozen strawberry lemonade but machine was not operable. I asked did they have a strawberry lemonade on ice and I was told that they were out of strawberry syrup. Okay, no problem. I ordered plain lemonade and it was not sweet. I did not complain. I took my seat and waited 27 minutes for the chicken. I did not complain because I knew it would be great. I headed home to Hockley, which was essentially less than 10 minutes away. My wife loves that so she was happy. When we sat down it took a while for us to get menus. The server a young girl apologized 3 times before we got to order. When we finally ordered about 10 minutes later I got the CFS and my wife got a burger and fries. We suddenly noticed a large group of 24 people came in together and a few other small groups at the same time. I thought oh no this girl can't handle who's here what is she going to do now. She told us she was the only server tonight. I got worried that we may never get our food. I have a thing about my food being Hot when I get it. I guess they must have called in some help. A new server delivered our food but we had no silverware. I tried my wife's fries while waiting and they were cold. Once I got the fork I tasted my mashed and they were ice cold. I had also asked for white gravy and she got me a new fresh mash that was hot. The CFS was good but not great. The batter was good but would not adhere to the steak. She pics below. This place has a lot more potential to grow and by adding some social media exposure and maybe a couple other things. Let more people know what you're about. One thing I will tell you, the menu online does not match the current menu. So, please go with an open mind as to what might be offered. I hope that if you are in the Waller area you will go by and give it a try. They close up at 8 so don't wait too late. Most frustrating is the surprise I received after unwrapping my sandwich just now. It seems that the bun wasn't just precut, it was actually the bottoms of two different buns. I now understand why he was holding the sandwich so oddly. He was trying to hide that the other bun was a bottom piece and that it was not a single loaf at all. Ultimately, this didn't really affect the sandwich, but is a terrible practice. It's an odd experience that I have never really had. Someone serving you something that is blatantly not supposed to be served. It doesn't matter how much you know about food, anyone will know that it is not the way the meal is supposed to be served. There is no wiggle room. It's fast food. It's supposed to be consistent. It's not even about the quality of food. Selling your customer something like that without their knowledge beforehand is like throwing table scraps to a dog and expecting payment. It speaks volumes about how Subway values it's customers, and this incident is not the first of its kind. I have had several employees at various Subway's attempt to pass off old dry bread that obviously ins't fresh. This is just the most brazen example.

Or is it the filtration system for the water they use for their soft drinks and other beverages? I was later to learn that McDonald's has a contract with a very large coffee roaster that tries to do it right and not over roast and to use quality beans. But at the time, back then, I went back with some gallon jugs and filled it up with water from the McDonald's in order to do a taste test in my own home to find out if there was something in the Hempstead water that had the perfect mineral balanced for good coffee. And now, today, I am heading back to the Hempstead McDonald's in order to do a follow up taste test all of these years later. I will probably pick up a black diamond watermelon while I am in Hempstead also Coffee was bad. Burned tasting. They brought me a second cup. Also bad. I fell victim to one of those Tik Tok videos where the person shows that all three sizes of McDonalds Fries are identical. So I tested it today. The engineer in me wanted real data. So, on my road trip yesterday (see previous posting), I stopped off and filled up some bottles from the McDonalds faucet. Today, I ran some coffee using the Hempstead water and the coffee tasted pretty damn good! Is it Hempstead water? Is McDonald's filtering and making their own water for their coffee and soft drink machines? Anyone know? Still empirical. No science to back this up though, that is, to verify the mineral content. If you have an accurate scale you can try making your own gallon of coffee water.
