Our shabby hall bathroom was in desperate need of some TLC, still featuring its original builder…read moregrade fixtures circa 1984. Not anymore! From speedy response to a request for an estimate to completed project, this company was top notch. Unlike other companies that I contacted for bids, these guys listened to what I wanted rather than telling me what they were willing to do. I wanted to save the original vanity cabinet, and have it refinished to a different stain with a new top and fixtures (it was original to the home with some custom features and in good shape overall). One company told me flat out, "Nah, we'll just tear it out and put something else in" dismissing my request without even entertaining the notion. Keenan (sp?) with Straight Edge meticulously sanded and restored it, working with me on selecting the optimal stain, from 80's honey oak to a rich walnut. Lucio (sp?), the gentleman who tiled the shower, is a master craftsman with some 30 years in the business, an exacting expert whose precise, elegant work I can't stop admiring. The behind the wall work was no less impressive even if not readily visible. Blocking placed in the wall frame and drywalled over now securely holds a towel rack and grab bars, strong enough to do pull-ups. New plumbing for the tub-to-shower conversion and the vanity, all the electrical...everything came together so beautifully! I was also very impressed with how conscientious Danny and Trevor and all the rest of the of crew were. Disruptions and mess were kept to a minimum, always protecting the floors and thoroughly cleaning up after themselves. The communication with the project managers Mitch and Omar was prompt; they kept me well informed of the expected goals for that day's work and of any unexpected deviations (a junction box that needed to be moved). While they were here, after seeing the recessed light fixture they placed in the remodel, they were happy to install one in the master replacing outdated "mushroom" lights in both baths as well as a power outlet in the master bath that picked that time to die. They were all helpful, friendly and very good at what they did. Of course, this being reality, there were some hiccups with the supply chain. The specialty tile and other fixtures needed to be ordered, and those delays extended the project beyond the expected completion date, but in the end, it was all so worth it. We now have a beautiful, ADA compliant, luxurious feeling bathroom. I would 100% use them again for my next project!

I am very disappointed with my recent experience. I scheduled an appointment for an estimate on my…read morefather's bathroom and made sure I was there at the agreed-upon time. However, I was informed that the estimator had arrived early, taken some measurements, and left before the scheduled appointment time without ever speaking with me about the work I wanted completed. I called the company immediately, and the gentleman I spoke with said it was likely his partner and that he would call me back. Unfortunately, I never received a return call. I took time out of my busy day specifically for this appointment and was left without any communication, consultation, or follow-up. I would have expected the estimator to wait until the scheduled appointment time or at least contact me before leaving. The lack of communication and customer service has been very disappointing.

We can not say enough good things about Victor, Felicia, and the crew. About 2 years ago, we had a…read moreflooring company put in new countertops. The job was terrible i.e., bad seams and irregular edging. Went over to Custom Surfaces, saw the samples of stone and samples of their seams. Their pricing was very competitive!!!! Their work was outstanding. During the installation and demo process, they were very clean and there was no evidence of dust around the kitchen area. The job was completed pretty much on time. There was a 1/2 delay in finishing but that was not a problem. Victor and the rest of the crew were very professional and helpful during the process. After we lived with the new countertops for a few days, we noticed a couple of minor issues with some seams. We called them out and everything was fixed to our satisfaction. We highly recommend Custom Surfaces!!!!! Michael K in Banning, CA

I can't speak to the quality of craftsmanship/install but I've only heard great things, but I can…read moreattest that they have terrible communication skills. I've called the main office number at least four times a day for the past week and have only been able to speak with someone 3 separate occasions. The owner is semi-responsive via text message and will send a quick response once every 1 to 2 days without any real information. I drove 30 minutes to their shop because I couldn't get a hold of anyone over the phone during business hours only to find they went to lunch at a time not listed on their voicemail. Then I was able to get a hold of someone over the phone and made an appointment and drove there again only to find the owner no-showed my appointment and the workers in the shop had no idea I was coming (victor, the owner, had no remorse/ apology for no showing my appointment). Countless times, I expressed interest in setting a date for templating and install for a countertop with a remnant slab chosen and checkbook in hand (via voicemail and text message and in person when I drove a 3rd time because no one was answering the phone), and it was like CRICKETS. I finally went to JP granite in Redlands, picked a remnant, signed a contract, had it templated same day, and schedule for install 2 days later. Customer Surfaces lost a customer. And they came highly recommended and I am sorely disappointed

Good Neighbor Construction did right by my family on our room addition at our Riverside home, and I…read morewould hire them again without hesitation. Carlos and the crew handled the plans, City of Riverside permitting, and the build itself. They walked us through the work, kept us updated, and treated the project like it actually mattered -- not just another job. That matters when you're living in the house with kids while construction is going on. The work looks solid, the communication stayed professional, and they followed through. If we take on another project at this house, Good Neighbor is who I'm calling first. Happy to do business with them again.

***Update** The business has since responded claiming the…read moredeposit was applied to "design services." For clarity, I never signed a contract for design or construction, and there was no agreed-upon scope or pricing for any such services. The deposit was provided while a contract was still being negotiated, and I was told it would be refunded if I chose not to proceed. I never signed anything, not the contract or no paperwork from the company, none at all. ********** My experience raises serious concerns about communication, transparency, and how deposits are handled. Initially, Carlos was very personable and professional--multiple visits, strong rapport, and a good first impression. Based on that, and verbally agreeing to review the contract I provided a $1,000 deposit while we worked toward finalizing an ADU agreement. During negotiations, the project cost unexpectedly increased by $50,000, which led me to reconsider moving forward. At that time, I was explicitly told the deposit would be refunded if I chose not to proceed. After I declined, communication stopped entirely. Then, three weeks later, I received an email reversing that position, stating the deposit would not be refunded and had been applied to "pre-construction/design services." There was no signed agreement clearly defining the deposit as non-refundable, nor a clearly agreed scope authorizing those charges. This kind of inconsistency and practice --being told one thing, then later something completely different--creates serious concerns that future clients should be aware of. I strongly recommend that anyone considering working with this contractor ensure: All terms are clearly documented in writing Deposit conditions are explicitly defined. No assumptions are made based on verbal statements Proceed with extreme caution! *I encourage potential clients to do thorough research, including checking the contractor's license status and any available history through the CSLB before moving forward -) I unfortunately didnt. In addition to my experience, I later discovered through the CSLB that this contractor has multiple violations on record, including receiving more money than work completed and performing work without proper permits. I encourage anyone considering hiring them to verify this information directly through the CSLB." Cslb.ca.gov

Let me start by saying that this was the largest remodeling job I've ever tackled and it was also…read moremy first time shopping for general contractors (GC) to manage my project. After interviewing several reputable contractors it was evident that my design choices would require custom cabinetry. Premier Home Design was recommended to me by another general contractor who often works with Anthony for custom cabinetry. After feeling discouraged by the lackluster GC's I had interviewed, Anthony was a breath of fresh air! He was perceptive to my design ideas and not scared to tackle the project like many other contractors who just wanted a "quick and easy job." With a busy work and school schedule I needed a contractor I could trust to make sure my dream kitchen became a reality. Anthony was very accommodating of my schedule and kept the project moving forward, even when I had to leave town. Anthony scheduled reliable subcontractors for framing, electrical, plumbing and quartz countertops. An extra special shout out to Jared with Absolute Plumbing who succesfully accomplished what 4 other plumbers/GC's said couldn't be done. We had a 13" drop ceiling in our kitchen because all the plumbing, including the main waste pipe were running directly above the kitchen from the second story. With no wiggle room for error he managed to re-do all the plumbing up to code, so that we could have 8' ceilings in our kitchen which allowed for 39" upper cabinets. If it wasn't for Anthony, we would not have gotten flush 8' ceilings from any other GC, and Anthony got the plumbing done for half the cost of any other plumber! Anthony was always accessible and easy to communicate with, patient with my design details (e.g., he let me provide the sketches and dimensions of my custom glass cabinet doors, custom wood hood vent, custom paint colors, etc.), accommodating to my schedule, and paid attention to finishing details. He was receptive to any changes or fixes that needed to be done because he prides himself on quality work. If you're looking for PREMIER QUALITY on your next remodeling project then give Premier Home Design a call! You won't be disappointed!!

I preface this with the statement, if I could submit this review with zero or negative stars I…read morewould happily do so. Beware...Do Not Work With This Company or Anthony Duhu. While Anthony is a smooth talker and has a likable personality, he is not to be trusted. Do not be fooled - he does not have a license, doesn't pay he employees on time and makes a ton of mistakes along the way because of his lack of attention to detail. I was led to believe this kitchen remodel project would be finished in 6 weeks - it is now 15 weeks and the project is still not complete. There were no structural or other types problems which arose with the space which delayed progress. The problem was Anthony over extends himself, is not a clear communicator, hires sub-par sub contractors to work which he does not supervise, has poor attention to detail, is not forward thinking and he, nor his workers, arrive on site before 10 am or work on weekends typically. There were multiple weeks when no one showed to do anything. Anthony also will make you feel like your complaints are all small issues and takes his time to address them. He cuts corners and then just tries to cover up his mistakes which he always blames on someone else. The only people I have had not problems with were the electrician and the tile installation (aside from them unplugging my garage freezer....we didn't know for a week). Thomas the electrician was fabulous and I would recommend him to anyone needing a quality person! Problems which occurred: Three separate painters needed to come because of sloppy work and mistakes....four of the doors they painted are already peeling. The mud and drywall work needed to be fixed in five places because there were seams left. The painters and mud workers destroyed the xeriscape front yard by dumping their waste into the DG and desert plants - Anthony did get that fixed but it took three months. We had a window moved and Anthony mis-measured the spacing so the cabinets lined up 8 inches from the window on one side and 15 inches on the other. To remedy that he had to add a shelving system I didn't want. He also mis-measured the cabinets and didn't leave enough space at the ceiling for the appropriate molding. Again I was told - don't worry it's fine. His original cabinet worker walked off the job because Anthony had not paid him. I requested Conditional Waivers of Release from everyone he had work on this job because I don't want any liens. I received one only I fired him from doing the back splash and counter top. Anthony was given $ to purchase stone for the project and 8 weeks later he still had not paid for it. When I renegotiated the contract I requested the money back for the stone immediately - I am still being told "I'm working on it". Anthony stated "if I have problems like this 2-3 times a year then I'm ahead of the curve". He doesn't care about you or what you go through when these problems occur or how the length of the project negatively affects your life. I also doesn't bode well that at least 3 people working in my home made derogatory comments about Anthony(which I will not repeat here) and stated this would be the last time they worked on a project with him. I would NEVER recommend Premier Home and Design to anyone ever. Stay away from this company and any thing connected to Anthony Duhu period.

They helped transform the house in a relatively short amount of time and handled a huge range of projects along the way. The work included demo, interior painting, Saltillo tile flooring throughout, a new archway, and a full kitchen renovation with new cabinetry, appliances, and backsplash. They also renovated the bathroom with new shower tile, a new window and vanity, along with new lighting throughout the home. Vince, Luis, Tony, and the rest of the team were fast, professional, and incredibly responsive throughout the entire process. As anyone who has renovated an older home knows, new things inevitably pop up once you get started, and they were always willing to accommodate my requests and take on the additional smaller projects that came up along the way. I especially appreciated the communication and personalized service from Vince throughout the project. There were a few areas where some of the final detailing and finish work could have been a little cleaner, but given the overall scope, timeline, and value of the renovation, I'm incredibly satisfied with the end result. The quality of the work for the price was excellent, and they made what could have been a much more stressful renovation feel manageable. I'd absolutely recommend Premiere Home Improvement and would happily welcome Vince and the team back for future projects on my home.
