I preface this with the statement, if I could submit this review with zero or negative stars I would happily do so. Beware...Do Not Work With This Company or Anthony Duhu. While Anthony is a smooth talker and has a likable personality, he is not to be trusted. Do not be fooled - he does not have a license, doesn't pay he employees on time and makes a ton of mistakes along the way because of his lack of attention to detail. I was led to believe this kitchen remodel project would be finished in 6 weeks - it is now 15 weeks and the project is still not complete. There were no structural or other types problems which arose with the space which delayed progress. The problem was Anthony over extends himself, is not a clear communicator, hires sub-par sub contractors to work which he does not supervise, has poor attention to detail, is not forward thinking and he, nor his workers, arrive on site before 10 am or work on weekends typically. There were multiple weeks when no one showed to do anything. Anthony also will make you feel like your complaints are all small issues and takes his time to address them. He cuts corners and then just tries to cover up his mistakes which he always blames on someone else. The only people I have had not problems with were the electrician and the tile installation (aside from them unplugging my garage freezer....we didn't know for a week). Thomas the electrician was fabulous and I would recommend him to anyone needing a quality person! Problems which occurred: Three separate painters needed to come because of sloppy work and mistakes....four of the doors they painted are already peeling. The mud and drywall work needed to be fixed in five places because there were seams left. The painters and mud workers destroyed the xeriscape front yard by dumping their waste into the DG and desert plants - Anthony did get that fixed but it took three months. We had a window moved and Anthony mis-measured the spacing so the cabinets lined up 8 inches from the window on one side and 15 inches on the other. To remedy that he had to add a shelving system I didn't want. He also mis-measured the cabinets and didn't leave enough space at the ceiling for the appropriate molding. Again I was told - don't worry it's fine. His original cabinet worker walked off the job because Anthony had not paid him. I requested Conditional Waivers of Release from everyone he had work on this job because I don't want any liens. I received one only I fired him from doing the back splash and counter top. Anthony was given $ to purchase stone for the project and 8 weeks later he still had not paid for it. When I renegotiated the contract I requested the money back for the stone immediately - I am still being told "I'm working on it". Anthony stated "if I have problems like this 2-3 times a year then I'm ahead of the curve". He doesn't care about you or what you go through when these problems occur or how the length of the project negatively affects your life. I also doesn't bode well that at least 3 people working in my home made derogatory comments about Anthony(which I will not repeat here) and stated this would be the last time they worked on a project with him. I would NEVER recommend Premier Home and Design to anyone ever. Stay away from this company and any thing connected to Anthony Duhu period. read more

Let me start by saying that this was the largest remodeling job I've ever tackled and it was also my first time shopping for general contractors (GC) to manage my project. After interviewing several reputable contractors it was evident that my design choices would require custom cabinetry. Premier Home Design was recommended to me by another general contractor who often works with Anthony for custom cabinetry. After feeling discouraged by the lackluster GC's I had interviewed, Anthony was a breath of fresh air! He was perceptive to my design ideas and not scared to tackle the project like many other contractors who just wanted a "quick and easy job." With a busy work and school schedule I needed a contractor I could trust to make sure my dream kitchen became a reality. Anthony was very accommodating of my schedule and kept the project moving forward, even when I had to leave town. Anthony scheduled reliable subcontractors for framing, electrical, plumbing and quartz countertops. An extra special shout out to Jared with Absolute Plumbing who succesfully accomplished what 4 other plumbers/GC's said couldn't be done. We had a 13" drop ceiling in our kitchen because all the plumbing, including the main waste pipe were running directly above the kitchen from the second story. With no wiggle room for error he managed to re-do all the plumbing up to code, so that we could have 8' ceilings in our kitchen which allowed for 39" upper cabinets. If it wasn't for Anthony, we would not have gotten flush 8' ceilings from any other GC, and Anthony got the plumbing done for half the cost of any other plumber! Anthony was always accessible and easy to communicate with, patient with my design details (e.g., he let me provide the sketches and dimensions of my custom glass cabinet doors, custom wood hood vent, custom paint colors, etc.), accommodating to my schedule, and paid attention to finishing details. He was receptive to any changes or fixes that needed to be done because he prides himself on quality work. I did a full kitchen remodel with Premier Home and Design. I originally got quotes with Lowe's and Home Depot however the pricing was far more reasonable with Premier Home and Design. Anthony came to my home and gave me a estimate. He worked with my budget and ultimately I got all the upgrades I really wanted for the new kitchen. The work was carried out the following week by Chris, Cord and the team. Everyone was great and easy to work with. The job initially took longer than was originally estimated but that's to be expected with construction and Covid. Unfortunately after the work was completed by a couple of days, my house flooded due to a fire sprinkler including damage to part of the new kitchen. I called Anthony back out to fix damage. There were a couple of hiccups with the glass doors for some of my cabinets but Anthony made sure to get it fixed. The response time was okay but overall the experience has been worth it and I couldn't be happier with the results. Unfortunately my experience with Anthony Duhu of Premier Home and Design has been nothing short of a disappointment. I was under the impression that Anthony could produce detailed, custom, quality workmanship, not the careless, seemingly amateur, messy rush job that I received. I contracted him for tile and laminate flooring throughout my home, staircase remodel, and fireplace tile work- all of which had to be fixed or altered a second, third or fourth time with some work still needing correction. After six weeks of miscommunication, multiple oversights and lack of direction or supervision between Anthony and the questionable installers he hired to do the work, I fired him when it became clear that the skill level and competence was not there. I was more than patient in allowing them the chance to salvage the job and make it right by fixing the shoddy work but often times the outcome ended up worse off then before. When Anthony came to my home to give me a estimate, he touted about his work being CUSTOM. He pointed out imperfections in my home including a very small visible seam on my crown molding and offered to smooth it out while painting. Being impressed by his attention to small detail, I hired him. If by "custom" work, he meant unleveled chipped laminate flooring with soft spots that bow in when walked on, unleveled raised floor tiles (toe stubbers) with chipping, inconsistent grout widths and grout color, holes and gashes left on my wall along with chipped/cracked kitchen tiles due to reckless demo work, poorly cut fireplace tile ruined by jagged chipped edges, uninformed installers not following design requests leaving me with results I did not ask for... then SURELY I received "custom" work! You can not go into someone's home and point out small imperfections and then FAIL to provide detailed workmanship! It's unfortunate that I've since had to file a complaint with the California Contractors Board for further action... My advice to anyone who is considering using this company- do your research beforehand! I regretfully failed to do that till it was too late... had I looked up his contractors license beforehand, I would have found out his license was suspended at the time, I would have found out that he is not a general contractor with the authority to subcontract work out but a C-6 cabinetry millworker. I would have found out that he has a list of pending disciplinary actions against him including- contracting work outside of his license classification and I would have seen that he carries no workers compensation insurance. Finished building a house in highland, the builder wanted well over 10k to upgrade the floors. Anthony was recommended to me through word of mouth. The builder kept delaying my closing, thankfully, Anthony understood. Bought the floor a few weeks before closing, the day the house closed, they were in there removing the original flooring. Having worked in real estate/property management, I have worked with a number of other contractors and know when I'm working with someone who knows their business and takes genuine pride in the quality of the work they're doing, and that certainly describes Anthony and his team. When compared with the other bids, their pricing was fair and I was impressed with the level of detail outlined in their bid. It was clear and accurate, and not a 40 page or 1 page estimate like many of the others for our $25,000 project. Another critical factor for us, in selecting the right contractor, was the lead time involved for our project. Most of the other contractors couldn't work within our time constraints; which was to have all of the remodeling completed in six weeks for us to be able to host a large family event. We knew it would be tight but Anthony absolutely pulled through for us. We were so happy we invited Anthony and his family to our event! Our entire first floor looks look amazing, and so much more functional than before. The restoration took the demolition of much of our first floor down to the studs and put it all back together again with new flooring, drywall, cabinets, under stairs storage, electrical, and painting. We experienced, first hand, that large projects seem to bring contractors out of the woodwork! Please BE CAREFUL! We also realized that planning restorations and remodeling (whether big or small) can be extremely stressful. Having Anthony as our contractor, and his daily communication with us, really helped alleviate the majority of our concerns. I Had to give a star to post review, but I would give him zero if I could. Anthony took all my money up front, even though law states that he can only take 10%. When I had concerns about the quality of his cabinets, his timeline and his workmanship, he walked away from the incomplete job leaving me with incomplete cabinet installation and broken cabinets, and no countertops, even though I gave him 4700$ for Quartzsite countertops he never even purchased. When I reported him to the contractors state license bureau, he admitted to the investigator that he owed me money. Arbitration was required, went my way, and it was found he owed me money. The only way I got my money back was to put a claim in against his bond. I gave him my money in February. I got back 1/3 of the money 15 months later. He had his license suspended because he refused to pay me. His license was suspended when I hired him. I made many many mistakes by not knowing the rules of hiring a contractor. It was a shame I had to learn the hard way by hiring Anthony and Premier Home Design. read more

One of the worst experiences we have had in any remodel to any of our homes. A great lack of oversight from the owner and careless planning. We purchased new appliances, gave the owner the measurements and specs and when our new cabinets were to be installed, they did not fit, twice!!! A job that should have taken 4 weeks took over two months. The workers hired to do the work were careless and left things in a mess each day they were here.
