Our 4-day old new Tesla decided to dump all of its battery coolant 170 miles away from home. Tesla Roadside Assistance reached out to Clark's Towing, and although we were in a very remote area (near Chelan) a gentleman by the name Barry was able to get there in about 1.5 hrs all the way from North Bend get us to the service center in Bellevue + provide instructions on what to do when dropping off our car in the middle of the night during the weekend (because Tesla's app instructions were useless). Tesla presumably paid for the tow, and we unfortunately didn't have cash for the tip, but I want to recognize Barry for his professionalism and workmanship getting the car onto the truck and delivered to its final destination unharmed and with professionalism. read more

In January at Snoqualmie Pass during the snowstorm, Clark towing was the only tow service that responded to my roadside assistance. The driver was prompt and courteous, and got my car towed to the appropriate garage. I very much appreciated their service. TLDR: Bully business. Impounded car was found damaged in their lot. They refused to discuss and accused me of "harassing" and "yelling" at them. Always inspect your car before making payment or take a video from the very beginning when they take you to your car. Long version: My friend's car was impounded for being considered "abandoned" car in public area and was towed by this company. As my friend's attorney, I visited this office upon receiving the notice. which was 22 days post-impoundment, with over $2,000 due. Thankfully, the vehicle wasn't auctioned. Initially, the office made a favorable impression. I explained the situation and the lady give me a discount after talking to her manager, which took cost of 5 days off the invoice. I really appreciate this but still stayed inside and negotiated for some time, likely around or below 1 hour, to explain the situation, convincing and see if more discounts can be made. At that time, I was very upset and the lady was patient. She didn't stop or interrupt me, didn't complain about my conversation but didn't offer more discount. Alright, I understand it is your business and under your discretion. I paid the adjusted fee and promised to retrieve the car next day. Up to that point, I was content with the service provided. The next day, my satisfaction continued until I finally saw the car. While the same lady was sorting out my paperwork, I spotted a bunch of charged jump starters on the desk. I asked if I could borrow one as a courtesy. But she hit me with a "that'll be $150." Alright, they're running a business, not a charity, I can't complain about that. At least I brought my own jumpstarter box. When we reached the car, it turned out that the driver side rear view mirror was broken and dangling. The lady was still coaxing me into her story that this damage was pre-existing. I asked if the car cabin was ever accessed and if any picture was taken before towing and she answered no to both questions. I almost bought her story until I saw the impound record issued by police officer on the car seat, which means the cabin was definitely accessed without key. On the notice it clearly shows no exterior damage at impoundment. Returning to the office with the notice, I requested a written statement of what she saw, which was refused by all staff present in the room. During the conversation I explicitly mentioned the following points: 1) I'm not seeking any admission 2) I'm not blaming any of you 3) a description of what was observed and write it down (or I can record) 4) You are not required to do that (obviously I cannot forcr you). The lady said repeatedly, at least 3 times, "What you should do is to get onto your car and leave", "You keep saying you appreciate us, but you are not. You "harassed" me for two hours yesterday ..." and told me three times to call the police by myself. Suddenly, our bargain talk became harassment? Why didn't you say this sooner so that I could have shut up right away? They offered no resolution to the damage and only asked me to leave and call the police. Didn't seem like they wanted to talk about the damage at all. I returned to my car and promptly dialed 911. While on the call, my friend, who had brought me to the lot, was attempting to jumpstart the car and perform some necessary cleaning to make it drivable. However, the staff expelled him from the lot. I recognize that the lot is their property, but I still want to highlight the unfriendly behavior showed by the business owners. After I hung up the phone, which was clearly unhelpful for resolving civil disputes, all those folks in the office rushed out, gathered around my car, and asked me to leave immediately. I explained that the car wasn't drivable yet due to the battery. But guess what? This time they brought their own jump starter, free of charge! (I appreciate that I didn't have to use my own jump starter from my backpack, and they "saved" me the $150) They were determined to get me out of their lot. I can't help but think they wanted to prevent me from gathering more evidence of the damage. As I finally pulled out of the lot, a male employee from the business told me, "You should not yell at the staff." Mind you, I've never raised my voice. I hate to say this, but it seems like bluffing works quite effectively in this bully business. Their underlying logic seems to be this: Once they have provided a 10%+ discount, they wash their hands of any responsibility for damage that might occur in their parking lot. You spent over an hour bargaining with them, which pissed them off, so you lose the rights to ask them questions about car damage very likely happened in their lot. Otherwise, it will probably be another "harassment". And you're supposed to be super grateful for their "generous" discount. Only if you play by their rules and express your appreciation can they acknowledge it. read more

I had to have my car towed to Renton due to a flashing check engine light. I found out last minute that I could get my car into the dealership, and was frantically calling around to find a towing company. Clark's was able to come over immediately with no issues, and the driver who came out was one of the nicest people I have ever met. We had a tire blow out on I-90 yesterday. On our way to get a new car. ‍ We had contacted our insurance company for roadside assistance around 2:30pm with an estimate of 3:45 with BM Towing. BM never answered when we called them an hour and a half later. I went ahead and walked off the highway to meet my husband and the car at the Firestone in Issaquah and I was searching for a different tow company. I found Clark's and I am so glad! I would recommend. In heavy rush hour traffic, they were there in less than 45 minutes when two other companies quoted me 3 hours. The driver Richie was very polite and personable, held an easy conversation for the majority of the ride. The only reason that they receive four stars instead of 5 is the price I paid. I was told that in rush hour/heavy traffic they charge by the hour instead of by the mile. So the unpredictable and incredibly over crowded south Seattle traffic determined that my bill would be over $400. Lousy service. The driver was a lazy ass who did not move the securing straps off the flat bed before moving my car up on the back of the truck. The back wheel was on one of the straps and he put his shoulder against the back fender by the back wheel and pushed the car to pull the strap loose. He put a dent in the rear fender of my car. We got ourselves into a bind on a late Sunday afternoon in October. My friend put the back tire of his little truck over the edge of a forest service road, and we had to call a tow truck to get us off the ledge. Clark's was dispatched at 6:15. I communicated with the driver and sent him our location coordinates, the sun set, it became cold, dark, and scary out in the middle of nowhere, and then Kevin showed up at 7:30 and saved the day. I heard the Mighty Mouse theme as the tow truck headlights came around the bend. He must have hustled to get to us, because that's not very long to wait, considering where we were: three miles up a forest service road and 25 miles from Issaquah. Kevin was super nice. We broke down on Highway 18 (a very scary two-lane highway), on the way to a concert at the Gorge for Labor Day Weekend. We are from Olympia, and had never stopped anywhere off Hwy 18, so had no idea who to call. Thanks to Google, we got in touch with Clark's Towing. While we were waiting on the narrow shoulder of Hwy 18, we found a place to tow the car to. The awesome driver showed up (I don't have his name), got our car out of the crazy predicament it was in halfway on the road, and towed our SUV to the shop in Issaquah. Since we had friends following us, and their kids in our car, we couldn't wait for our car to be fixed and needed a rental. Once we got everything situated with Mike's Transmission Service, the tow truck driver was nice enough to go out of his way to give us a ride to the rental car place down the road. He not only dropped me off where I requested, but also helped me find a restroom in an emergency.
