Desperately, I reached out to Paul, my trusted store manager at Firestone Covington, and he suggested I contact Bratch Auto Body in Kent. It was already around 10 AM, and Google Maps showed they were closed on Saturdays. I called anyway, expecting to leave a message - but someone answered and told me to bring the car in right away. From that moment on, everything was outstanding. The store manager inspected my car, gave me a clear estimate, and an expected completion date. I was shocked (in the best way) when he said it would be ready by Tuesday. The price was also very reasonable, much lower than I had expected. Since I needed a rental car, I planned to walk to Avis in the rain, about 20 minutes away. But the young lady at the front desk stopped me and said she would ask her boss to help. A minute later, the store manager personally drove me to the rental location. The kindness truly meant a lot to me, especially because of the unusual events I had to go through that day. On Tuesday at 2 PM, I picked up my car, fully repaired. The manager carefully walked me through what was found and fixed, showing photos from each stage of the repair. The work was done professionally and thoroughly. They even washed, waxed, and detailed the interior. My 15-year-old car came back looking almost brand new. Today is Thanksgiving, and thanks to Bratch Auto, my car is back safely in my garage. They are not only professional and affordable - they genuinely care about their customers and understand the stress they are under. So, we decided to go to Kent Collision since they were the closest (at 30mins away) & they were certified to work on Tesla cars. Went in for an estimate in early October. Waited for them to order my new bumper. Scheduled. Dropped off my car on 10/24(3pm). My car was ready for pick up on 11/4. Little disappointed they needed a whole 6 days just to paint & replaced a new bumper. My Ex used to work as an auto painter & he never took that long for that simple job. When I picked up my car, I saw an alert saying my "audio system unavailable". My horn & alarm wasn't working. We went back next day & they checked. They forgot to reconnect the wires to my bumper. When I picked up my car, they still had it on service mode so I had to ask someone to change it. 3 stars for friendly staff, completed work & +$3500 I didn't pay out of my own pocket. But it was a stressful 10 days w/o my car!!!!!!

In this matter, the transaction should have been simple, I needed my windshield replaced. That means, I come in, you replace the windshield correctly and hopefully, I don't see you for a long while. None of that happened. Things did not start off well, but I will blame my insurance agent for 90% of the issue. I told them where I wanted to take my care, but they continued to push Safelite. They scheduled my service with Safelite and told me that the business I chose could have the claim transferred. When I came to Lucky Dog, they called the 3rd party State Farm uses and their computers were down and they advised they planned to be back online in less than 90 minutes. That meant Lucky Dog wasn't going to start service for 90 minutes despite me having an appointment. Not wanting to wait, I suggested they verify coverage with my agent despite already showing them my insurance card that denoted a $0 deductible. I felt challenged, like I wasn't being honest and what bothered me most is they told me service would take up to 3 hours. So why not start service and if there is any issue with payment, we work it out in the end. They refused to do so, so my service was delayed about an hour. Ok, not my business and I felt if Joe was being that thorough on payment, his people would be that thorough on installation. Service was complete and I left. I also noted I was not offered either of the two items they advertised with windshield replacement. It was a $25 refund or new wiper blades. Since I Just replaced the blades, I was going to request the $25 cash, but it wasn't offered. 2 days later, the rain began that lead to record flooding. I was driving and noticed I couldn't see. It was scary and dangerous, because visibility is the foundation for safe driving. I looked down and the wipers that are automated were in the auto mode. I turned them from auto to on and they began to work. Once home, I called Lucky Dog and scheduled to come back to have the system looked at. When I arrived there the following week, I asked for Joe, the owner, he was on the east cost according to staff. I also noticed a bubble where the windshield sensor was and I pointed that out to the tech. He drove the car, confirmed the auto wipers were not working and went to work. After about 90 minutes, he told me the system had been fixed and apologized the work wasn't done correctly the first time. Again, no offer for blade replacement or cash rebate was made. In the end, the work was not done correctly the first time. A serious safety issue was the result of it and none of the offers that came with service were offered and I had to take nearly 3 hours of my personal in pursuit or having them do what they failed to do on my original appointment. Lucky Dog got full payment, but did not provide the service or support I expected. And rather than take another 2 hours to drive back and talk to Joe, I felt my time would be better served leaving a detailed review. Mistakes happen, but as I say, the measure of a business is what they do when this transpires. I am not at all impressed with Lucky Dog and how this all shook out.

On top of that, they were able to squeeze me in for a full detail while my wheels were being worked on, and my car came out looking better than new. So I agreed to do both. during work it was discovered that the radiator also leaked so I agreed to replacing that as well. When I met with John to pick the car up he simply handed me my keys and said he wasn't going to charge me for any of the work performed due to the shops inability to correct a new starting issue with the vehicle he suggested that it runs fine and starts perfect most the time, so maybe I just drive it. Suggested I could take it to another shop and diagnose what's wrong with it but really it wasn't a big runability issue. So now I'm thinking what the heck did you do to my car, so I took it to GM in Auburn and paid for diagnosis. John expects that I should be happy with the fact I didn't have to pay for any of the work that he performed on the vehicle. In his mind evidently future repairs which are substantial plus the car I had to rent because this was my daily is all on me, not his problem. Now my car sits in the GM backlot waiting for a camshaft that is backordered for a month or two​. What I would explain as a massive lack of integrity from the shop, because this is not how you treat customers. Aaron 2014 Chevy Cruze 1.8L with 86 thousand miles. What they found was an absolute shocker.. John's shop had broken the exhaust camshaft and then repaired it with what looks to be 5-minute epoxy.. 5 MINUTE EPOXY!
