Gnocchis with bolognese sauce were delicious.
Lucas S.

Just like other reviewers have pointed out, Clark's is in a touristy area so prices are a bit high. There was nothing negative about our experience otherwise. We stopped in for a quick lunch before visiting the cemetery and both the service and food were more than satisfactory. We ordered two plates of gnocchis, one with bolognese sauce and the other with an Alfredo. The consistency of the gnocchis was spot on, super light, fluffy, and melt-in-your-mouth. Both sauces were also superb. So I'd say that as long as you go into it knowing what to expect you shouldn't leave disappointed.

Not the best in BA but pretty good steak...
Erin M.

A solid 3. Here's why...service was..eh, Mas o menos. I decided to eat here because it seemed like they had decent prices with the promotion, a 3 course meal, however when you include the $26 peso per person tableware charge, the total adds up. I would say the promotions aren't a bad deal though. I had the steak which was grilled perfectly, salad, and the flan for dessert. So, in summary food was decent. I wouldn't go back because I'd like to try something different.

Cumaná - Gnocchis de papa!!! Riquísimo

The reviews saying it is all local and authentic, sure seemed to be accurate from what we could tell. The waiter said he didn't speak much English, but he was great and very helpful in interpreting the menu and guiding us to really yummy, authentic experiences. We had three different empanadas to start with and each featured a surprising element that brought a new life to these little pockets of sunshine and comfort. We had an amazing baked potato with spinach, cheese and pumpkin. Then a stew of sweet potato, chopped steak in a terrific stew and a topping of endless, glorious cheese. We both ate grandly for $44US and had leftovers to share with others. Really terrific place we would highly recommend and come back to!!

The menu is all over the map - with something for everyone - but the things I focused on over 2 visits were traditional offerings and a sweet potato dish that might not be traditional but ought to be. On my first visit I tried a traditional Argentinan stew called Locro. Baked in a clay oven and served piping hot, Locro featured white corn, beans, squash, and meat. I was enjoying it well enough until the sweet potato dish arrived at which point all bets were off; that dish got all of my attention. The menu features a "wood-fired potato and sweet potato" category and it was from that small offering that I'd opted for the sweet potato topped with creamed corn, honey, and walnuts. During my first visit - and even on the return visit - I'd have sworn this dish was covered in melted cheese. It was not. But the combination of flavors and textures was so immensely satisfying that I couldn't wait for a do-over. During my second visit I again ordered the amazing sweet potato (and a Northern-Style Tamale, a bottle of wine, and flan). Everything was, again, quite delicious but that sweet potato? It was fabulous and one of my top flavor sensations in a month of travel. Cumaná serves immensely satisfying food that differs from what you find elsewhere. You can go with pizzas and pastas but why, when the menu is filled with gems rarely found elsewhere. And as for that sweet potato? I never saw anything like it on any other menu. Miss it at your own peril.

Needless to say at 7pm the restaurant was almost empty. We were pleased with the service and they have English menus (although we were happy to practice our Spanish). The pizza was great. They "small" was more than enough for me. I doubt that I'll be back late enough to enjoy the full dinner menu but the pizza did the job. Our bill was almost $1,000 Argentine pesos for 3 pizzas and non alcoholic drinks. We asked the waitress about tipping and she said 10% in cash and she was happy to take pesos or dollars. Overall a great place for an "early" dinner if you are in the mood for pizza.

The pepperoni pizza had a delectable crust, and a quick pour of garlic oil made the dish memorable. The spaghetti bolognese was a large portion of a perfectly al dente pasta with a succulent sauce. The mix of breads given to us made the savory part of the meal even better. We opted for desserts - my husband had the volcano, a molten lava cake with a side of pistachio gelato. I had the tart lemon gelato, which is really a sorbet - a perfect ending for the meal with its refreshing iciness. Highly recommend!!!
