This is a long overdue review for ATH! They handled two major home projects for us in 2025 in a…read moremidcentury modern condo. This review is for the first one, a bedroom ceiling/roof leak that needed mold mitigation, asbestos testing and renovation. March 2025: Leak originally started as a moisture spot on the ceiling in October 2024 but my HOA ignored it. By March 2025, the ceiling had become so compromised that water streamed in like a waterfall during a massive storm. My original contact was Noah - he gave me an estimate (along with two other companies). I really appreciated how Noah was communicative, informative and thorough. And! he didn't badger me w/ phone calls & emails, like the other two companies did. He understood that I said I would take care of the situation when I could b/c I was in the middle of Massage Therapy school. I understood the "risks" of having mold & just shut the bedroom off. Fast forward to August 2025 & now we're ready to take care of the situation. Noah followed protocol of getting an asbestos test first. Luckily, it was negative. Then Spencer, their Mitigation Specialist? built a special containment room, inside the guest bedroom that sealed off the contaminated area. Heavy duty fans stayed on for about 72 hours? so the area could be thoroughly dried after being treated w/ some kind of mold treatment. Noah was available via text when I had questions - that was surprising & super helpful! Once Mitigation was completed, Noah connected me w/ Jacob at their Restoration Department. He sent over a stellar crew led by David & they proceeded to rebuild about a quarter of the bedroom - meant to mention that they had to rip out dry wall, scaffolding, etc. This crew rebuilt and then refinished the area, including re-installing wainscotting and painting the ceiling + walls. The results? This bedroom looks gorgeous! We were thrilled with how thorough/smooth ATH was w/ this process & how the renovation turned out. I also want to clarify that Jason, the gentleman that has been out here several times did nothing wrong. When I was upset on the original call that diagnosed the issue, my response was due to the information being conveyed to me, not at Jason. He was only doing his job, and I was being a less than professional customer. He did nothing wrong. When I called back, a month later, I had already resigned myself to spending $1K to get the softener fixed and have the Chlorinator added. I was calling to schedule an appointment. My issue was not Jason, it was my interaction with the GM, who I did not ask to speak to, who blew all of this up with all up with his tactics to upsell and all the information he was giving me. The day I put my review up here and in a few other places Mike called me again. Kinetico did end up fixing the soft water, but on that call he told me that he'd been talking to the company execs for weeks to try to solve what ailed me and everyone agreed to do the right thing (this happened on the day the review posted - about 7 hours after I posted it). I was happy to have everything resolved, but yesterday he called me again to confirm I was happy with the job.. but when I told him I was not upset with Jason (which was conveyed by the person fixing the softner), he said: He was just trying to be the middleman. Again, my issue is not with Jason, it is with Mike and his pushy behaviors and lack of accountability. If they had just scheduled the installation of the Chlorinator when I called in August, we would not be here right now. If he had just apologized for the whole thing and left it at that, I would not be making this kind of an addendum. He was not the middleman, he was the problem to begin with. If you get a Kinetico Soft Water/RO System (which I love) and ever have to deal with Mike, my suggestion is that you go over the contract/sales agreement and have everything on there that you buy and your initials by everything you decline. Make sure they give you the agreement. I can find my original agreement with what I bought, not what I declined, and the receipts for the fix 5 years ago, but not the agreement about what I bought and declined. If your phone has the ability to record, record the conversation and save the audio file. The three stars I have given are the average of 5 for the product itself and 0 for the GM and his approach.
