I'M SUEING THIS place!!! It turns out that the wonderful DMV decided after 12 years of ownership that I have to pay $10.00 every 5 years my trailer that had PERMANENT plates???? After I went to the DMV in Lancaster and paid them $10.00 then the Sherriff's office in Palmdale and paid them $93.00 for a release, and finally Clark and Howard Tow in Lancaster where they charged me $309.00 for towing, and they didn't even put it on a flat bed. When I questioned the lady as to why they were charging me as if a trailer was heavy equipment, she said "I'm giving you paperwork that you can read". I expressed my irritation and opinion about her attitude and waited outside by my car. I was then met by a tow truck driver leaving and he made a comment that because of my interaction with the office staff, That I would be waiting a while for my trailer. I then was told by the yard staff that they delivered my trailer to an opposite gate down another street. As soon as I hooked up my trailer and turned the corner to head home, my tire went flat on the trailer! They exacted their petty revenge!! The only thing is they are not intelligent, and the entire premise is recorded by cameras. My sister was in accident, the guy towing was so rude to us which I find very insensitive considering we just went through something traumatic as well as unprofessional. They will also try to scam you into "scrapping" your car (meaning they make money off your car) and still charge you. Please use AAA or any other towing company. contacted clark & howard towing for assistance moving my 38' rv. spoke with larissa who was helpful & efficient. she took the necessary info & setup the pkup. their driver, javier, showed up with flatbed that could move a bus; it wouldn't fit the driveway (low wire). when he saw this problem, he took pic & reported to dispatch the situation. next, their driver, miguel, showed up - same day - to move my rv. had tough time but miguel has skills & was able to move rv. job took longer than planned but all involved were great... thank you, clark & howard for helping me using kindness & not discourse! i highly recommend clark & howard for your next tow job. read more

This place is a complete joke, I dont even know what to do?? I had my car towed because the person driving had a suspended license. So I went up to ask the tow truck driver if I could pay him to drop it and he said no, fine no problem so I told him I would follow him so I can pick it up. Thats when I looked and seen the "Metal" hook digging into my rims because that is where all the weight is being held. I ask the driver not to do that and he said thats how they do it. After reading all these reviews both negative and possitive, I do hope that my experience with them is smooth sailing and not anything like I read in the reviews. I know that a business can thrive from great customer service reviews, and it doesn't seem that many customers have been pleased with their services from your company. I will definitely make sure that I share my experience with the public and see how much their customer services have improved or deteriorated since their last review. I did see that the owner or manager did respond to the comments even if it were years later that he saw the review. I guess thats a possitive thing, on behalf of the company, because it did show that he was concerned and apologized to the customer for whatever went wrong at the time of their visit. I will suggest being available for your clients during business hours would be ideal and a little compassion can make a huge difference. And 24 hour customer service in recovering their vehicles could also make customers happy, most people don't have cars without jobs, and some have children and responsibilties that make it impossible without a vehicle... but anyways... it's not your problem... but taking those things into consideration should be part of your business.... I'm just saying. Okay, my experience up to now, since they were closed at 5 p.m. I will have to give you two stars, because it threw a wrench in having to get to work, no work, no pay means no money to you. :( from me anyways. This place has extremely shady and unethical practices that prey on downed victim. This towing company was involved when my car was stolen for a joy ride... The MOST UNPLEASANT AND NIGHTMAREISH PART OF MY WHOLE EXPERIENCE WITH LOSING MY CAR WAS CROSSING PATHS WITH THIS COMPANY. Not only was my car towed and stored in the lot without my consent and against my will... Strong evidence showed that they further tempered with my car and made it appear inoperable while it was on their lot. On top of that, they charged a blasphemous amount of money($500+) for recovering my car, extra $48 for keeping my car overnight(I would've been able to retrieve my car the day of if they didn't wait till right before their closing time at 5pm to report my found car. Report showed they recovered the car at 10am that day!!) They even demanded that I get the car out of the lot the next day before 10am or an extra $48 was going to be charged(despite I live an hour away and had to get a mechanic out in the crack of dawn to do this.) When I explained my situation, the clerk behind the desk appeared nonchalant with no qualms or sympathies given... Wanted to plea and reason with the owner of the company instead and was told that the owner was conveniently out of town and was in a place with no reception and cannot be reached for three days(well whoop-dee-f'ing doo for you). At that point my options were either cough up $500+ dollars to get my car out then(for retrieving & keeping my car for less than a day's worth), or leave the car there and let them do more god-knows-what to my car until the owner comes back 3 days later. I had to get it out right there and then. I seriously wonder how you people live with yourself and sleep at night... Ah, my mistake, you probably laugh and smile all the way home and feel nothing. This is what your business is about after all. Whoever you are looking at this business, run very far away from this place. If you're forced to deal with this towing company... Let's face it people, by the time you have had the services of a tow company, there has already been a costly and unpleasant experience. It is not the towing company's fault. I had a bad set of circumstances that set into motion my dealing with Clark and Howard. The ladies on the phone were kind and professional. When I went to see them in person they were helpful, giving me the address and information about how to get the vehicle released. And with the proper paperwork in order, they put my car on a flatbed and delivered to Bakersfield. Yes it was damn expensive, but what is the alternative? Surrender your vehicle? Me thinks not! And the driver that brought my car over- he called me at 5 30 to tell me he would arrive at 6 00. And guess what? He arrived at 5 58. This tow yard thrashed my 2009 Bentley Continental. The car was in perfect condition the day that it was towed and it sat there for only two days. When my husband and I went to pick it up we were shocked and terrified by the condition of the car. It looked like the seats and the doors had been torn apart with a pocket knife. One of the employees a kid in his 20s said that he was the one that towed it in but repeatedly defended himself saying he didn't do it without even being accused. That seemed kind of suspicious. Also the car was left unlocked with the keys inside of it as they neglected to take the keys out and lock it. There was a Mexican lady that was working in the office that was of no help at all. She was also very defensive saying that nothing like this has ever happened here. She was unable to give us any information about her boss or the owner and insisted that the impound lot was not liable. read more

They broke something and refused to pay for it! Just gave me the run around. Not impressed! While the receptionist was pleasant & helpful & the driver was nice too, he unfortunately he backed over something in my yard. He seemed to think that it was not big deal but I insisted that the company replace it. He said he was going to tell his boss Mickey the next day and have Mickey call me. Five days later: nothing. I finally called to speak to Mickey and he gave me a hard time about why I waited so long to call. I explained that I was waiting for his call. He said the employee never said anything. He asked if I could call back the next day at a specific time that suited him (cause he might not be in the office, guess he doesn't have a work cell...) He also didn't seem to have any records of my even using his business. He kept asking me the name of the driver and, though I had it written down not in front of me so finally I said "don't you have a record of this?!". He said he was in the wrong office or something (guess they don't keep online records) He said kept asking irrelevant questions and I felt like he was trying to distract me from the real issue and didn't take me seriously. He also didn't return calls even when he said he would. I'm sure his game was to just distract me until I get sick of it and hope I just go away, and, unfortunately, it worked. I am so sick of feeling like I'm getting nowhere with him. But be warned, getting them to fix their mistakes is a frustrating and sometimes impossible feat :( read more

Rude. Plain and simple. My car was towed there after an accident and by no choice of my own. When I called about getting it released to the insurance, the girl kept cutting me off, was condescending and RUDE. Instead of just informing me of what I needed to do, she waited until I tried asking, then would cut me off and talk to me like I should know...DUH. Anyway, customer service isn't required when they're holding your property hostage so, I'm sure they don't care what's said about the business. It's just disappointing when you've already been through a traumatic experience, to be further mistreated by the people who've 'helped' you. So CHP as well as Palmdale sheriff and Lancaster sheriff have contracts with these crooks. I'm guessing either the dept themselves get a cut or the city. My car was vandalized and a brick thrown through front windshield. I couldnt drive it since zero visibility so it was parked in front of my house while I waited for the new windshield I ordered. It was towed for being abandoned. When you finally recieve notice where it's located ,a week has gone by. After fees I'm out $800, for being the victim of vandalism. First note, under new management. WOW! I buried my little rental car on a dirt road that turned into sand then had an obstacle which forced me to stop. I was stuck and wasn't going to get out and I was 2 miles from a good road. I called 3 tow companies and they all said, "We know that road and we cannot come get you. We'll get stuck too." Their trucks were all two-wheel drive. The third company then called me back and the owner, Micky, would go home and get his personal 4X4 Jeep and pull me out. We got back to my car at about 7:45 at night and he did the job quickly and professionally. With my car 2 miles from the main road and with the late hour and his personal vehicle and the only company who could do the job, I assumed the cost would be higher. OK so I lent my car to a friend Friday night to go to McDonald's two blocks up the street and he ends up getting it impounded. When I was finally able to get it back today, which is now wednesday, it has a broken back passenger window and aprox. $20 in bills and $5 or $6 in change is missing. They kept my car from me for six days racking up the storage fees because nobody was available to release it to me. Although they advertise that they are open 24 hours a day. When I called to complain they told me if I drove it off their lot then any damage is not their responsibility. On top of that they charged me for them putting a lien on my car even though the law states they must wait a week before starting a lien. They did this because its a BMW and they were hoping they could rack up enough fees that i may not be able to get it out for 30 days and they would get to keep it. What kind of bull shit is that? I understand that it was my fault the car was impounded since I lent it to someone that had an expired license. Therefore I never raised my voice or spoke to the thieving bastards disrespectfully in any kind of way what so ever, even tho their office was rude and obviously keeping my car from me just to put more money in their grubby ass hands. I gave my wife a new corvette for our 25th. anniversary some years ago. I've had to have it towed twice recently and was petrified something would damage it. Clark and Howard towing was recommended to me by a friend and the first time a man arrived right on time with what to me was a new tow truck-very impressive! He said they sent a flatbed style truck because it was the safest way to tow a vette-especially an older one. The driver took great care to insure there was no damage-a few months later bam!-I needed it towed again. The second time was even a better experience than the first! I would recommend them to anyone needing their service. I'm no spring chicken-that 25th anniversary was 25 years ago so I've been around the block a few times and have had my share of terrible tow companies. beyond the worst tow company ever!! we call for a simple lock out on a honda civic... a honda civic! not only did it take 45 minutes for the first guy to get there... he strruggled for 20 minutes and didnt get it. only thing he did was gouge the tint from the window sil as high as he could. he left, another retard came 30 minutes later to talk crap about the first guy. then he goes and gouges the driver tint worse the the first guy, chews up the weather stripping on the back window trying to force something in, severly tears the weather stripping, and scratches the hell out of the paint on the door jamb. i take it to the "manager" of the palmdale yard... he hears the driver admit to damaging the car then sent him away? him response was, by law i cant have tint so they are not liable even though he can see it happening and for the weatherstripping, he said this: "its your word against my driver's word." what kind of bullshit customer service is that? i love how companies like this implement policies to let their "experienced" drivers get away with vandalism! do not go with this company!!! the worst part.... since the first guy struggled for so long anf the other guy had no regard forsomebody's property, he actually took the change as his tip, drove off without giving a receipt!! read more

they took everything worth money and lied to me. the owner Mickey had at least five different stories on why my stuff was not there. the only reason my motorcycles were still there was because they have VIN numbers. after being lectured by Mickey on why the storage fee was so high(over 3,000) and how they cant negotiate that price because of their contract with the CHP...he really tried to make a deal with me and only charge half price to get my dirt bike out.
