    arancini (Fried risotto balls)
    Melissa L.

Clara's is a nice Italian restaurant located in the Seven Bridges area of Woodridge. The ambience is lovely--warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed dinner. Prices are on the higher side for Italian, with most entrées averaging around $20-$30. The arancini (Fried risotto balls) are A+, worth the trip. The starter salad was disappointing--basically a bag of lettuce with a single slice of tomato and cucumber, topped with a flavorless dressing. However, the homemade pasta was very good, and there's a generous selection of sauces to choose from, which made the main course worth it. Service was fine--nothing exceptional, but nothing to complain about either. Overall, a pleasant spot if you're craving good pasta and don't mind paying a bit more for the atmosphere.

The complimentary bread brought out with herbed dipping oil is always so delicious. It's so difficult to avoid filling up before the main entrée is served! The garlic bread with added mozzarella chrese was good & very flavorful. The fresh pasta (which has a variety of shapes to choose from such as fettucini, spaghetti, rotini, radiatore, etc.) with tomato sauce was delicious. The tiramisu was pretty good too. Friendly & attentive service made it overall a great meal.

Got seated in the bar area for an early dinner on a Friday night and it was a happy accident because all cocktails were half price. Or - I buy one and my sister gets one free as she says! Server was great, place was clean and stylish, but brightly light. Bread & oil for the table was delicious. Everyone's food was great and the portions were generous. Would definitely go again.

    Grilled calamari

I was here with a group of 4 during dinner and overall our experience was OK. From what I've heard from others this place has expanded and is somewhat recently renovated. The space itself is fairly modern and has a closed off-ish floor plan. For me it looks smaller than what it actually is. Service for us was also OK. It could have been better/faster, however, I've had service from other establishments be way worse as well. It was fairly busy so I can understand why we didn't have speedy lighting fast service. I did notice that there were a number of bugs flying from the ceiling or instantly attracted to food once we did receive items. Note: we dined indoor and windows/doors from what I could see were kept closed. I ordered the house red wine and I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it. It was on the sweeter and less acidic side and if there is 1 thing that I would order if I came back, it would be this. For food we started with the grilled calamari to share and it was also just OK. Nothing special about it, pretty standard for a calamari. For my entree I had angel hair pasta with the vegetable primavera sauce. This was OK quality wise. The business owner said they've been using the same pasta recipe and same house made technique daily for many years but for me it does not taste like it's fresh or homemade. Flavors were OK, again, nothing special. As for the portion it was generous and I did have a lot left to take home.

We ordered takeout as I was in the mood for Italian! I was disappointed as the lasagna was overdone. Perhaps we need to try as dine in as carry out did not go over well.

Delicious lunch in Clara's light and bright dining room!

Stopped into Clara's for lunch today to celebrate a co-worker's first day on the team. What a GREAT lunch spot! Plenty of room for groups/meetings and a wonderful lunch menu with huge portions! The food was delicious and the staff are so warm and friendly! The tiramisu was one of the best I've had! In May (2025,) they are selling their family cookbook Cooking With Clara and all proceeds go to Blessings on A Backpack to feed kids in the area who are getting free lunch at school but need food to take home on the weekends.

I ordered garlic bread and a 14" meat lovers pizza to go. They do have some seating inside, more seating than I expected. Initially, the garlic bread was okay. It tastes great if you use a pizza stone. The pizza on the other hand, I was underwhelmed. I ate it when it was fresh as well as on the pizza stone. The crust is bland and tasteless. The sauce was great. The toppings were okay. I ordered this ultra thin, crispy, and extra sauce. Pizza is like 2.5-3. Overall experience is a 3. This is a one and done for me.

Walking in, I gravitated towards the sign of specials, and then was guided to a table. Along with complimentary bread, I was treated to the sight of an owner (Mama Brasi, as one customer called her) who was visibly engaged in the lives of the clientele, both with repeat customers carrying out as well as with a family dining in, and their little girl who was a fan of salads. A hot bowl of minestrone arrived and added to the warm feelings. But it was the eggplant involtini special that was the star. Cooked and seasoned well, a healthy supply of sauce (I could see some sauce fiends wanting more, but I was content), and enough to take home a bit for lunch the next day. Early November was a little chilly sitting by the door, so keep that in mind for colder months, as there's not much they can do about that.
